Sorry for messing up the party dynamic, but I'm needing to drop out. I might try again once I've got myself situated. Hope you all enjoy the campaign! Take care!
No no no! no dynamic is being messed up! I'm just trying to share, but no dynamic is harmed! I just get type happy, please don't leave the game!

Your Benevolent Dictator |

To clarify, TLL dropping out has nothing to do with any of you. She wanted to give forum-based roleplay a shot but has found that live gaming is much more up her alley. Rolling virtual dice isn't quite as satisfying. ;-)
I think you'll be fine as a three-person team. Carrion Crown is one of the older Paizo APs, so as long as you're careful, it shouldn't be too terribly difficult. It's classic monster horror, not Lovecraft (although there might be a bit of that later). If it starts getting too tough, I'll make adjustments. ;-)
In regards to the current scene, feel free to keep chatting around the dinner table for as long as you'd like. There's more information to discover about Harrowstone and the Whispering Way, but that'll come with time and further research. There's also the matter of your evening plans - whether they involve searching for the 'false crypt,' going to bed early, or something else entirely. :-)

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Careful.... *sigh* if you think we must.
I'm sad to hear it's not her cup of tea. If she wants to give it a go again happy to let her experiment on us.
I'll try and get something up tonight or in the morning. We'll be spending most of the day in Columbus with the kids and grandkids so I won't be as available during that time, though I might be able to borrow my daughters lap top for a bit.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

definitely want to look for the false crypt, was just making sure folks had a chance to post :)

I don't think any of us know how to shoot a bow.... can we change the arrows to cross bow bolts, or should Sariel take a level in fighter?

Sorsul |

What an amazing haul! If you want to use ranged weapons then please go ahead. Is there a sphere talent that allows your magic to come from the bow? Because against undead I could see that being really powerful.
“ Clarified Strike [strike]
As a standard action, you may make a single ranged or melee attack coupled with a Life sphere ability. This casting cannot be reduced below a standard action, and does not provoke attacks of opportunity, unless as usual if making a ranged attack. If the target is struck by the attack, it is also struck by the Life sphere effect. If using a scatter weapon, the effect only applies to a single target, chosen at the time of attack.”
And gain proficiency with the bow maybe at lvl3 via an equipment talent? Against undead you would delete them with that bow. Or armorist? Full BaB, martial tradition and blended training

But for dipping maybe a Ranger? Most abilities are standard actions and that works great with studied target

And gain proficiency with the bow maybe at lvl3 via an equipment talent? Against undead you would delete them with that bow. Or armorist? Full BaB, martial tradition and blended trainingA feat for an equipment talent may not be a bad idea. Sadly, if I take a martial class at second level, I don't think I get a martial tradition.
In addition, if this is the character's first level in any class, he may select a martial tradition of his choice.
So if I go with a second class, then I would need to use the combat talent for any equipment talent. But fighter gives me all weapons and armor, so maybe spend the equipment talent on some unarmored training.
Just thinking about it :)

Sorsul |

Very good point, I missed that. You are correct that it is only for the first class period you get martial tradition. Fighter is the only dip that works...unless our GM allows the respect rules to swap the levels around.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

I'm cool with the dip in fighter if I choose to go that way. It would allow a couple different things.

Lady Shae Venvu |

Hey guys. I have come down with something and need a few days to recover. Sorry for the delay and Ill post as soon as I feel better.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Take your time and get feeling better, we're not going anywhere.

Sorsul |

Thank you for allowing shadow strike! It’s appreciated
This means when attacking, I may be rolling 3d20.
1 for feint, 1 for the attack, and 1 for perform to make the attack go off.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Take your time, LS hope you get feeling better!

You'll notice "Trust Points" have been added to the campaign header. Ravengro is very suspicious of outsiders - especially exotic folks such as yourselves. Trust Points are a way for me to keep track of the town's overall perception of you. If they fall too low, you'll be run out of town. I've added a list of NPCs to the Campaign tab. They'll naturally show up in various locations each day, but you can also spend an action to seek a specific person out. Like my Skull & Shackles NPCs, each has a personality, hidden secrets, and a minor sidequest. Befriend them, and you'll gain Trust Points - and unlock perks like shop discounts, loot, or access to information.
So are the points assigned to specific folks or just a general number?
Also, if we're making an influence roll will it help with 'trust points' or will we need to specify something different.
Curious about the priest, did the influence rolls have any effect?
Edit: Is there anywhere where we (players or GM) are tracking the information we gather?

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Good questions! Trust Points apply to the town as a whole. They'll increase and decrease regularly depending on your actions and aren't necessarily tied to specific NPCs. You earned points for giving the children candy and keeping the shopkeeper's husband company, for example. You also lost points for not preventing the vandalism (although there was no way to do so aside from a specific nighttime action).
Influencing the priest is difficult, but you did succeed - and gained partial access to the temple library. It's an excellent source of information but requires a high Trust to fully unlock.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Sorry was waiting to see if Lady Shae responds, and didn't get back over until late. I'll get a post up in the morning.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Just a heads up. I'm headed out of town this afternoon. My laptop is broken enough I can't take it with me, so I won't be back online/in games until sometime Sunday afternoon

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Yes, a good post indeed.
I will get a post up sometime today, what do we want to do with the first part of the morning?

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

ok, I think my brain is mush, I'm not happy with the post, but at least he asked a question. Personally I think we should go to the prison, but not apposed to doing research.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

I realize that I might have slowed the game down with the suggestion I made. I’m alright with skipping forward to investigating the prison.
Actually I'd prefer we have more information before we head to the prison, I'm just not sure where to look for it at.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

Cool, since Sariel is already reading for the morning, next series of posts he will speak with the council woman and go talk to the kids 'tomorrow' he will then ask her if he can get to the town hall records.

Lady Shae Venvu |

Sorry for the delay guys! I struggled with bad cramps for the past couple of days and now have a cold, but I am trying to do what I can!

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

You're doing fine, take care of yourself and get feeling better.

Sorsul |

Agreed, I hope you feel better!
Also, isn't it nice to have a campaign about making candy, reading books and entertaining? It's so wonderful. I'm glad that nothing bad will happen, and that there is 0 chance for this to devolve into dozens of deaths and characters with blood up to their elbows. Nope, not at all.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

A quartet of giant stirges swoops out of the rafters. Ignoring Sorsul entirely, they fly straight for Kendra!
So are we in combat rounds, or is there something else going on?

Sorsul |

Which is awesome. I’m going into initiative unless someone has a knowledge check that gives a better option. Can’t risk people coming to harm on a gamble of using the performance. Imagine if that failed…oh the blame!

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

So shall I ask what knowledge checks might possibly give us more information?

Your Benevolent Dictator |

There's no relevant Knowledge check here. Stirges are one of the creatures that can be automatically identified (like goblins, trolls, and dragons), and the answer to "what's going on?" requires information that the characters haven't discovered yet. This is a mystery-solving campaign, after all. ;-)

hmmmm so we need to assume they will attack our friend. Good fun. I'll get thinking.

Sariel Patrick Cornelius |

... stirges are magical beasts, not vermin. It's a common misconception. :-)
I double checked that, but wouldn't Expanded Charm Your charms may affect creatures of any creature type, instead of just your own. This does not allow you to affect creatures immune to mind-affecting effects with your charms. Cover them? They do have an intelligence of one, so I assumed they were susceptible.
