“Okay, I’ll take you to see Baric. And here I thought I was going to find a worthy foe.”
The Pathfinders are taken to Baric the Bloodfist, a robust man with short silver hair, armor made from an exotic reptile, and thick scars on the backs of his fingers. He carries no weapons save for his massive fists and a bandolier full of alchemical bombs. He welcomes them into his tent and offers them Numerian Blue Whiskey, then asks them about their trip.
“So you’re friends of Dagur, eh? Don’t look like much, but then again, I don’t have her eye for talent. Hope your trip here was full of hardship, to make you stronger!”
He pours a bright blue fluid into shot glasses, offering one to anyone assembled.
“You made it here on time, that shows respect. Tell me of any troubles on the way; I’ll mark it on my map."
What are you going to tell him, and what are you leaving out?

"Master Steelwheels here acted as our primary scout, and I think he did an excellent job finding an efficient route. We saw some krooths, but they gave us no trouble. There were some geysers that we weren't equipped to deal with; we had to retreat and route around. And we were ambushed by some bandits, presumably Blue Streaks. They had this letter."
Clover reviews the letter for a moment before handing it over. "I think I misinterpreted this before. I thought it meant that they were hoping to find something underhanded in our ledgers, which didn't make any sense since the ledgers are copies we are openly sharing. Perhaps they just intended to prevent the delivery, though. Though I should say this letter may well be a decoy. Our instructions were to make reaching you our priority and not to pursue the Blue Streaks more then necessary, so we've done no additional investigation as yet.
"Let's see... there were some pools of acid and some damaged machines that were rather dangerous, near where the bandits ambushed us. We smashed those up, though. The machines, not the acid. That might linger a while."
Clover looks at the others. "Am I forgetting anything?"

![]() |

Apparently you owe Dagur favor? We cash it in to be taken to Starfall! Arfsnarf adds enthusiastically. He figures a place with that name has to be hip.

"Those bandits and damaged machinery were obviously most serious threat we faced. Acid pools also were quite challenging." Morrin states

Baric listens carefully to Princess Clover's stories, and chuckles.
“Well, you were told not to mess with the Blue Streaks until you got the caravan here, and the caravan's here now. You’ve got to show them blue bastards what you’re made of. Respond to strength with strength. If you don’t, not only will no one here respect you, but those piss spray Technic League rejects won’t leave you alone. We’ve got an extra day, so you can go and destroy them. Unless, you're chicken."
Apparently you owe Dagur favor? We cash it in to be taken to Starfall!
"We'll take you to Starfall. The question is whether you walk on your own two feet like warriors, or whether we should wrap you in swaddling clothes and carry you on our backs like helpless babies."
"Hmp. Don't make us sound too tough." Itka grumbles sarcastically, knowing how Gorumites think. Then again, she's the one hobbling with a cane, so she's in no place to throw stones.
Baric laughs and laughs. "At least you've got one warrior amongst you."
He turns to his comrades and points towards Itka's cane. "You see that cane? You know what that means? That means she only needs one leg to kill you all. If we end up fighting them, watch out for her."
Would you like to assault the Blue Streaks base?

Arfsnarf gulps, then quickly stands up straight.
Uh, yeah! Of course we go blue streaking first!

Would you like to assault the Blue Streaks base?
Wise enough to know that her chances of undermining Baric's estimation of her worth would increase dramatically if she tried to show off or boast right now, Itka simply glowers menacingly and utters her characteristic "Hmp."
In response to the challenge to destroy the Blue Streaks, she replies: "Hmp. They still intend to hit the caravan, per the note we recovered, and we were instructed to foil their plans once we are certain the caravan is safe. Baric, if you and the other Gorumites guard the caravan while we're gone, we will go end their threat. Permanently. Hmp."

He turns to his comrades and points towards Itka's cane. "You see that cane? You know what that means? That means she only needs one leg to kill you all. If we end up fighting them, watch out for her."
Ra'uf chuckles softly at this comment. With one leg he could have been a proper seaman, or at least pirate.
Would you like to assault the Blue Streaks base?
"I'm happy to go another round with them."

![]() |

"They seemed almost entirely harmless," Clover says dismissively (she expects that will go over well), "though I suppose they may still be a threat to noncombatants. The ones we fought are in no condition to assault the caravan, but there must be more of them." The poppet nods. "Very well, that does sound like it should be our next objective."

"So, we will have one more round against Blue Streaks? I'm ready to go if you are." Morrin nods

GM Watery Soup |

A long canyon runs south to north and ends at an abrupt cliff face. Paths have been carved into the sides of the canyon, creating ledges that look down on the damaged remains of a massive scorpion-shaped robot, its six legs bolted and strapped to the canyon walls. Below the robot, against the eastern end of the canyon, stands a small, sturdy shack with a single door. Metal pylons protrude from the canyon walls, leading a thick black cable from the remains of the scorpion robot to one of the northern ledges.
See Slide 7.
The rough-hewn stone stairs along the canyon walls function as difficult terrain and lead up to ledges looking down into the canyon floor. Climbing the steep canyon walls requires successful DC 22 Athletics checks. The northern path raises up into an upper and lower path. The upper path’s roughly hewn steps lead up to a narrow ledge 25 feet above the canyon floor, then up further steps to a wider ledge 30 feet above the canyon floor. The lower path only raises 5 feet above the canyon floor before reaching a second set of rough-hewn stairs leading another 5 feet up. The lower ledge ends at a steel ladder bolted to the cliff wall, leading up 20 more feet to the top ledge. On the south side of the canyon, the stone stairs leads up to a single platform, 10 feet above the canyon floor. The robot is suspended 20 feet above the canyon floor and is 10 feet tall. Creatures can climb one of the robot’s limbs with a successful DC 19 Athletics check.
I've tried to make clear the different heights - please let me know if anything is confusing on the slide. Well, if it's unnecessarily confusing (I know it's busy).
When the Pathfinders arrive, the leader (white box) calls out to them. “FOOLS! You’ve come here, to my base? Where I am STRONGEST? Ah ha ha ha ha! I’m going to enjoy smashing your smoldering corpses into dust. Attack—hehe! Murder—hoho! DESTROY—HA HA!”

And just in case any friends get close...
You free an ally from restraint. If the trigger was an ally taking damage, the ally gains resistance to all damage against the triggering damage equal to 2 + your level. The ally can attempt to break free of effects grabbing, restraining, immobilizing, or paralyzing them. They either attempt a new save against one such effect that allows a save, or attempt to Escape from one effect as a free action. Whether or not it needed to escape, the ally can then Step as a free action if it’s able to move.

GM Watery Soup |

Just so everything is clear, Ra'uf, the robot, which is actually more of a scorpion than a crab, is suspended off the ground, so you are headed underneath the structure. The bottom of the robot, which I didn't think would come up, is about 20' off the ground. It is where the chain guns are, but it'd be a ranged attack, and nobody's done a Recall Knowledge as to what you'd need to do. If I haven't described things well, feel free to revise your actions.

Looks again... So they are. No I had no other reason than not realizing they were within a fireball radius. White is 5ft down from Yellow in height... checks a 40ft radius diagram Yeah seems that should still work.
