Starting the swinging with 8, but if he goes down the second attack will aim for 5.

Round 3

Icabhod studies the officer for an opening and when he sees one, he stabs.

Icabhod hits Traitorous Officer #3 for 22 damage. Note: Bless and Heroism are both morale bonuses so only add the higher bonus (+2) to attack rolls.

Tychus clocks the officer over the head and he falls to the ground. Three cartoon drakes circle over his head.

Tychus hits Traitorous Officer #4 for 8 damage and he falls prone.

Xallis’ wand refuses to cooperate.

The hound archon cleaves across the enemies in front of him. The first soldier goes down and the other shouts as he is hit.

The hound archon hits Taldan Traitor #8 for 21 damage and kills him. Then he hits Taldan Traitor #5 for 16 damage.

Julania hits the drunk soldier next to her over the head. He manages to raise his arm to block a second strike.

Julania hits Taldan Traitor #6 for 9 damage. Her second attack misses.

Henrika wrote:
Since Henrika technically moves after Tychus, can I have her move forward to take up the position that Tychus is vacating instead of drinking her potion? If she doesn't do that, Tychus is going to be stuck on the front line next round when the officer moves up.

Yes, I’ll move your token up.

Round 4

Jack moves up next to Henrika. He looks briefly down the corridor and sees Ichabod struggling with another officer at the far end. What's he doing all the way over there? he thinks, and shrugs. He lunges at the Traitor, trying to push past him into the corridor beyond.

Jack double moves, and attempts to move through Traitor #4's square. I think this is an overrun maneuver. Jack doesn't have Improved Overrun, so this provokes an attack of opportunity, but he does have an ability called sidestep that adds 1 to his AC vs this attack. Henrika's defending sword should also help protect him, and the feint should apply to his CMD as well.

Overrun:
As a standard action, taken during your move or as part of a charge, you can attempt to overrun your target, moving through its square. You can only overrun an opponent who is no more than one size category larger than you. If you do not have the Improved Overrun feat, or a similar ability, initiating an overrun provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. If your overrun attempt fails, you stop in the space directly in front of the opponent, or the nearest open space in front of the creature if there are other creatures occupying that space.

When you attempt to overrun a target, it can choose to avoid you, allowing you to pass through its square without requiring an attack. If your target does not avoid you, make a combat maneuver check as normal. If your maneuver is successful, you move through the target’s space. If your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD by 5 or more, you move through the target’s space and the target is knocked prone. If the target has more than two legs, add +2 to the DC of the combat maneuver attack roll for each additional leg it has.

Maneuver (overrun) vs Traitor #4, bull's strength: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 2 = 17

Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

The officer on the porch swings his scimitar high. Jack ducks under it and bodies the officer to the ground.

Technically, I don't think you can charge through allies spaces, but I recognize the tight quarters you are fighting in, so I'll say its okay. Officer #4's attack of opportunity misses Jack. Jack's overrun exceeds the enemy's CMD by 5 so he knocks the enemy prone.

Botting Icabhod

Icabhod – Rapier, heroism, studied combat vs. Traitorous Officer #3: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 2 + 3 = 19
Damage, studied combat: 1d6 + 8 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 8 + (1, 4) = 18

Icabhod holds his ground and stabs the officer a third time. Riddled with critical wounds, the officer goes down.

Icabhod hits Traitorous Officer #3 for 18 damage and kills him.

Tychus wrote:
Study Target, spending a Grit point to ignore Cover penalties. If #4 isn't alive anymore, switch to #5

Since officer #4 is prone and harder to hit with ranged attacks, Tychus can switch to #5.

With the officer on the porch on the ground, Tychus turns his crossbow into the barracks and hits a traitor within.

Tychus hits Taldan Traitor #5 for 16 damage.

Xallis’ missiles don’t care if the enemy is prone and hits unerringly.

Xallis hits Traitorous Officer #4 for 8 damage.

Julania swings her warhammer straight down and splatters the soldier’s head like a pumpkin. Then she takes a step towards the next enemy but he weapon gets tangled in the bunks.

Julania hits Taldan Traitor #6 with a critical hit for 44 damage and kills him. Her second attack will go against #5 but misses.

Suffering under the hound archon’s aura of menace, the traitors make easy targets. The hound archon cleaves his sword back in the other direction and takes out another enemy.

Hound Archon hits Taldan Traitor #5 for 20 damage and kills him. Then hits Taldan Traitor #7 for 19 damage.

As the traitorous officer begins to push himself into a sitting position Henrika’s upward slice knocks him back flat to the ground.

Henrika’s bluff succeeds. Between the bluff and the officer being prone (and also his challenge against Tychus lowers his AC against others), her roll of 16 will hit, she doesn’t need to use a reroll. The second attack, she rolled a 1 though. Henrika hits Traitorous Officer #4 for 25 damage.

Taldan Traitor #7 – Scimitar, aura of menace vs. Hound Archon’s AC 19: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 - 2 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The last traitor in the barracks shouts in triumph when his sword hits the hound archon only to despair that his weapon can’t penetrate the outsider’s flesh.

Taldan Traitor #7 hits the hound archon but deals 0 damage after damage resistance. However, hitting the hound archon does remove the aura of menace. But it’s not likely to matter much.

”I’ve got to warn Jaliessa!” You hear a soldier shout in the distance. Traitor #9 runs to the west end of the mess hall where he encounters an officer coming down from upstairs. (They are too far to hear any further conversation.)

The other traitor in the mess hall moves over and opens the eastern door.

Officer #1 disappears up to the second floor. Officer #2, after warning the other soldiers turns around to rejoin the fight.

The officer on the ground tries to stand again, which provokes.

Jack AoO, bless, flanking vs. Traitorous Officer #4: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 30

Jack mercilessly hits the officer with a downward chop, killing him before he can get back onto his feet.

Jack’s attack of opportunity is a critical hit that deals 23 damage to Traitorous Officer #4 and kills him.

The western officers shout to Jaliessa to hurry and draw and drink potions.

Jack sees another officer coming down the corridor and with a look back at Henrika to confirm he decides to continue forward. He runs towards him and shoves at him to get past.

Only a single move this time, but still an overrun maneuver, so it provokes. He gets a +1 to his AC from sidestep.

Maneuver (overrun) vs Traitor #2, bless, bull's strength: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 22

Once on the other side of the officer, Jack attempts to pull the man's hat down over his eyes, temporarily blinding him.

Maneuver (dirty trick: blinded) vs Traitor #2, bless, bull's strength, dirty trick bonuses: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 33

Dirty Trick:
You can attempt to hinder a foe in melee as a standard action. This maneuver covers any sort of situational attack that imposes a penalty on a foe for a short period of time. Examples include kicking sand into an opponent’s face to blind him for 1 round, pulling down an enemy’s pants to halve his speed, or hitting a foe in a sensitive spot to make him sickened for a round. The GM is the arbiter of what can be accomplished with this maneuver, but it cannot be used to impose a permanent penalty, and the results can be undone if the target spends a move action. If you do not have the Improved Dirty Trick feat or a similar ability, attempting a dirty trick provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver.

If your attack is successful, the target takes a penalty. The penalty is limited to one of the following conditions: blinded, dazzled, deafened, entangled, shaken, or sickened. This condition lasts for 1 round. For every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD, the penalty lasts 1 additional round. This penalty can usually be removed if the target spends a move action. If you possess the Greater Dirty Trick feat, the penalty lasts for 1d4 rounds, plus 1 round for every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD. In addition, removing the condition requires the target to spend a standard action.

Round 4

Malphene stabs the traitor again. The traitor grabs onto the bedpost to stabilize himself.

Malphene hits Taldan Traitor #7 for 4 damage.

Round 5

Having finally received confirmation of additional intruders, Jalissa makes haste to join the fight.

Traitorous Officer #2 Attack of Opportunity vs. Jack’s AC 21, defending: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Jack pushes his way past the officer (but doesn’t knock him down). The sight of Jack rushing him terrifies the man who nearly drops his weapon. Then he yanks the soldier’s turban over his eyes and entangles him in a way that will take some time to remove.

Jack’s bull rush is a success. The traitorous officer’s attack of opportunity against Jack is a miss. Jack’s dirty trick exceeds the enemy’s CMD by 10, blinding him for 3 rounds.

Icabhod opens the door to the kitchen. Four halfling servants stop what they are doing and turn in his direction. They immediately raise their hands in surrender. One says, ”We don’t want any trouble. We are just humble servants, not fighters. Please spare us.”

Xallis rocks the blinded officer with balls of force. The officer grunts but is focused on getting the turban off his head.

Xallis hits Traitorous Officer #2 for 6 damage.

The hound archon’s greatsword cleaves through both man and bedpost, cutting the last traitor in half and dropping the top bunk bed down on top of his corpse.

The hound archon gets a critical hit on Taldan Traitor #7 for 38 damage and kills him. I used the second attack roll as the crit confirmation. Since the hound archon only needed to make a single attack, he can take a move action if you want him to.

Henrika slashes the flanked officer. He spins wildly, unsure where the next attack will be coming from.

Henrika hits Traitorous Officer #2 for 23 damage.

The halflings in the kitchen all move to huddle in the corner and hope that no one kills them.

The halfling servants are non-combatants so I’m not giving them initiative. BUT if you attack them, I’ll roll initiative for them because then they’ll fight back or run.

The Taldan traitors (#9 and #10) see Jaliessa’s presence and take up positions to make a stand in the wider mess hall.

Initiative Rolls
Jondus: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Grassling: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

The officer (#1) who ran upstairs reaches additional reinforcements who will join the fight.

The grasslings will delay initiative to act after Henrika.

Traitorous Officer #2 – Scimitar vs. Henrika’s AC 22, defending: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Miss Chance 50%: 1d100 ⇒ 87
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

The blinded officer swings his scimitar in what he thinks is Henrika’s direction but his weapon catches harmlessly in the wooden wall.

Traitorous Officer #2 misses Henrika.

Traitorous Officers #5 and #6 also move to take up positions in the mess hall.

All checks and activities that rely on vision (such as reading and Perception checks based on sight) automatically fail. All opponents are considered to have total concealment (50% miss chance) against the blinded character. Blind creatures must make a DC 10 Acrobatics skill check to move faster than half speed. Creatures that fail this check fall prone.

Jack darts a glance down the corridor, from which he hears the sounds of movement. He starts to report out loud, then decides that he doesn't want to reveal anything about their positioning to the enemy. Instead he whispers to Henrika through her active message spell. "Sounds like trouble brewing ahead, I would venture a guess that they are settling in and preparing for a showdown in the big room with all the tables. Whatever it is, it'll be a big mess." He guffaws to himself at his joke, and then sees about finishing off the officer struggling to remove his hat.

I think the enemy can easily undo Jack's dirty tricks by spending a move action, since Jack doesn't have Greater Dirty Trick yet. It's still somewhat effective when Henrika goes immediately after him, since she can take advantage of the trick before the enemy has a chance to respond on their turn.

Attack Traitor #2 (falchion), bless, bull's strength, flanking, Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 30

Additional damage (magic, slashing), bull's strength, Power Attack: 2d4 + 5 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 5 + 3 + 6 = 17

If that fells the officer, Jack will move back down the corridor 20' towards the others.

I'm guessing Jack's critical will finish off the officer, but Henrika can add 3 damage to it through her painful stare if it's not quite enough. Oh wait, no she can't, because she used it last round and she doesn't get it again until it's her turn.

Henrika nods at the message Jack has sent her and conveys it to the others she can see down the corridor. "Sir Tychus, Sir Xallis, Julania-- Jack says he can hear preparations ahead. The remaining soldiers are likely gathering in the large room at the northern end of the compound."

She takes this opportunity to drink the potion of bull's strength she considered taking earlier, and she also moves back down to regroup with the others. When she sees Trevor, she also conveys Jack's intelligence to him. "Sir Trevor, Jack says he can hear preparations ahead. The remaining soldiers are likely gathering in the large room at the northern end of the compound."

Yes, Jack's critical hit will kill the officer. I'll do a full post after everyone goes, but I'm letting you know now, since whether the officer is alive would probably affect a lot of people's actions. So anyone going after Jack, if they need to move past the officer's space, can do so.

Grassling Lore

Knowledge (Nature) DC 16:

•A grassling’s type is fey.
•Grasslings are sneaky, inquisitive fey creatures that populate wild grasslands. Resembling a crude, four- armed doll made of long blades of green grass, a grassling’s body contains virtually no flesh or muscle- just fresh, tough grass. Despite their fibrous construction, grasslings are made up of magic and whimsy as much as they are of vegetation; they are fey creatures, not plants. Each of a grassling’s four arms ends in a hand with grass blades that protrude like claws. These claws are supernaturally sharp and can slice flesh with ease, although grasslings prefer stealth and deception to direct combat. Their excellent reflexes allow them to twist away from danger with great agility and reach hiding spots before an observer can blink. Grasslings are capricious and delight in playing pranks-which range from harmless to mean spirited-upon larger creatures.

Knowledge (Nature) DC 21:

•Grasslings have a number of immunities common to plant creatures, including immunity to paralysis, poison, polymorph, sleep effects, and stunning.
•Grasslings can move through any sort of undergrowth without taking damage or suffering any other impairment.

Jack misses Taldan Traitor #9.

Now that someone is in the mess hall, you can see the assembled warriors and can see that Jaliessa has also summoned an air elemental to join the fight.

Air Elemental Lore

Knowledge (Planes) DC 13:

•An air elemental’s type is outsider (air, elemental, extraplanar).
•Air elementals are fast, flying creatures made of living air. Primitive and territorial, they resent being summoned or doing the bidding of mortals, and much prefer to spend their time on the Plane of Air, swooping and racing through the endless skies.

Knowledge (Planes) DC 18:

•An air elemental has damage reduction which cannot be overcome.
•Airborne creatures have a penalty on attack and damage rolls against an air elemental.
•An air elemental can transform into a whirlwind.
•Air elementals speak Auran.

Elemental Traits

Knowledge (Planes) Automatic:

•Immunity to bleed, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.
•Not subject to critical hits or flanking. Does not take additional damage from precision-based attacks, such as sneak attack.

Taldan Traitor #10 – Scimitar vs. Julania’s AC 23: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The traitor near the door swings at Julania as she slides by but hits nothing but air.

Taldan Traitor #10’s attack of opportunity against Julania is a miss.

Then two four-armed child-sized creatures made of long green stalks of loosely woven grass rush down the stairs behind you.

Tychus was ready for them and fires a bolt into the leading enemy. The enemy takes the hit and keeps on charging.

Tychus hits Grassling #1 for 19 damage.

Grassling #1 – Acrobatics DC 25: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22

Hound Archon Attack of Opportunity vs Grassling #1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17

The grassling tries to tumble past the hound archon but the archon stands like a strong bulwark and blocks its passage. The archon strikes back, injuring the grassling further.

The grassling #1 attemps to Acrobatics through the Hound Archon’s space but fails, provoking an attack of opportunity. The hound archon hits the grassling for 17 damage.

The second grassling ducks low while the archon is distracted and squeezes past via the officer’s mess hall doorway. Once standing in front of their opponents, the grasslings vibrate rapidly making an intimidating rattling sound like dried grass blowing in the wind.

Both grasslings had to double move. #2 would also provoke but the hound archon doesn’t have a second of attack of opportunity.

Taldan Traitor #9 – Scimitar vs. Jack’s AC 22: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

The traitor in front of Jack sidesteps and swings his sword. This time, it’s Jack’s turn to block.

Taldain Traitor #9 takes a 5-ft. step and attacks Jack and misses.

Taldan Traitor #10 – Scimitar vs. Henrika’s AC 23: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

The next traitor holds his ground and attacks Henrika. His sword passes through an illusion.

Taldan Traitor #10 misses Henrika, but his attack was within 5 so Henrika’s mirror image is destroyed.

Back over by Tychus and the hound archon, and officer comes down the stairs behind the grasslings.

Traitorous Officer #5, haste – Scimitar vs. Jack’s AC 22: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 1 = 18
Damage, Vital Strike: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12

The next officer steps up to Jack and makes an attack. This officer moves with a speed unseen in the other officers faced thus far. But, Jack also had an illusion which takes the hit.

Traitorous Officer #5 misses Jack, but his attack was within 5 so Jack’s mirror image is destroyed.

Traitorous Officer #6 Climb DC 5: 1d20 + 4 - 7 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 7 = 11

Traitorous Officer #6 – Scimitar, haste, high ground vs. Julania’s AC 23: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 11 + 1 + 1 = 30
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Traitorous Officer #6 – Cleave, haste, high ground vs. Henrika’s AC 23: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 11 + 1 + 1 = 32
Displacement 50%: 1d100 ⇒ 1
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

The last officer hoists himself up onto the dining table and swings his sword in a wide cleaving attack. He cuts through Julania and would have cuts through Henrika as well if not for her displaced image.

Traitorous Officer #6 climbs into the table and cleaves Julania and Henrika. He hits Julania for 7 damage and misses Henrika due to her displacement spell.

Okay, I think I got everybody. If I get anyone’s ACs wrong, let me know, there’s a lot of bonuses floating around.

Godspike: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Dmg.: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Round7

Unfortunately, Malphene will trigger attacks of opportunity from the three traitors she moves past. I’d roll her an Acrobatics check to avoid but the DC is higher than she can achieve. But, the enemies won’t be able to use attacks of opportunity on anyone else until their next turn. So Trevor can move through safely and it may free up some other people to move too.

Taldan Traitor #9 AoO vs. Malphene’s AC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Traitorous Officer #5 AoO, haste vs. Malphene’s AC 17: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 11 + 1 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Traitorous Officer #6 AoO, haste vs. Malphene’s AC 17: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 11 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Malphene’s reckless charge is rewarded with three bloody cuts. But she gives one back as well.

Taldan Traitor #9, and Traitorous Officers #5 and #6 each hit with attacks of opportunity against Malphene for a total of 22 damage. Malphene hits Traitorous Officer #5 for 8 damage. (Malphene should get +2 more to her attack roll for haste +1 and bless +1. Her attack is a hit regardless.)

Trevor follows into the room and stabs at the southern officer. The quickened officer twists at an angle and Trevor’s rapier scrapes harmlessly across his armor.

Trevor attacks Traitorous Officer #6 and misses. (Trevor also should get +2 to hit attack roll for haste and bless. He misses even with adding in the +2 bonus. Also, the Traitorous Officers and Taldan Traitors in this room are evil-aligned, so you can add the +2d6 holy damage against them. Jaliessa, her companion Anua, and the elemental do not have the evil-alignment.)

Round 8

Next to come down the stairs is a lean, powerfully built man with a sharp nose, close-cropped black hair, and a forward hunch that makes him look a bit like a predatory bird. He carries a large earth breaker is both hands as he stalks forward. He calls to Tychus, ”I am Jondus Staubel. You think you and that outsider can stand alone against my might? Prepare yourself to meet my hammer.”

Jondus double moved to get to his position.

Jaliessa shouts, ”Intruders! This operation has cost me everything! You will not take it from me! Die!” She incants a spell, weaving her hand in an intricate pattern. A symbol of Erastil briefly flashes then a column of holy fire erupts from floor to ceiling around those to the east, burning enemies and allies alike.

Spellcraft DC 19:
Flame Strike

Damage: 11d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 2, 6, 4, 1, 3, 6) = 37

Reflex Saves:

Henrika, haste: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 = 19
Jack, haste: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5
Icabhod, heroism: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 2 = 24
Julania, haste: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 = 14
Malphene, haste: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 1 = 20
Traitorous Officer #6, haste: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 + 1 = 15
Taldan Traitor #9: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

The spell does 37 damage, half fire, half untyped. Reflex for half. For the allies, Henrika, Icabhod, and Malphene pass and take 18 damage each. (I don’t think anyone has fire resistance.) Jack and Julania take the full 37 damage. Traitorous Officer #6 fails and takes 37 damage. Taldan Traitor #9 passes and has evasion so takes 0 damage. If Henrika or Xallis want to use a hero point to try rerolling for Jack or Julania, they can. The DC is 16.

Anua – Gore vs. Trevor’s AC 21: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (5, 1) + 18 = 24

Anua – Gore vs. Trevor’s AC 21: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (4, 5) + 18 = 27

Then Jaliessa’s ram bounds forward and rams its horns into Trevor’s gut.

Anua hits Trevor once for 24 damage.

Finally, the air elemental soars straight ahead, over the head of the traitor, and throws a fist of solidified air at Henrika’s face.

Air Elemental – Slam vs. Henrika’s AC 23: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Henrika ducks down under the attack.

Air Elemental misses Henrika.

Jack grimaces. "Spells," he mutters in a magical whisper to Henrika. "Hardly fair when they have them too!" Knowing that his number is probably up if the former lieutenant has another one prepared, he decides to make hay while his thresher is sharp, so to speak. He swings his falchion twice at the badly injured traitor on the table.

Henrika feints her opponent by seeming to attack the creature flying over his head, then chopping her sword down toward the traitor's neck. She mentally directs the sword to protect Jack. (I'd try to protect Trevor if I could, but I think he's 15' away, which is just out of range.)

Casting her eye about for more dangerous opponents, she transfers her hypnotic stare to the air elemental. (Swift action)

She calls out to the lieutenant, "It surprises me that a follower of Erastil would countenance working with traitors and criminals to sabotage the local community. Perhaps your operation has failed for other reasons."
