Zenith feels a wave a comfort wash over them, allowing them to begin moving once more just in time for the bone-chilling scream to enter their ears. With no time to prepare, Zenith catches the full scream. As Zenith turns their head to the side in pain they see Anjo paralyzed. "Break free..." they shout over the screaming.

The kayal quickly grabs one of lesser healing potions, downs it, and then throws their trusted starknife at the nearest foe (red).

MAnny lashes out at the non-mummy target before him but firghtened as he is he just cant put enough force behind the swing to wrap around it. Luckily his previous step back gave him some breathing room and his soothing spell knits together a lot of his injuries

Zenith, now mobile again, is hit hard by the undead's cry. Luckily they manage to hit back at the creature not quite at much as you'd hope - the bony form seems to resist slashing and quaff a potion themselves. Then they vanish in the blink of an eye before reappearing...exactly where they were. due to your starting position right at the room's edge and the nature of the effect, I believe you weirdly stay where you are.

Zenith:
You feel a tugging sensation that you're not quite able to fight off. In the blink of an eye the room before you changes: its general shape and size is the same but everything is dark and dim. The ceiling is still adorned with a painted map but the planes depicted seem in a different alignment. The sarcophagus on the raised dais is not positioned shoved hard against the stairwell behind you. What's more, while the Umbral Vise is still sitting and glowing in its same position all of the undead - and your allies - are no longer there!

Instead the room's only occupant seems to be a dwarven man with a shaved head. His features are hard to make out as he too is shrouded in the gloom lingering around the whole room but his eyes catch yours for a moment and he says - in Common - What's going on? Is it safe to flip ba-

It was supposed to be a Fortitude save, not a Will save. See the Slow spell entry for confirmation.

Still puzzled why she keeps getting teleported, Franzine shakes it off when she notices the mummy pharaoh on the steps attacking her friends. Steeling her resolve to help them, she darts around and up the first few steps to strike the mummy. She lashes out with wide swings of her blade.

As Franzine approaches the mummy it lashes out at the champion. Her lance pierces you Though Zenith's Reaction cushions the blow by 8 but Franzine delivers back a wallop of a blow in response. Then she vanishes again, only to reappear towards the east wing.

Franzine:
As the shadow from the Vise envelops you you are back in that dim and shadowy version fo the room. That same dwarven man is there, though is now standing close to the Umbral Vise itself. Noticing you as you arrive, he yells: What's going on on the Mat- but you then reemerge - elsewhere unfortunately - into the room where the fight still rages

From around the corner of the east wing the second skeletal figure flies back into the center of the room. Noticing the mummy gesturing with her injured hand towards Franzine, it continues to fly across the room to lash out at the shielded warrior. Its talon clangs off or her harmlessly, but it stays where it is even as the Vises' shadows cover it for a moment.

"A dwarf?" Manny looks on the bright side. "Great, we'll try to rescue them."

But the stairs are blocked. Manny notices the pharaoh isn't keeping her eyes on him, so he tries to trip the Red-winged thing again.

He then turns to the pharaoh. "Alright, time to get you to back off. We need some space, here!" Manny carefully cups his hands and shouts the phrase of power. "Ka-me-ha-me... uh... no wait, wrong spell. Shinkuu HADOKEN!"

A >Kinetic Ram< of force bursts from his cupped hand, trying to knock the pharaoh back.

Manny tries to control the increasingly crowded head of the stairs a bit more. Unfortunately his whip fails to trip the nearest undead and the mummy holds her ground she has also used her Reaction against Franzine; so no more AoOs from her until her next turn (in case the rest of you are worried about provoking).

Then the bard finds himself vanishing, only to reappear with some space for himself at least.

Zenith was worried about provoking, good to know!

Seeing the Mummy lash out at Franzine's movement, the now-freed duskwalker bolts to action. Zenith attempts to tumble through the mummy. Sliding across the floor, they take their starknife and confidently attempt to slice through the mummified flesh.

Manny: what specifically are you trying to do with the Umbral Vise. It currently seems to be venting weird energy (which seems to be causing the 'flickering' effect many of you have experienced): are you trying to turn it off to stop that? Are you trying to use it to transport to a different Plane?

Anjo goes way the heck back but the added range doesn't seem to hurt his aim: two quick arrows into the mummy at the lip of the stairs pinion her.

An action which is quickly followed up by Zenith who - after needing to tumble around twice to get their confidence up - delivers a precision strike before flickering away. Crit! the mummy is still standing, but looking very bedraggled. And is currently lacking an obvious target as all the party has, intentionally or not, scattered.

Anjo miracuously avoids the sandstorm breath! Unfortunately Itka isn't as lucky, and the archer sees the half-orc fall bleeding!

Down in the large chamber away from this Franzine delivers two strong bashes against the undead before her! and one miss. The starting-to-look-farily-cracked creature slashes back: it only strikes once but its a hard strike!

Zenith finds themself teleported across the room, unable to protect their teammates. Save them...or take out biggest threat.... Zenith takes a split second to decide and begin running south. Anjo lets out a triumphant scream as he sees Zenith starknife plow into the bedraggled mummy.

"God's let that be it for her." Not waiting to see, Anjo fires off a soothing mist at itka, hoping the creature wasn't going to exploit Anjo's distraction.

Zenith digs deep in both aim and prayer as they hurl their starknife at the tattered mummy. Their aim is true! The starknife digs deep into the mummy's torso and slashes through its linen wrappings. As the starknife flies back to the kayal's hand dark poweder spills out rapidly from the hole in the cloth. The mummy turns to looks towards Zenith with its empty sockets. It mutters rehent... before collapsing down, dust spilling out from the remainign pile of old bandages and jewelery. Mummy down! (Zentih can Stride where you would with that 3rd action).

And seeing that Anjo releases a magical mist around Itka that soothes the half-orc's wounds and wakes her. Is the tide turning???

The eclipse flies directly back to Zenith's hand and the kayal continues to run south into a flanking position with Franzine. Zenith tries to slide underneath the creature and roll back into the flanking position. "Two more to go" they say with bated breath.

No more mummy = no more frightened condition, right?

Jerking awake with a gasping "Hmp," Itka glances around to take stock of what she missed. Hmp. Dead mummy. Good. Ganging up on that one. Good. Where are Moonlight and Anjo? Hearing sounds of a scuffle around the corner to her right, she crawls forward to sling a spell around the corner. Greasy tendrils grab a large gemstone from the mummy's collapsed form and slam it into the red undead closest to her.
