Alright, that looks good. Let's also talk Starship boons.

Charli has a few to offer, but her best is Defender of the Fleet. Does anyone else have this one? With three of them, we can really soup up our starship.

Defender of the Fleet (Starship Boon): During the return to the Scoured Stars, you partook in at least one starship combat mission to assist the evacuation of the stranded Starfinders. As a result, your name has spread throughout the engineers and dockmasters of the Starfinder fleet.

Whenever you slot this boon, you can pick one of the following options:
Finest Computers: You can improve the computers onboard your starship by one step: from a mononode to a duonode, or from a duonode to a trinode. Alternatively, you can upgrade the computer's bonus by 1 while this boon is slotted (to a maximum of +8).

Finest Engines: You can increase the speed of your thrusters by one step. For example, T6 thrusters become T8 thrusters. You cannot use this boon to upgrade beyond the fastest thrusters commonly available for your size of starship (so you cannot upgrade past T14, S12, M12, L10, H10, G8 or C8 thrusters.)

Finest Weapons: Each of the weapons on your starship is the best available in the Starfinder fleet. When you roll damage, you can reroll any damage dice with a result of 1 on the die; you must keep the second result.

Having two gunners is useful, but we're at the level where you can easily spend a resolve point to fire everything in a single arc. So both Rani and Charli are capable of flexing to other jobs where needed.

Ah, thanks. Here it is:

Drift Maven (Starship Boon): Your experience with Drift travel grants you an edge when operating a starship on that plane. While in the Drift, you gain the following benefit based on your starship role.

Captain: After starships are placed on the map at the start of a starship combat, you can immediately move your starship 1d4+1 hexes and choose your facing before the encounter begins.

Engineer: When you use the divert action to send power to the starship's engines, you increase the speed by 1d2+2 that round.

Gunner: Increase the range of weapons you fire by 2 hexes.
Pilot: You gain a +2 bonus to Piloting checks to perform the back off, barrel roll, flip and burn, flyby, and slide stunts.

Science Officer: In any round in which you use the target systems action, any gunnery check that scores a critical hit deals additional damage equal to twice the number of ranks you have in the Computers skill.

That seems useful for the roles you'll be flexing between. I like it.

Here's the text of those boons:

Automated Defenses (Starship Boon): You defeated one of the orbital defense platforms orbiting the planet Elytrio. The platform contained several unique, albeit technologically outdated, innovations in starship design. The most promising adaptation of the technology is its ability to deter oncoming missiles using miniature automated drones. When you slot this starship boon, once per starship combat, a science officer can reduce the speed of a single tracking weapon fired at your starship by 50% for 1 round. Declare the use of this ability when the enemy weapon is fired but before its gunnery check is attempted. A science officer can spend a Resolve Point to activate this boon again in any subsequent round or encounter. A starship can only be improved by a single copy of this boon.

Hero of the Stars (Starship Boon; Limited Use): You defeated the dreaded Besmaran pirate ship, Lawblight, showcasing your determination during an intense starship combat. This boon activates anytime your starship is reduced to 0 or fewer Hull Points. Your starship immediately regains a number of Hull Points equal to its tier × 5. A starship can never regain more than 30 Hull Points in this manner. A starship can never have more than one of these boons attached to it. When this boon activates, cross it off your Chronicle sheet.

With three 9s, one 11 and two 12s we're in Tier 9-10 still.

So we have the Tier 10 Drake.

Let's see what Defender of the Fleet does to the Drake, and then take a look at the other boons we have on the table.

With 3 Defender of the Fleet boons:
1) The speed of the Drake goes from 8 to 10
2) Since the Drake already has a trinode, the Drake gets a +1 to Computers checks
3) All 1s on gun damage dice get rerolled - very nice indeed.

If we're willing to sacrifice the +1 in Computers, I would be interested to see what kind of stunts Maverick pulls with Drift Maven and that +2 to stunts.

Between Automated Defenses and Hero of the Stars, I don't have an opinion. Hero of the Stars is the safe choice.

The only other interesting boon I have is a gun upgrade.

Heavy Solar Cannon Upgrade - Replaces one heavy weapon with a modified Heavy Solar Cannon - 3d8 damage with the Sustained 4 property.

I think all our heavy weapons now do more than that, unfortunately. We're now better off with Defender of the Fleet, I think.

Since we are lower tier, I'm pretty sure Maverick can pull of all the stunts with or without the Drift Maven bonus. His Piloting modifier is +28 and he can roll twice anytime he attempts a Flyby.

GM, spending a resolve to make Rani conscious also gives her 1 HP. Not a lot, I know, but every bit helps.

Also, I couldn't do it this turn, but could someone with a good AC trigger attacks of opportunity from these jerks so that we can help Rani get out of the flank blender? Alternatively, you could just kill one of the enemies, but I want her to be able to get out.

I've already acted this turn, but Charli has Don't Quit. I can exchange my Standard Action for Maverick's whole turn to get him back in the fight next round.

Also, I have a campaign coin with 5 novas sitting on it. If Maverick has to reroll, he can take my campaign coin reroll and add +5 to the better of the two rolls.

I've often felt that tactics tilts more battles than DPS. Don't get me wrong, you need both. Being able to control the battlefield, using teamwork and keeping your team functional are as important as straight-up firepower.

Thanks Charli, I just remembered Mav also has a Kaleidoscopic Icosahedron Aeon Stone, so he can re-roll his last failed save attempt again if your campaign coin re-roll is a use it and lose it type of deal.

Oh yeah. Sadly playing in this format it's possible to miss things. Posting at work some and when a call comes in mid post you can lose some focus. :)

@GM At my level, my drone has RP of its own that it can use for specific actions :)

Upgraded Power Core (Ex) - 10th Level:

Your drone gains a pool of Resolve Points equal to 1 per 2 levels it has (minimum 1). Your drone can spend 1 Resolve Point to make a full attack without requiring your direct control and at only the normal –4 penalty for a full attack instead of the –6 penalty. Your drone regains Resolve Points after a full 8-hour rest as normal.
