None of them have more than 1 Laser, so we should probably swap out one of the solar-powered boons, as the second is automatically wasted.

I kinda like the Azata, which would make BOTH of the solar-powered boons wasted . . ..

As a 4 man crew, we're not likely to fire more than 1 weapon a turn anyway.

I can using the Azata, especially since we didn't get any hints that we need the Pegasus Advanced sensors.

My Drift Maven boon gives me +2 on Piloting checks to Back Off, Barrel Roll, Flip and Burn, Flyby and Slide stunts, assuming I end up the Pilot (+7, 3 Ranks)

I'm leaning towards this first one.

Star Monster Slayer (Starship Boon) You defeated a spacefaring monster known as a Besmaran whelp. Since this battle, you’ve mastered the art of battling against living starship-sized enemies when operating a starship of your own.

While this boon is slotted, you gain a +2 bonus to all skill checks made in a starship combat against an enemy living starship. Any of your fellow crewmates who don’t have this boon slotted instead gain a +1 bonus to their skill checks against enemy living starships—the direct result of your guidance during the battle.

In-the-Vehicle Training (Starship Boon) Hours of traversing Vabaimus’s uneven ground has given you valuable experience when maneuvering a vehicle in dangerous conditions. While operating a vehicle (but not a starship), you increase its EAC, KAC, and hardness by 1. When a vehicle you are operating would be wrecked, you can cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet and attempt a Piloting check; the vehicle is instead reduced to 1 Hit Point and remains operable for a number of rounds equal half the result of your Piloting check unless it is reduced to 0 Hit Points first.

Science Actions happen in the Helm Phase before or after moving. Due to initial Piloting checks, Pathfinders move then the enemies. After that it moves to Gunnery which is it's own phase. Captains can take actions in any phase.

So:
1st: Engineering
2nd: Helm (Piloting and Science Officer)
3rd: Gunnery
*Captain Actions can happen in any phase.

If you want, I also have a starship combat status graphic generator that people seemed to like. It generates starship status in a way similar to the X-wing or Wing Commander games (showing shield arcs and bogey heading).

I did want to confirm that it is the Tier 6 Azata but I definitely had an old SFS Guide and the online Guide to Play is also out of date. So Azata isn't even on the list in the newest one, but it is the heartiest of the choices. It looks like the weapons are a similar on the Drake, Pegasus, and Gorgon though.

Don't worry and keep at it. This thing is definitely a tough one.

So, generic posting of warning.

My wife reports for surgery in roughly 12 hours.

Her surgeon has asked me to take 2 weeks from work to be at home to provide assistance.

That will also mean corralling the two grandchildren, keeping them entertained and fed while their Mom works, and keeping them out of Grandma's hair.

Can't say that I'm positive what my posting habits will be like until I can return to my normal schedule.
