    "Hm...you make interesting points" Denskaro says, thoughtfully. "Wander-Fourth, we could use help with equipment and supplies, and they present a pretty good case that they can help with that" (20 is exactly what you needed, Hellih). "And it's always good to have allies."

    "I don't trust them. After all, how do we know it's not their fault we're here in the first place? It's just coincidence that our drift drive fails when we happen to be right next to Starfinders?"

    Denskaro seems convinced, but you haven't quite won over Wander-Fourth yet.

    Ratatat then describes how control of the ship was lost from a pilot's perspective and the emergency maneuvers required to bring the ship down to a crash landing.

    "Besides, we're experienced in these kinds of situations as well! Let me tell you about the time I was stranded on the moon of Vesk-8 and had to look extensively for a portal to make our way back to an inhabited place again."

    Kiss begins to tell an extensively long story about other missions in which they were stranded and got through it with the power of teamwork... and a bit of luck.

    Since I don't have so many options and Diplomacy with sidereal influence is by far my best skill I'm going to use my Sensate theme ability "Charming Curiosity" and just roll twice and take the better with a Diplomacy against the higher DC.

    "I'm afraid our drive, and the rest of our ship, is beyond repair, but thank you Hellih" Denskaro says. He pauses a moment to think, then looks at his companions, his gaze lingers for a moment as it meets Wander-Fourth's eyes, as if an unspoken conversation flows between them. The android sighs and says "Fine. I suppose we do need the help."

    With that, Denskaro turns back to you. "Very well, Starfinders, we accept your proposal and thank you for your offer of help." He pulls out a comm unit and syncs it with your, sending you their comm frequency and requesting yours, as well as the coordinates of your camp, in return. [b]"We will stay in contact with you; please do the same, and don't hesitate to call us if there's anything we can help you with as well."

    After saying your goodbyes and stepping out of the cavern t begin your journey home, Djeyd comes jogging up to you, holding a small satchel. "I know Wander-Fourth came off as a little unfriendly, but that's just their way. They really do appreciate your offer of help, and they asked me to give these to you, as a gesture of thanks. Have a safe trip back!" With that, she waves and jogs back in to the cavern. Inside the satchel is a pair of xenowarden's boots, an amber hyperboloid aeon stone, and a set of mk 1 travel treads, all bearing the symbol of Weydan.

    Success! You needed 12 total success for the highest level of success (to convince Wander-Fourth), and you got 13.

    Moving on to "Repair Work"

    Your return journey to camp is uneventful, and Bennock is excited to hear about your success in convincing the Weydanites to ally with you. In the days that follow, you return to normal duty rotations and settle back in to life at camp. Four days after your return, as you're heading to a shift on kitchen duty, Bennock intercepts you once again.

    “Hi folks. I know you’re scheduled for other duties this morning, but I asked the chef if I could borrow you for a few hours first to take care of an urgent task that popped up. I hope you don’t mind.”

    Bennock pauses while passing through the large clearing at the center of camp. He points to the top of a nearby hill where a lightweight tower bearing an antenna reaches into the sky. [b]“Notice anything off about that tower we put up a few weeks ago? The light’s gone out.” He grins slightly before continuing. “It seems the antenna has stopped functioning altogether. We put that thing up to get a better read on some strange energy fluctuations we’ve been seeing, and it worries me that it’s already broken. I’d like you to hike up there this morning and see if you can figure out what’s going on. If you can fix it, even better. If not, we can send a mechanic to help out. At the very least, try to figure out how it broke so we can prevent it from happening again.”

    The base of the hill is less than half a mile from camp. The tower itself is mostly obscured as you hike through the surrounding forest, but it suddenly comes into view the moment you rise above the tree line. It's composed of lightweight metal struts that support a small platform, from which a tall antenna extends upward topped with a red light, which is currently extinguished. As you approach, you can see the jagged ends of several cables that have been ripped from their housing near the top of the tower.

    Also visible as you approach, a group of four winged creatures that screech when you come into site, spreading their wings and launching in your direction!

    Ratatat shoots twice, connecting both times with the lead creature but not dropping it. Another one of the creatures soars forward, gaining a little altitude as it flies above a nearby rock formation (double move).

    No worries, I'll add that back in to the damage. These are weird critters, no reason you should have suspected they would have hardness.

    Cygpo, meanwhile, things about what they know about these creatures, recalling that they are vasporan broodlings. Normally ambush predators, they are known for being able to quickly molt their skin in interesting ways, including to defend themselves and to sail along the wind. You know that they can only use their defensive molt against attacks that target KAC. You can have two more questions worth of info about them if you'd like, though you've seen most of their stuff already.
