Hi mates,
Posting it on all my games - unfortunately I will have to take a hiatus due to some complications at work. I'll be extra busy for the next 6 to 8 weeks, and instead of limiting myself to a single post or two per week, I will instead just fully take a break from the forums and some other activities.
My profound apologies to GMs and my fellow players, as well as the players from the games I host. This came today a little out of nowhere (talk about mondays) as a push for the last quarter of the year. Please, feel free to bot my characters, replace if I can be waited, whatever you see fit. I hope we get the chance to play again in the future no matter what!
Always wishing you have the most fun,
Lapyd

Was there any player-candidate in the game that you felt would be a good match as a player and that you think would be flexible about their build? I’m wondering if you can offer a spot to a good enthusiast player but say that we need a character with bard skills. And then see if they want to play and are willing to build a bard/x as their character. It’s not an ideal approach, but there have been some games that I would have jumped at if the DM gave me that option.

[schultz]I know nuthink. Nuthink![/schultz]

Sorry I didn't see the PM! Hi all. I'm very happy to jump in here.
I am also a big Hogan's Heroes fan. That was a significant chunk of my childhood.
Bard: I've been considering slapping VMC bard on this character.
Edit: I've caught up on discussion and am now reading gameplay. As fun as the table is, I'm not going to risk Crusading Magic, which I traded my racial SLA for. +2 K planes and +2 to overcoming spell resistance? Yeah... I think that will matter for an arcane trickster/blaster...
It does look like the party is very melee heavy, which is great for me since that will give me ranged sneak attacks with my spells. Also, I'm not interested in being in melee. And I think some flagbearer (have to figure out a way around the cha pre-req) and bardic buffing will really boost the party's damage output so I'll scheme where to fit that on my build.
GM: In PFS, the wizard's scribe scroll feat can be replaced with spell focus. Are you ok with me doing that for Severa?

Severa Zadyra |

Oh yes I saw that you were adding two (including me)! I just didn't know the other one was a bard. Excellent!
Hi Elliaria!
GM: Do you want us newbies to wait for a cue before entering gameplay?

Shadow_Fox |

Severa and Elliaria- if you can read through the Game thread, you will see that the party is at a meeting before Prelate Hulrun. We can retcon in our minds that Lapyd's character was not there and instead you and Elliaria were, so you can go ahead and post in the thread your description and reaction to the rest of the party and then your response to Hulrun's offer and we can go from there.

Shadow_Fox |

Elliaria, you may want to include a physical description in the Game thread. I know you have a picture in the profile, but I would like to see a written description also. Is she 7' tall or 4'1"? Does she have green or blue eyes? What is her aasimar feature that makes her stand out?
Please also format your character with the vital stats in the Race/Class tabs to make my life easier. Thanks.

Severa Zadyra |

With GM permission, I've respecced Severa to wizard/alchemist, btw, so that I can provide some nice buffs to the melee guys through infusion. Shield and long arm are the big ones. That'll start coming online at level 2.

Trok! |

At level 4 I'll start wild shaping and pouncing. In case that matters for your buffing plans.

Definitely looking forward to a Shield spell once in awhile, since character is wielding a 2-handed weapon. :)

Severa Zadyra |

Awesome. This is going to be really fun.
GM: Do you use the Pathfinder Society Rule that wizards can pick the spell focus feat instead of scribe scroll?

Severa Zadyra |

So if we know when the trouble is coming well enough to pop the minute per level buffs correctly, we could get Ayaal's AC to 17+4 armor+4 shield+2 deflection = 27. Not bad for level 1! XD

Severa Zadyra |

GM, could you put the link to the combat map in the Short Description field of the Campaign Info tab? That would make it really easy for us to find over and over.

Trok! |

Hey! I call foul! You're supposed to PET the cat, not try to kill it! <grin>
Having raged would just leave me at staggered, so, not a much better position really . . ..

Trok! |

No, I never declared rage. Trok's down clean and honest. I was just noting that even if he had raged, he really wouldn't be significantly better off.

Shadow_Fox |

Ok, people, you're frustrating me. :) You remember when during the recruitment period, you each posted images of your character's appearance and these images are in your character profiles??? Well, those images (cropped of course) are what I am using for your icons. Except of course for Trok - I just like his cat token better. So those with memory issues, please look at the images in your profiles to recognize yourself on the map. Sheesh!
Elliaria, I may mess around with the tokens, but on the weekend (not this weekend) or such, as work keeps me busy. Also, just a personal point for your character: Your battle dance is a move action and you are clearly 15' away from the spider-girl, so how can you post that you attack her? You can move 5', battle dance, and attack the yellow mongrel. That's how I will apply your attack.

Severa Zadyra |

Yes! Thank you!

Severa Zadyra |

I just need to see what I'm throwing at. There could be hostage kittens in there!

Trok! |

Meh. Not upset at being left on the floor.
Depending on how far the team runs into the enemy territory while I lie there might change my feelings on the matter . . ..
<grin>

Trok! |

I didn't declare a move action. I have been chewing on my lip trying to decide if I should risk another tumbling attempt or not.
In case I blow it, the team will be better served if I do it next round, before anyone else move, so at the worst I can consume the AoOs . . ..
I figure I move E 1, N 1, THEN tumble NE2 for my full 40' of movement. Ends adjacent to Green. NW instead would put me adjacent to Yellow, of course.

Severa Zadyra |

Just FYI, I have a new baby arriving any day now. I probably won't drop 100% off the map but I will be a lot less frequent, maybe without notice, for a couple weeks.

Ayaal |

Heads up, guys. I will be moving across the country, from Sunday 2-Oct through approximately 6-Oct. I should have internet each night to catch up with the game and post as needed. But that’s a variable I can’t control. On or slightly after the 6th, I will be back to my usual posting rate.
Thanks!

As long as we're going "Oh, BTW . . .."
My wife is going in for surgery on Friday. Surgeon says that depending on what he finds inside her thigh bone DURING the surgery, he might have to do different things . . ..
The "good" path is remove her improperly installed artificial knee and install a new one. This includes quite a bit of rehab to get used to the new knee and learn to walk properly again.
The first alternate path is to remove the current knee, install a spacer and immobilize her leg completely for an indeterminate period of time while she has an anti-biotic drip going into her thighbone. THEN have another surgery to put a new artificial knee in place, and start rehab to not just learn how to walk again but also to rebuild the muscles in her leg . . ..
Another alternate path is to identify the nodule he wants to check out as cancerous. Nobody's told me what that path will entail. Heck, nobody has said this optional leg exists, but when he doesn't know what the nodule is and it hasn't behaved the way he expected it to if it were a simple infection . . .. Maybe I'm just being a worry wart.
Once she's home, I should have plenty of time to keep posting, though I have no idea what my schedule will look like! I'll be caring for her and watching the grandchildren while their Mom works.
Were we 30 years younger, I would think having a child a much better use of the time. Not being 30 years younger, I don't want to have to chase a teenager in another decade and a half or so!
As for moving . . .. I hope to be done with that. 8 more years to full, permanent retirement. We plan to do quite a bit of traveling, but no more moves!
