I'm at 7 so could do either tier. I don't know how tough this one is, but Ranalus is not terribly optimized.
So if we're playing high tier he'll get some consumables to boost his survivability.

I'm only at 5...but have no problem playing up if our APL allows it...

Hi everyone, my name is Ace. This will be my first play by post game. All I have is a 7 and 8 level characters. I have a hunter that acts like a cavalier, a ranged bard, and a mesmerist. Please let me know which you feel will best fill the party.

So our level 7 players will get out of tier gold regardless of upper or lower tier and Deadîn is level 5 and I can bring something either lower or upper tier but I'm cool with sticking to my level 5 guy to keep us on the lower tier side. We still have 2 more players that haven't popped in yet so we don't know what levels they are bringing.

I would say low tier looks best if there are one or more level 5 PCs.

@ItsJustAce: If I had to pick one I would say the bard. Bards are great party support, very versatile, have great skills and Knowledge, and give a different bonus than the skald gives. Bards also have Countersong and you may know how much PFS loves their harpies.

Oh snap! Everyone, I have made a pretty big faux pas here. I recently leveled up my inquisitor and I thought I hit level 5 with that character but it was really just level 4. But I do have a level 5 bard/investigator ready to go and commit through to the end if that would be okay to swap him in place of the inquisitor. He's got lots of languages and very well topped out on knowledge skills in addition to the standard bard's inspire courage singing. He also serves as an okay second string healer (he has also been the primary healer on more than one occasion!).

If you use Hero lab let me know, it makes it easier.

If not, you can just follow what everyone else does. As long as it contains all the info that a character sheet requires it should be okay.

As for the headers, just make sure it as you hp/ac/cmd/perception and initiative. Everything else is bonus.

OK, with the party of two 5's, one 6, two 7's and an 8. Brings us to 38 divided by 6 is 6.3. So we are playing low tier no adjustment.

yep, APL is 6.3. I'd play a lower level character if I had one.

According to the Society Guild guide for season 4 and up, a party of five to seven characters whose APL falls between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four character adjustment.

If our APL was 7, we'd play up due to our number of people. We are playing down with this configuration.

How so? If there is something confusing, just ask. No one will judge you for having a question and we'll have more fun on this scenario by helping each other along when needed.

I'm a 4 star GM, have played PFS for four years and RPGs in general way longer than that but I only played my first play by post a few months ago and GMd my first play by post less than a month ago. So not being new to the game but new to the format is still fresh for me, I'd be glad to assist you with the acclimating to the play by post gig.

I'm the opposite of Scuttlebutt, just hit 4 stars, but really done almost all of it in PBP. So feel free to ask away about how it works. We all have been through the "how do we do this" stage.

I'm just having a hard time seeing how my character info shows up. I've never done pbp before so getting all of the statistics to appear isn't working out. I was told just to edit my character sheet on paizo, but I haven't kept up with those for years.

I tried to create a new alias but all that appeared was the name and avatar I selected? I don't know how to edit that alias the way i edit my normal profile.

Try editing the post you just made. See the "post as" drop-down box? You can edit that to be one of your other aliases. It looks like the alias info should show up on the stat line if you "post as" Malakite Blackrose.
Also, you can edit the Profile tab of that alias to include a full character sheet. In the "About Malakite Blackrose" box. I find that useful.
And if it's been too long and you can't edit, just try another post.

A doll store? And the likely possibility we might fight some evil doll constructs next? Oh man, I should have played this with my sorcerer that has a soul-bound doll familiar from a chronicle boon. Doll fighting would have been a thing...

I have not forgotten on ditched you all. We had a personal electronics ban at work, which is where I do most of my posting. So i have been gaming from remote desktop through a work computer. Which makes it really hard to run games since I do not have the PDF readily available. I will finish out these games and may have to take a hiatus from GMing. I will try to post in the evenings, and will update this game tonight. We are almost through this, so hang in there. Thanks for your patience.
