Does a red android mean anything to us?
"Oooohhhh of course the 'ganic blames an android!" The annoyed voice of DR34-M12 came over the comm line. "And how does this so called Arquand know it's poison huh? It's probably just drugs. Oh hey it's probably drugs! Deeco, cast 'find drugs'!"
Seo-Yeon |
Culture: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Seo-Yeon stays in the background, checking the intruder out and quietly observing him, ready to strike at any time.
His words make her think though...
It seems we did not pick the easier job. I still don't understand how you came on board. You could have approached us at the port, you know. Did the android only poison one barrel, several or all of them?
And how did you contract lycanthropy? Do you know anything about that other wererat?
Anyway, let's check those barrels out. We have some time until we arrive.
What can we do to check the barrels? Medicine checks? Engineering or perception to see they have been tempered with?
DR34-M12 |
You know a red android as a member of the Order of the Emerald Claw. He could be the same one, as he called himself "Bloody Claw."
DR34-M12 continued to berate assumptions about androids before reviewing her logs. "...Wait did he say a red android? You don't think that was the "Bloody Claw" do you? That'd certainly make things more interesting huh!?"
Okay the Emerald Claw is a terrorist group of necromancers, so not great news
Himo Naïlo |
In the name of the Ancestors! The Emerald Claw! Himo takes off his mask, hangs it back on his forearm and begins to inspect the barrels.
Medicine: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
This is the third consecutive natural 1 in three different games I have in the last couple of hours. Bot God curses me for not spending enough time on PbP the last couple of weeks? )

You can take 10 to find the poison.
DR34-M12 |
Okay well that could kill a lot of things but given the lore association with lycanthropes that feels targeted.
Declan |
With the poison found by Himo, DeeCo relaxes slightly, but is still keeping an eye on their "additon". A couple of questions that they would have had were answered, but not all. "Poison found it seems. We want to dig int'this?" While being framed for something was a possibility— nothing especially new– it was a question of who this was aimed at.
DR34-M12 |
"Yeah let's dig into this! I want to know what the claw is up to. Plus we can probably sell our serveries to the port authority!"
Seo-Yeon |
Seo-Yeon looks confused.
Why would a bunch of necromancers poison some were-rats?
Then, insight lights on her face.
Ahhhh! I know! They must be different competing gangs... or cults... and probably they have a gang war, or a cult war, or there interests are clashing in some other way.
She looks around to the stowaway rat.
You there, simprat, what do you know about it! This can go two ways: Either you tell us everything right now by yourself, or... well let's say the journey could get uncomfortable for you and all those who have a weak stomach. Or you know what, hold still!
Seo-Yeon focuses and her eyes begin to glow slightly in an eerie violet as she mumbles some words.

Wererat resists: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
The thoughts come into your mind. You learn that the wererat has a shifter brother on the moon you're headed to. As big as Ganymede, the colony is a colony of shifters and weres, trying to escape persecution by the Church of the Silver Flame.
Himo Naïlo |
Himo stands with his hands on his hips. Having an Emerald Claw among my enemies is not so bad, because I don't need such friends. He looks at the wererat. Do you know that you owe us a fare? When Seo-Yeon begins to read interloper's mind, Himo only smiles at the resourcefulness of another elf. And waits for the results.

"Yeah, Seo's got the right idea."
Do you know that you owe us a fare?
"Good looking out Himo! And he owes us for saving his brother! And and the colony owes us for their Emerald Claw problem we're totally going to solve!"
Assuming we have access to the infonet, DR34-M12 will take a 20 to research the Emerald Claw and any seemingly relevant information about the colony we are going to. Trying to find some motive for the poison attack.

They are a terrorist organization that is supposedly fighting for Karrnath. To be blunt, your "roll" has led you deeper into the organization. They are connected to the blood of Vol, and it is said their true leader is the undead Lady Vol.

Numerous holo-displays fed steams of data as DR34-M12's attention turned to research while the other's searched for poison. "Whoa, I thought the Emerald Claw were just two-bit "Free Karrnath" terrorists but they're hooked up with the Blood of Vol? Himo, doesn't your court have like a quest of vengeance against them or something?" The android's circuits were a bright rainbow of colors as her excitement continued to grow.
"A fare? How much?" Arquand asks.
"50 credits a day. 50 more if you want bathroom privileges and 50 more more if you want food and water." DR34-M12 coldly replied.
DR34-M12 |
"Great!" DR34-M12 exclaimed as the credits cleared. "See, all of this would have been a lot easier if you'd just come to us with a quest and credits." The android said, her demeanor instantly shifting now that the hitcher was a client.
"When we land we need to keep an eye on that crate. The claw might have people on it. Do you think we should alert the port authority or should we assume they have traitors?" It was clear DR34-M12 was hoping there would be traitors and was maybe getting a bit worked up about things.
Declan |
It was more a shift from the wary tenseness of impending violence to the exasperated eyeroll and the tossing up of their hands at the change in demeanor of their crewmate that could be taken as DeeCo's indication of acceptance. The flat look they leveled at their (now)fare was long-suffering. "You can't complain now, you paid for this", they admonished, putting their weapon away as Bzzt! was set on a nearby crate, their screen pointed at the wererat, curious about the new individual.
"Shiny, I do believe our degree of investiture depends on how much they're willin' t'pay us when we inform them. Y'think th'Claw's opposition 'd pay for info?" Their arms were folded as they moved to leaned on one of the nearby supplies that had not been opened. Their cargo bay could stand to be more full, but that also came with visibility.

DR34-M12 starts the standard landing request and flight path planning while Seo is below deck. "We're on approach for the colony. If anyone needs to use the bathroom, now's the time."

Himo, doesn't your court have like a quest of vengeance against them or something?"
.
Oh yeah. This is an abomination according to our concepts. And they themselves, and what they want to create. It's a pity that this carrion, this mold, this infection has existed for centuries... I think we will really contact the authorities and warn them.DR34-M12 |
I think we will really contact the authorities and warn them.
"But...traitors?" DR34-M12 halfheartedly replied, unable to come up with a better reply and having previously had poor luck with 'I don't want to'. Still, the android began compiling a report on their findings.
DR34-M12 pouts a bit but otherwise will open a line to the port authority and transmit what we've found/learned. I'd recommend someone else actually respond on the comm line because I can't promise no shenanigans from Dreamer.
Declan |
DeeCo looked amused at the request to hide as they left the cargo bay to resume their position at the Engineering station. "Suit yourself, but watch y'hands." They had a lot of "possible" things going on with this stowaway and their destination, but at least there was payment. They could work out the rest later.
"Pax" - Aloysius Paxton |
"I still don't think we should demand payment from people who are already having a hard time," grumbles Pax, but he has stated this opinion before and it has always been overruled. That's just the way things work out here, the others always told him. Maybe it was, but that didn't mean he had to like it.

"Aww, it's so cute that you care Pax." DR34-M12's tone was sincere, even if her words were patronizing. "Look once we save the colony from a terrorist attack and get a giant reward, we'll make a donation to one of those nice ganic charities. Yeah?"
DR34-M12 |
"Of course. We're happy to cooperate." DR34-M12 said in her best sickly sweet voice before closing the comm channel and blowing a raspberry at the Port Authority. "Well we're getting inspected, make sure to hide anything illegal." DR34-M12 said over the comm as she initiated the landing sequence.
DR34-M12 |
Assuming we get everything set, DR34-M12 will land the ship and wait for the port authority.
"Okay, buckle up!" DR34-M12 Yelled over the comms. Her landings might not be as smooth as Seo's, but the android had a lot more fun. Though whether the rest of the crew felt that way, DR34-M12 had not bothered to ask.
Himo Naïlo |
In general, my line of thought is this: I'm going to tell the authorities everything as it is. We have a witness and there is a really poisoned cargo - but we didn't poison it. Maybe it's a little boring, but my character really sees no reason to somehow get out of this situation. No objections, team? ...And I will emphasize that Himo will make sure that the wererat does not run away from us if a witness is really needed.
Himo bounces slightly in his seat when landing hard, but does not comment on it in any way. It seems that his thoughts are occupied only by the Emerald Claw - an organization that he and others like him hate with all their soul.
Declan |
Compensating for their eccentricities of their pilot was often something that DeeCo found interesting as they eyed the graph of the readouts. A little compensation here, a bit of a tweak there, and the landing did not break anything. A success as far as it counted. Depending on the diligence of the dock authorities, they were going to do their best to make themselves scarce until the inquiry concluded.
"Right. Feet down, Routines runnin'. I'm going t'dodge the queries, if it's all th'same." Unbucking from their seat at the Engineering station, they slipped out, waiting to drop from a strut access once the authorities were occupied in their task.
EltonJ |
You see the ship being taxied into a hangar. With the Port Authority waiting for you. They appear to be in space suits. When the ship was fully taxied into a hanger, the energy shields are activated and air is pumped into the hanger. You see the Port Authority take off their helmets. They all look officious.
DR34-M12 |
As the docking sequence completed, DR34-M12 threw her feet up on console. Putting on her earphones, the sound of goblincore filled her audio receptors as she pulled up numerous feeds of the ships cameras. "Suits onboard, optical feeds open." The android said to the rest of the crew over a closed comm channel.
Himo Naïlo |
Greetings to you. Himo makes a casual gesture, as if giving a military greeting, but only very lazy. We have a cargo here, part of which is poisoned by the Emerald Claw terrorists. We learned about this from a caring guy whose relatives live here. Come on, we'll show you and tell you everything.
DR34-M12 |
DR34-M12 manipulated her feeds to get a face scan of each of the port authority members.
Could I try to run a background check on them or anything? Checking if any of them don't have Port Authority IDs or if they recently transferred or anything
