Slight correction to Maidie's count, it's 4 skelebobs, 2 skellies in armor, and 1 Asshat-- I mean 1 Asar.
Meep peeks into the room while the door is cracked. She looks at her bow and shortsword.
"Meep want to help. Meep no hurt skell-a-ton," she says quietly looking at the others as she tries to pronounce the strange word and wonders if she got it right. "What does Meep do?"
Betzolte Ironhame |
Betzolte nods at Maidie's suggestion, and goes over to Casina.
"You first."
She casts the spell and transforms Casina into a battlefield behemoth once again. Then she goes over to Moon.
"Your turn."
She holds up her fist, the pair of gold and iron bands woven together in a simple unity of beauty and utility easily visible, and begins to chant quietly. Runes of green light begin to appear on the ring, one after the other, slowly flowing around one another as the undulating bands do, until they reach where they began and the spell completes, granting Moon the same stature as Casina.

"Meep want to help. Meep no hurt skell-a-ton," she says quietly looking at the others as she tries to pronounce the strange word and wonders if she got it right. "What does Meep do?"
Moon gives it a moment of thought. "You've done a lot, already. Does anyone have more healing potions? Your job, Meep, is to hold healing potions. If anyone gets knocked out, you pour a potion down their throat, OK?"
DM-Salsa |
Everyone post in discussion how many healing potions you're handing to Meep, please.
"Meep can do that," the little goblin says as she begins quickly rearranging everything on her person to make it easier to reach the potions.

Round: Surprise!
‘Full’ Moon (enlarged) pushes through the suddenly narrow hallway and advances into the room while drawing her absolutely massive elven blade.
MOVE: move and draw weapon
Round: 1
Given the distance they still have to cover… Moon charges forward – her steps shaking the floor - and slashes at the nearest zombie, trying to carve a path to Asar.

Asar watches in shock as one of his mooks is scattered across the chamber when Moon charges in and shatters the skeleton.
Congrats! The skeleton is not just dead, he's Dead. Dead! DEAD!
DM-Salsa |
Sadly, Casina's only going to make it 60 feet into the main chamber. She's got heavy armor on.
Casina follows Moon into the chamber, her eyes blazing and promising a second death to all of the undead, one that's going to stick this time.
Maidie, Grob, and Betz are up!
Grobradon |
Surprise Round Grobradon races forward, the armor he wears protective but heavy and slowing him just a bit.
Double move
Round 1
Sling in hand, he moves forward again, then whips a bullet at a foe. Maybe he can at least soften one up.

Single move in surprise round, then double move.
"You want our heads, Asar? Well, here they are! Hope you don't mind that they are still attached..." she taunts, while carefully looking for suitable targets for her fire spell.
DM-Salsa |
Just waiting on Betz.
Grob, you only get one action in the surprise round. You can move in 90 ft. or you can move 60 ft. and take a shot with the sling.

Grobradon's stone shatters another skeleton's skull, dropping it like a puppet that had its strings cut.

Meep hurries into the room behind Maidie, one hand already on a potion vial.
Asar sneers at the heroes as they taunt and mock him.
"I shall have your heads soon enough," he growls before running off the dais and waving his hand at his remaining lieutenant. "Come with me. The rest of you, Kill her." he points to Moon. The lieutenant follows as the other three skeletons rush Moon. Over extended by her charge, she isn't able to defend herself effectively and all three of the undead land telling blows leaving the ranger staggered.
Moon takes two crits and a whopping 20 points of piercing damage.
Everyone's up!
Grobradon |
Grobradon sees Moon take a tremendous amount of punishment and weaves closer, flinging again. He can't heal anyone anymore save maybe with a potion, but what he can do is even the odds if he gets lucky.
Drawing on something he doesn't understand, he fires the sling one more time, whipping it forward hoping to at least soften one of the foes surrounding Moon.

This is why I take Combat Reflexes as soon as I possibly can! For the record, I’d like to point out that Moon did not taunt the BBEG and still got targeted. I think Asar is a racist and this is a racially motivated attack so I’ll be taking a +5/+5 on whooping his ass for the rest of the combat. :D
Round: 2
Moon realizes the problem with being big is you present a large target… which proves true as she is stabbed a couple of time. She counter-attacks with her blade and realizes another problem with being so large… your blows can be ponderous.

Skeleton Reflex DC 11: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
The skeleton that Moon and Maidie attack proves to be surprisingly nimble. It dodges Moon's strike and twists out of the worst of the flames from Maidie's wand, barely even getting singed.
Good grief. Why can't I roll like that with my characters?
Betzolte Ironhame |
Betzolte is slightly miffed at the impressive display of destruction her friends unleashed before she could even get a swing in, but she brushes it aside, knowing her magic had facilitated it and this was the time for tactics, not glory-seeking.
"I mean, he WAS pathetic before considering how Kassen kicked his arse while he was alive. Can't imagine he's improved much just sitting in this Crypt for so long!" she quips as she trundles up to the skeleton Moon and Maidie are fighting, hoping to finish it off!

Whatever curse seems to be afflicting the heroes of Kassen seems to have spread to Asar's forces, however, as neither of the remaining skeletons lands a hit. Meep runs up behind Moon, pulling out a potion as she does so. Casina marches straight towards the skeleton that Betzolte had attacked and with both hands on her morningstar crushes the blighted undead into the stone floor with a mighty overhead swing.
Meanwhile, Asar and his Lieutenant run deeper into the vaults.
Party up! Sorry Grob. My head wasn't on straight.
Grobradon |
Grobradon wishes they were above ground. The entangle would be really handy to stop Asar and his lt from getting away, "Like following a snake down its hole... be careful" He warns the others as he moves further and FLINGS his sling again.

DM-Salsa |
With all of the skeletons in the first chamber dead, Casina and Meep follow Betzolte and Maidie into the next chamber. As the Heroes of Kassen chase after Asar, they see him and his lieutenant duck into the long passageways at the back of the chamber. They hear the two skeletons chant in unison in some foul language that makes their ears feel as if they are bleeding.
"Rise, my soldiers," Asar commands and two skeletons emerge for the niches next to the two skeletal champions.
Two new opponents enter the fray.

Meep, seeing Casina charging up behind her, cuts across the passage and hides behind Betzolte as she fishes another potion out just in case. Meanwhile, Casina rumbles past as fast as her legs can carry her, angling to get around Maidie.
Asar's newly risen minions move to meet the heroes of Kassen as Asar and his lieutenant move on to the next niche. Their chant continues as two more skeletons rise from death.
Everyone's up!
Grobradon |
Grobradon does not stop, his feet carrying him as fast as they can. Finally he closes the gap between himself and Moon. The idea that he is in Moon's Shadow is an odd if literal one.
Another Double move. I'll join the fight soonish I hope ;)
DM-Salsa |
Whoops, forgot about Betz's roll.
Betzolte and Maidie see no traps impeding their progress towards Asar and his replenishing ranks.
Betzolte Ironhame |
"We gotta take Asar down quickly, or he's gonna keep bringing up more help!" Betzolte exclaims. She hustles towards where she sees Moon, hoping together they can stop Asar and silently praying to every god and his mother that the other skeletons don't pick her off before Casina and Maidie pin them down...
Double move to current position, and I think that's my turn, unless I've still got a move action and the Perception check didn't consume that...
DM-Salsa |
I'll say you can take another move. It's not like you were sifting through everything.
Maidie Henrod |
Maidie is going to delay until after Casina has a chance to clear some of the new defensive linebackers. Which token is Asar again?

Meep runs deeper into the room to keep up with her friends.
Asar, realizing that he's being boxed in, points at Maidie.
"Kill them! Starting with her!" The command rings out.
HIs lieutenant isn't quick enough to get a strike in before Maidie can act, but he is quick enough to provide a flank to the skeleton behind her that comes charging in with the other two.
Note, that mechanically, only Orange and Yellow are charging. Yellow has a flank with Blue.
The skeleton that Asar just raised misses, but the other two don't, one of them even gets close to scoring a very telling hit on the young wizard.
Seeing few other options and determined to make Kassen pay for both his death and his humiliation, he starts to run, trying to thread between Betzolte and Moon.
Maidie takes 10 points of slashing damage from two attacks.

Grobradon keeps running, and then finally clears the wall and gets a view of what's going on. "Get the pressure of Maidie, they're on her from all sides!" It's obvious, but if one of his pack dies just because his new armor has slowed him down too much he may never forgive himself.
