Spells
Divine Front:
Through your deity's blessing, you gain additional spells that channel either the life force called positive energy or its counterforce, negative energy. When you prepare your spells each day, you can prepare additional heal or harm spells, depending on your deity. The divine font spell your deity provides is listed in the Divine Font entry for your deity; if both are listed, you can choose between heal or harm. Once you choose, you can't change your choice short of an ethical shift or divine intervention.
Harmful Font: You gain additional spell slots each day at your highest level of cleric spell slots. You can prepare only harm spells in these slots, and the number of slots is equal to 1 plus your Charisma modifier.
1st: 2 + Soothe
Cantrips (DC15):4
Domain Initiate
Your deity bestows a special spell related to their powers. Select one domain—a subject of particular interest to you within your religion—from your deity's list. You gain an initial domain spell for that domain, a spell unique to the domain and not available to other clerics. Each domain's theme and domain spells can be found here.
Domain spells are a type of focus spell. It costs 1 Focus Point to cast a focus spell, and you start with a focus pool of 1 Focus Point. You refill your focus pool during your daily preparations, and you can regain 1 Focus Point by spending 10 minutes using the Refocus activity to pray to your deity or do service toward their causes.
Focus spells are automatically heightened to half your level rounded up. Focus spells don't require spell slots, nor can you cast them using spell slots. Certain feats can give you more focus spells and increase the size of your focus pool, though your focus pool can never hold more than 3 Focus Points. The full rules for focus spells appear here.

Elisabela had always had an fascination with tragedy. Not that her family had much of that in her; her parents were supported in every way one can. It just happened that those around her have been struck with misfortune. Kids she had known from school either died tragically or have had beloved friends and loved ones meet a similar fate. None of which was her fault, but her proximity was not lost on her. She even sought to solve certain mysteries associated with them, one of which did succeed in discovering the killer.
Once she came on her own, she sought like-minded company. She found that in the church of Naderi, a house fascinated with romances gone awry. Wanting more, she set herself up as a detective, seeking cases to crack as well as delve into the mystery. Eventually, the later work became her primary one and it even earned her a spot in Edgewatch.
Her eccentric nature and deadpan may put off some of her co-workers and her fascination of death and romance may raise some eyebrows. But beneath that dour personality is someone genuinely eager to solve cases.

I am also bouncing around ideas, but looks like we might need a little combat melee power, so thinking along those lines. Maybe Champion, maybe monk.
Still, I will pivot to a need after others have gone, if melee gets taken already. Unless you need me to choose so you know who else to pick. Suffice to say, I am flexible.

I'm fairly indecisive...I normally try to go off art, but I haven't found a paizo portrait I like yet to build a character from, hehe. So it'll probably be easier for me once more people have picked their characters.
The cool thing that since it's Absalom, you can go wild on backgrounds since virtually any kind of being will live there.

I think I just settled on making a Ruffian Rogue, actually.
Been looking for a class that could justify being a spear user, and I think I finally found it, heh.
I'm still trying to decide what her off stats will be though. I'll probably make them 18-12-14-10-10-14 to start though, maybe, since I get Intimidation auto trained.

End of next week would be good. First week of the term just ended and week two looks easy. I watching what we get here and I'll keep recruitment in the know.
I'll also let you guys now I'll have specific stuff up for you all. One of them is just rules how I DM the game such as no player v player rolling unless in very specific cases. As well, unless you specify you are doing harm, I will treat damage as nonletehal with penalty to hit or damage. It works a lot easier this way.

I see that. Think the Watch should just throw them all in the clink....
My current thought is Lucien, a halfling champion of Iomedae. He was squire to a knight errant who fell in the battle with the Whispering Tyrant. Lucien has taken up the mantle and trying to achieve enough deeds to become knighted himself. He is a full on paladin, and brooks no deception, corner-cutting, or grey area. He defends the downtrodden, and metes out justice as the Inheritor would, without mercy to evil-doers and the non-repentant. But he's just a little guy and sometimes gets in over his head.
Since I don't know much about the missions etc., not sure if his inviolate alignment, which is intended as RP, will be a problem in the actual game.
Thoughts?
If ok, I would use the Squire background instead of one from Edgewatch, but that's flexible.

Reading the Player's Guide, it appears to strongly recommend Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral or Neutral Good alignment, so I think a Iomedae Champion would probably have little issue sticking to such things.
I assume we're probably not going to be trying to break the law to uphold, it, for the most part...

Ok, here's the rogue. I just grabbed one of the appropriate sounding noble families from the PF wiki about Absalom. Let me know if a more appropriate family might make sense.

She spent her precious free time in the company of a Tien martial instructor whom her parents had retained in her youth to indulge what they thought a passing fascination. The foreign warrior schooled her in the basics of certain fighting forms, but things eventually came to a head when she reached marrying age and her family cut off funding for what they deemed a barely appropriate hobby for a grown noblewoman. Angered, she patiently schemed a transfer in her position of bureaucracy to a more physically active role. The fruits of her labours have led to a nasty breach in her relations with her family, even as Marianne personally felt more liberated in what seemed like good, honest work...even if her new colleagues didn't particularly feel like she belonged amongst them.
Lucien Lightfoot |
Here is Lucien Lightfoot, halfling champion of Iomedae for your review and comment. His stat block is in the profile. I have shared his backstory a bit. But more is included here.
Description: He wears a human youth's training armor and weapon, but it fits him well enough. His hair is brown, his eyes also brown, but full of a fire to do Good. He is 3' tall, but carries himself larger and is not afraid to mix it up against full size people or creatures.
Quirk: His faith and obligation to doing good deeds, and not compromising his beliefs are his prime character trait. He does speak, act, and think of himself as a knight in training, and seeks to build enough honor and good deeds to become knighted himself.

We have champion, rogue, and cleric. Might need an arcane caster to round out the group, and another fighter type wouldn't hurt. Just my opinion.
Really, I'd rather find someone who will stick around a while rather than a serial recruit.
