Melenia now turns her attention to black and continues her primal assault. Occasionally raising her shield in defense.

Olaf points through the deepening shadows and blasts the pix before healing up his warpriest ally.
Fort Black, sickened: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 8 - 1 = 21
Silverbeard lashes out with his hook and snags the pix by the wings!
Qigiq fires a ray at the creature, but the shadows shift and blur its outline enough to make his spell go wide. He then takes a moment and as he peers into the shadows he notices that these are clearly umbral pixies, risen from the dead. So they share the immunities of the undead with the weaknesses of both fey and some undead.
Standard undead immunities. Weakness to cold iron. Weak to Holy (printed as “good” in the scenario.)
Melania slashes it once, almost slicing an artery.

Bramblespine fires a volley of metallic darts into the pix, and Lesley’s shot hits the pix square in the chest. The body wiggles like a dead fish for a few seconds as the Cap’n giddily plays with his catch.
Combat Over
Black Molly (-8)
With the last pixie defeated, their influence on the darkness abates, and your wayfinders light up the room. You see a key hanging from a a stray rung jutting out from the broken ladder. It takes a trivial effort to reach the key, which upon examination is likely the key to the locked door from earlier.
Returning to the room with the evident tear in space-time, you pass back into the Universe from which you came. You find yourselves at the top step of the walk down into the ruins of the original citadel you were sent to explore, your mounts patiently grazing nearby.
Upon your return to the Grand Lodge with the rubbings, maps, journal pages, and the tale of your encounter with Alystair Caskwater, Ambrus Valsin takes your report and looks upon you with pride. ”You did great!,” he gushes uncharacteristically. ”Better at the Society basics than those senior agents, I’d say. I knew you were the right team for this. Go get some rest; I’m sure I’ll have another assignment for you soon.”
