”Hit the deck!”, cries Molly, as she and the Cap’n avoid the worst of the blast.

Then they advance toward their remaining foe. Molly casts another spell, engulfing a rusty blade nearby in that now-familiar green aura. It rises from the floor, and flies at the monstrosity before them.

Fran easily tumbles past, but fails to stick the big guy as she nearly drops her rapier. Krazza motions for Gyagati to attack the giant as well as the serpent bites strips of rotten flesh off.

Fran stabs the undead giant and it finally falls! ts heavy body crashes to the ground, knocking large cloud of dust into the air as it crumbles to ash.

Triumphant kobold cheers echo down the sewer tunnels. The kobolds, led by Chief Yiddlepode and Pethjun, return to their post outside the meeting site to tend the wounds of their warriors and boast of their victory.

Everything in the room of this meeting site is in poor condition, making it quite difficult to find any sort of clues.

Examining the zombie you find a single stitched portion of its flesh is completely unburnt and feels like it contains something. Inside this skin pocket is a scorched pierce of hide decorated with a strange, scribbled drawing of an obelisk.

You don’t discover any sign of Drandle Dreng in the chamber or any of the surrounding tunnels. His fate remains a mystery.

"I do have a couple of healing biscuits," Ida offers the injured, "though only two of them. I could treat you the slow way, but I'm hardly an expert."

She's looking over the room as she's talking. So much to see!

"YAH-HAH! Our might is undeniable." Krazza cheers, running up to Gyagati with arms raised.

He just shakes his head at the things in the room.

In tandem, the serpent-like dragon shakes his head as he floats around the room.

Fran scans the room but doesn't really make heads or tails of anything. She remains silent...

While the others are investigating, Molly tries to patch herself up.

"Ows...that didn't work so wells," Pooka winces, ears still ringing from the blow she took. "But it's deads, agains, so there's that!"

The goblin carefully begins looking around the room with Ida and some of the others...

Pooka actually seems to seriously consider tasting the slime for a few moments before thinking better of it and shaking her head. "Betters nots. Coulds be, I's dunnos...boogers or somethings."

"Oh heys, I's seens something like this befores. On displays at the Blakros Museums - and ons a loan from us. The Pathfinder Society, I means."

Pooka's expression darkens as she examines the scorched hide. "Hey, so...this hides was treated with fire-resistant secretions from eshlen flowers and comes from an Iobarian ashback bears. Eshlen flowers are commons in Iobaria, particularly the notoriouslys flammable Finadar Forest. I's seen something likes this befores too..."

Though Pooka isn't able to place the undead creature, her eyes widen as Ida shares what she's able to determine. "Oh nos...not those guys agains! Whys would someone bring bones all the ways here to makes a skellington out of it?"

Finishing your look over of the Meeting site you join the Kobolds back through their lair. They seem full of energy and are quite boastful of their battle. "Did you see that crispy corpse and those flaming eyeballs?"

You have two potential objectives:

Ulfgar blanches as the "flesh pocket" is found. He shakes his head and sheathes his clan dagger, though he keeps his waraxe at hand, for the moment.

He looks around but for the most part just listens closely as the others apply their knowledge and skills to the scene.

When decision time comes, he points to the coin.

"It sure was somethings, all right," Pooka nods as the kobolds chatter excitedly about the battle. When it becomes apparent that they've got some options on where to take their investigation next, the goblin thinks on it for a moment and then nods.

"I's agreeing with Ulfgar. We shoulds go ahead and visit the Sleepless Suns first to sees if they knows anything. Thens we can go to the museum and ask about the obelisks."

"That is what we were told to do next," Ida agrees, "though one could argue that pursuing the lead we found is still part of this first step. I don't see why we can't do both, though."

”Sounds like a plan, then”, says Molly. ”Let’s check in with the boss”

"All of them are good choices! If the coin is what you want, let's see how the Suns can help us!"

The Foreign Quarter is a melting pot of cultures, peoples, and architecture, with densely packed housing and colorful thoroughfares. This district is popular among visitors and foreign immigrants. As you travel through this neighborhood, you overhear snippets of conversation in dozens of languages and see visitors from across Golarion.

The Sleepless Suns operate out of Utterhome, a precinct located in a renovated community center. A steady stream of people pass through the entry room, including guards, medics, citizens, and other workers, many engaged in conversation. The front desk is staffed by a young shoony with scruffy red fur.

"Welcome to Utterhome. How can I help you?"

"Thank you for your warm welcome! We are on an important mission and need to speak with Shristi Melipdra with haste. It is about something we discovered. Could you please arrange that for us?" Krazza says putting on a regal display as he stands on his tippy claws.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

The shoony smiles and inclines her snout at an aged Vudrani man with a short-cropped beard and gray hair pulled into a neat topknot. Despite his obvious age, the man appears fit and healthy. At the Shoony's gesture, the man strides over to you, extending his calloused hand for a handshake. "I am Shristi Melipdra, Commander of the Sleepless Suns. What are your names and how can I be of assitance?" He asks curiously.

"Ida Tappleby, with the Pathfinder Society. Biscuit? That one shouldn't be too spicy. We're investigating some odd events witnessed by our associates, the Sewer Dragons. They found a badge belonging to your unit, and we were hoping you might have an idea how it came to be down there or who might have lost it."

"Francine Quickfingers. We found this here coin and we were wondering if you could tell us the significance"

”Black Molly”, she says, tipping her hat.

”Cap’n Silverbeard”, she adds, nudging her head toward the phantom next to her.

”We’re with them”

Ulfgar stowed his axe once they got out of the sewers. It gave people the wrong idea if you walked around with a weapon out on city streets. After all, how can you tell a good guy with an axe from a bad guy with an axe until they've chopped their first person?

When they are addressed by Melipdra, he simply gives a respectful nod.

He takes a look at the badge, flipping it all around. "'Fraid this is nothing more than a counterfeit. The color, weight, and detailing are all slightly off." He shows you some of the real badges of legitimate members of the Sleepless Suns and you can now easily see the discrepancies.

Next he takes ahold of the coin. Shristi’s lips turn down in concern. “This is the unholy sigil of the demon lord Urxehl, father of trolls. He heralds natural disasters and controls forest fires. I admit, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen a coin like this. I recently disbanded a cult of demon-worshippers that were sacrificing their victims to a troll near the Docks. They carried coins like these. I’d hoped we captured them all, but if coins remain in circulation, I worry some evaded capture.”

“The cultists were meeting in a hidden shrine dedicated to Urxehl. I’ve ordered the area closed until it’s been properly chronicled, so the site’s still pristine. I’ll give you directions if you make sure to tread lightly."

"My my, a counterfeit badge is almost more interesting than a legitimate one. Do you know anyone who'd impersonate your officers?

"And yes, we can certainly promise you that!"

"Krazza! The dragonblooded! And Gyagati, a great Skydragon!" he proudly beams a he introduces his companion.

The kobold gasps at the news.

"Sacrifices? And TROLLS? Our friend might be in big big dragon sized trouble. Please let us see the area...we will be diligent."

Gyagati whispers something in his ear and he thinks for a moment, [b]"Why would someone make a fake badge?"[/b"

“I worry over its meaning, myself,” Shristi admits solemnly. “It could indicate they planned to target or infiltrate the Sleepless Suns. Perhaps they already have a cultist hidden among our ranks. I suspect it was also sign—a coded message that indicated to other cultists their meeting place was in the Foreign Quarter.” Shristi shrugs. “Discerning the reason for the badge’s presence will be a priority when I next speak with the cultists.”

Shristi nods his head. "By all means investigate the shrine area where the cultists were meeting at."

"This mess is gettings stickier and stickier," Pooka scowls. "Now we's got the shrine ands the museums to investigates...but least we's got two leads instead of nones at all. I's good with going either place but maybes we should see the shrine firsts since it was a crime scenes. Museums gonna be there no matter whats...I think. Maybes. Museums pretty strange too, from what I's heard..."

”Aye, the stuff in a museum’s already old”, says Molly, ”but a fresh altar? Let’s get there ‘fore the blood dries!”

"I'm with you!" Fran replies, "Let's head to where the action is!"

Ulfgar nods and sets off for the altar.

The cult’s shrine is a short walk south of Utterhome, on the edge of the Foreign Quarter where it transitions to the Docks district. The shrine entrance is a nondescript shed in a dead-end alley. A broken padlock sits on the ground by the shed door, indicating the shrine was recently disturbed.

"Uh-oh. Is the locks broken from the raid or has someones been here since thens?" Pooka whispers. She carefully draws out her shortsword. "I's gonna see if I's can gets closer and have a peeks through the door."

She cautiously approaches the door to the shed, trying to see if she can get close enough to hear anything or see if anyone might be lurking just inside.

"I don't think the guards would leave a broken padlock, so.. although Shristi didn't give us a key, either. Not sure what to make of it."

”Well they raided a cult lair”, says Molly. ”Don’t think they would’a used kid gloves”

"If they are still around...going to have to show them our might." Krazza says tapping Gaygati and nodding his head.

As you crack the door open a puff of smoke pours out and dissipates into the sky. A spiral staircase leads belowground into the shrine.

"Gah!"

Pooka jumps back as a puff of smoke more or less erupts right in her face and then drifts off into the sky. After hacking and coughing for a moment, she lifts her sword.

"That's was weirds but it doesn't look like there's a fires or anything," she announces. "Just stairs goings down. Shall we goes?"

”Aye, full speed ahead!”, declares Silverbeard.

The shrine is dark and stinks of smoke, with coarse masonry walls coated in heavy soot and a 15-foot-tall ceiling. The fitted stone floor is obscured by mounds of burnt wood, broken furniture, ash, and soot.

Two hallways off this chamber end in mounds of rubble. A few crumbling stone pillars carved to depict flames still stand throughout this destroyed room— pillars nearly identical to those at the meeting site. A large iron brazier large enough to hold a person sits on a platform at the east end of the hall, surrounded by a channel of flammable black sludge and accessed by a small ramp.

As you enter the chamber several skeletons reform from deep within the rubble and look poised to attack.

Fran looks distastefully at the skeletons as she draws her weapon, knowing that her rapier will not be as effective against critters with no flesh to poke. Nonetheless, she dances for for the Red Skeleton.

Ida moves forward and hurls a small clay pot at the nearest skeleton, before stepping back against the wall.

Fran fascinates one of the mindless skeletons as she shifts further into the room. Ida tosses an alchemist fire into the room. It misses the skeleton as it breaks across the burning ash pile. 1 Splash but they have Resist Fire 5.

Gyagati surges forth as he breathes lightning across the skeletons.

The skeletons must have been hiding within the ash piles for some time now as they slowly shamble free from the burning piles.
