"Let me see the poor soul," Peri says once the spiders are still and no one remains in peril of spider bites. He rests his hand upon the orc and concentrates for a moment. Shadow and light spin around his hand before flowing into the archivist.

Peri lays the orc down on the ground and heals the worst of the wounds. Unzgrin awakens, "What... what happened? Who are you?” she asks as she rubs the back of her head, and then moves her hand to look at the blood that is caked in her hair. “Oh... The last I remember is heading into a cavern system, looking for signs of ancient ruins. I found a cave... there was a loud shriek... and a spider...” She looks around to see another trio of dead spiders as her vision goes fuzzy. "Do any of you have any spare water?"

"Are you alright?" Avery asks the orc as she joins them. "Hi, I am Avery. The rain's pouring outside and found shelter in a cave when I followed your group inside here. Then you encountered the spiders. Am about to help but you managed well to eliminate them." she explains to others.

"I was exploring the caves to see if I could find any sign of the dwarves who fled here thousands of years ago after the fall of Koldukar. I know, I know, any bodies would likely be gone, but I hoped that I might find historic relics they left behind, or perhaps another ancient ruin of some kind to which they had fled." She groans as she sits up.
"I was on the cusp of an important breakthrough in understanding the history of the dwarves of Koldukar and I guess my eagerness to discover something significant turned out a bit reckless." She looks all around this chamber. "Oh no, my journal was in my backpack. I must have dropped it when I heard that shriek and fled into here. Can you find my backpack?"

Impulse-7 begins frantic movements with his hands, half-closing his eyes. The fingers seem to be playing an invisible piano. After half a minute, the robot calms down and it seems the crisis has passed.
The functioning of the system is normal.
The android, meanwhile, looks slightly exhausted.

"Sure." Avery replies to the female orc. "We'll just re-trace your steps so that we can find again you journal and backpack. Do you remember which way you come from before getting here?" Avery asks her.

Impulse-7 doesn't see the backpack at all in this chamber. "I ran in here from the east." Avery leads the way to the east and finds another chamber. As Unzgrin stated the backpack lies on the floor in this chamber. Unfortunately it lies directly below another one of the Shrieker mushrooms.
Survival check to carefully approach and cut the mushroom’s air sac without triggering the shrieker.

The android points his hand towards the bag. The lines on his skin briefly flare up brighter, and as soon as they go out, an almost invisible palm of light-blue energy appears next to the bag. The magic hand takes the bag and gently pulls it towards us.
I will try to pull out the bag with magic and do it so as not to alarm the mushroom with the help of my knowledge of Scouting Lore.

Impulse points towards the backpack and yanks it far enough away from the Shrieker mushroom that it is safe to grab.
Some moss has already started growing on it. It contains a journal filled
with sketches of various objects, a series of progressively more challenging Dwarven writing exercises, and theories about possible locations of ancient ruins. It also contains two minor healing potions and 1 week of rations.
With the bag in tow you head back to Unzgrin. "That's it, thanks!" She grabs the bag. "Should we get out of here now?"

"I have what I can for now." She reassures you as she clutches the bag closely.

"How long were you in here?" Peri wonders aloud, noting the moss growing on the recovered pack. "But, yeah, before more spiders show up, we go back to the surface."

"Yeth, I agree. Let'th go back up."

"Can't have been more than a couple of days." Unzgrin explains as you begin to make you way back towards the entrance of the cave. Just as you close upon the entrance. A pile of dust and bone meal, several inches deep and 10 feet across on each side, blocks the tunnel to the surface. "These must be the remains I was searching for." She frowns, stating, "I don't remember them being here the last time I passed this way. It seems several dwarves fled to these caves after the fall of Koldukar. After an earthquake left them stranded, the dwarves were without the tools needed to dig themselves out. They died in the arms of their loved ones, starving, thirsting, and running out of air."

Five of the skeletal hands detach from the dusty wall and begin to crawl on the ground towards several of you as they leap into the air to crush your throats.

With all enemies currently destroyed Briony screams at the wall, attempting to intimidate the weakened spirits into backing down.
The wall shudders and falls still as the ash collapses back to the floor allowing you all to exit unscathed and escort Unzgrin safely to the surface. She briefly looks over her notes. "If you could please accompany me to a nearby cave where I stashed my belongings, including a small reward for your efforts. I’m a bit disappointed in my findings, to tell you the truth. I’d hoped to find something more insightful: perhaps some ancient artifacts or ruins. I also hadn’t expected to run into as much trouble as I did, and I have you to thank for getting me out of there alive.”
She folds her notes back up and shoves them into her pack. "My plan is to travel to Urgir to team up with some other explorers rather than setting off to explore any more caves by myself. If any of you are interested in joining me I do have a lead on another nearby cave."
