Orlin San Trayne |

Greetings to all. I'll be playing Orlin San Trayne, the mountain man from Estwilde. He's definitely not from the vicinity of Solace, but many years ago, a priest of Habbakuk sacrificed his life for Orlin's - since then, he has sought out any trace of the Old Gods, in hopes of finding a power he can put his faith in, which has brought him to the area.

Torgar Earthbreaker |

Hello all. Torgar is a melancholy dwarf with a reservoir of rage he saves for those who threaten harm to others. His wife was killed and his daughter is missing. Not only is he looking for her but can tend to get protective of those he travels with, particularly if they are a bit younger than his 55-60 years.

Reuben Lupul |

Well, I have a suggestion, but it can be changed if any of you want. Maybe Torgar heard a rumor that his daughter, Isabelle, was taken by the goblins and ogres to a black robe wizard who controlled them. Torgar began to seek out information about this wizard (named Sören Corcilius), and found that Reuben Lupul, a white robe wizard scarred by the firey wrath of that wizard, was also seeking Sören out. At first, Reuben found Torgar's brutal anger distasteful, but soon came to trust Torgar for his strength and resilience in battle and resolve. Reuben and Torgar soon followed the goblin and ogres' trail to Sören's tower. While this was happening, Orlin San Trayne heard rumors of a man who wielded power over the evil races of the world. He tracked down these rumors to their source, an old man who was tortured by Sören, and thought that Sören might be a priest of the "true gods." Even though Orlin didn't want to follow a god of darkness, he thought that a true priest would have knowledge of the true gods, of light and dark. Orlin, Reuben, and Torgar met upon their arrival at the tower, and decided to fight the sorcery of the tower together. They fought their way through the layers of the tower, adding a frightened gully dwarf who was a chef to Sören to their party, and soon reached the pinnacle of the behemoth tower. To Torgar's anger, there was no sign of Isabelle, but Sören recognized Reuben and launched a volley of malicious magic at him. Orlin, however, disrupted the worst of the magic through his eagle-eye shots, and Torgar charged Sören, filled with firey rage. After a firce battle, Sören was near death, and began to pronounce a curse of desolation and destruction upon the adventurers, when Augier slammed into Sören's knees, sending him hurtling through the intricate stained-glass of his summoning room. The fellows in arms all searched for the information they sought, but none was to be found. Orlin was disappointed at finding a wizard, instead of a priest, but he was satisfied with his act of light in the shadowy world. The companions decided to seek out more ways to champion the cause of good, and they began to adventure together, seeking ways to right the wrongs of the world.

If everyone else wants to do it this way, I would be willing to - if the GM wants a less dense shared background, however, perhaps Orlin helped set Augier's broken leg after one of his more dangerous escapades, or maybe Torgar used his knowledge of natural remedies to create a salve for Reuben's burns.
To be perfectly frank, it's not what I would have picked, but if it's what everyone else wants, I won't let my personal preferences get in the way.

Mariel Uth Kaldar |

Mariel uth Kaldar is granddaughter of a knight of the Rose, born of a dalliance between her mother and a Qualanesti Elf when his daughter came to Solace and the surrounding area. Though her mother was rejected when she came home pregnant and it was even worse when she had a half-elf child. The Knight of the Rose was not too happy with that at all but "cared" for his daughter and his grandchild. When the mobs came to destroy the holdings he sent the daughter and granddaughter to Solace in hopes that the elven father would take care of the small family. Her father came in secret a few times and she did spend time with the elves so she is familiar with elven customs and cultures.
Her grandfather had a shrine to the Solamnic Trimvirate, and as a knight of the Rose paid lip service to the Plantinum Dragon. Though there are no clercis in the land she grew up on stories of the gods and has a strong faith. As a result, she has taken in with the Seekers of Solace for she too seeks the true gods.

I just used this as a baseline suggestion, I meant for everyone to be able to change it, or make something new entirely if they wanted. I wasn't trying to make decisions for everyone. If you want something different, I'd be perfectly happy with that as well.

Orlin San Trayne |

Mariel, Nordmaar and Solamnia are historical allies, and Orlin's father was once a member of the Nordmaar Royal Guard before being exiled to Estwilde - he could have been a friend of Mariel's grandfather. Perhaps when the Uth Kaldar family holdings fell, they hid for a time in the elder San Trayne's trading post before making the journey south?

JediJon |

Kadmos came to Abanasinia with his parents as part of a trade caravan. He spent time trying new foods, and lost track of time. When he realized that his family had left him, he began his journey wandering through smaller communities, offering to work for his meals and a place to stay. Rumors of a man named Otik began to reach his ears and he followed those rumors to Solace. Though he is often mistreated or avoided, he follows his Master's advice of treating people how you want to be treated. Sometimes it works, lately though it seems to be getting the local guard or city officials asking him to leave. He is looking forward to meeting this Otik, and trying his ale and potatoes ... though the rumors never said if those were separate items or combined. His advice from his wanderings so far is "NOT to eat anything offered by a Gully Dwarf, or goblin for that matter."

JediJon, you should probably make an alias for your character - most people do when they enter a campaign, to help keep all the character information separate.
If you go up to the My Account button at the top right of the page, the third section down on the left should allow you to view and manage your aliases. If you make a new alias for this character, it should allow you to consolidate the information for your character, put his statblock in an accessible spot, etc.

Guys and gals,
Margret Weiss and Tracy Hickman asked me to buy all the rights to Dragonlance from Wizards of the Coast. So, I'll be buying all the rights to Dragonlance from WotC. I don't know when, but it could be soon. I'll also be buying all the rights to Dungeons and Dragons 3.5e (that's Wizards' idea!). Like I said, it's WotC SOON! Not Paizo soon. Sorry about that.
Anyway, I'll still run this campaign.
