Elemenar shuffles around Kiyoko so that he can get an unimpeded line of sight to the monster. Then tosses a small red pepper in his mouth. It's obviously something magic because seconds later he belches a cone of flame at the hairy beast.

Kiyoko collapses next to Elemenar and he steps out of the way to make sure that her falling body doesn't knock him over. That would just make things worse. "We need someone up here now! Kiyoko's been knocked out." Then he notices To-to a few steps away and points at Kiyoko. "She needs your help. I'll try to buy some time." Focusing back on the yeti, Elemenar unleashes another cone of flame.

Fire breath 2nd round

As an immediate action, using her last Resolve to go Unstoppable, stabilize, and remain conscious at -10 (she dies at -14). She's staggered, but won't fall unconscious if she takes a standard action on her turn.

Kiyoko staggers as the yeti batters aside her blade and opens up deep gashes in her torso, shredding her leather lamellar armor. Face set in grim determination, she stays on her feet--though just barely--and brings her katana up into a guard position again.

Sakura takes the opening made by the yeti going for Kiyoko and opens another great wound on the creature. Asb hoofs miss but the unicorn takes a bite out of the yeti.

Will delay until after To-to. Also, shouldn't the yeti be at -77 after Elemenar's action? How badly injured does it look?

To-to shambles behind the unicorn and shrieks a prayer which shields his allies from yeti's claws.

Deflection Aura (Su): Once each day, you can emit a 20-foot aura for a number of rounds equal to your cleric level. Allies within the aura gain a +2 deflection bonus to AC and combat maneuver defense. Lasts 4 rounds.

Keeping her guard up, Kiyoko retreats to the west.

Restricted Withdraw action to move out of the yeti's reach.

Recalculated the damage for the yeti. It is at -75. Elemenar's breath did 8 damage.

Heavily injured with various burns and wounds oozing blood the yeti turns to the fire breather and swipes at him with both claws.Has 10ft reach

As her first swing does not connect, she uses the momentum and swings back with her greatsword!

Sakura almost misses but corrects herself just in time. The unexpected direction of the attack allows it to go past the yeti's guard. The follow up left hoof also finds its mark.

Kiyoko retrieves a vial of liquid from her obi and drinks it, healing some of the worst of her wounds.

Retrieving and drinking a potion of cure light wounds. Not sure if retrieving the potion is a move action, but if so, she’ll have to drink it next round given that she’s staggered.

Elemenar yowls as the creature's claws slash through him. He maintains his composure enough to step back then breathe another gout of flame at the creature.

dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Reflex DC 17 for half

That was a five foot step back.

To-to walks next to Kiyoko and heals her.

Cure moderate: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 8) + 4 = 13

Actually, since Kiyoko Delayed until after To-to last round, her place in the initiative order this round would be after To-to as well. So she'd be un-staggered by the time she retrieved and drank her CLW potion.

So she's back up to 9/31 hp.

Sakura catches the yeti as it attempts to flee, beheading the yeti. The exercise yard is totally silent.

COMBAT OVER

Seeing the yeti fall, Kiyoko nods her thanks for the healing to To-to. She cleans her blade, then resheathes it. “I did not see—does it have the belt?”

Sakura breathes heavily.

“I am glad that Toto and Elemenar are so powerful!! This was quite the beast, right Kiyoko-San?!“ she says and pets her strong white steed.

With no further signs of danger Sakura relaxes and sniffs the air. She detects the faint smell of something that reminds her of tea.

Sakura moves to the first room.

GM, i would propose a clockwise search and take 20 perception in the rooms with detect magic on top.

Kiyoko doesn’t actually ask To-to to heal her, but she hesitates nearby long enough that he can. She then starts searching the rooms from the opposite direction as Sakura, starting with the room the enraged yeti came out of. Out of an abundance of caution (and remembering the wounds she just took from said enraged yeti), she keeps her katana drawn.

Elemenar looks much worse for wear. "I'm afraid I'm not going anywhere for the time being. I'm going to need some time to recover."

To-to clearly isn't in mood to continue any time soon. "Anybody who needs healing, gather around. I'll rest while you search this place." he says and falls to ground after channeling divine energy.

The big hall in the south:
Two large, corroded cooking pots dominate the center of this otherwise unadorned, long, tiered room. Nothing interesting in this room.

The room Sakura entered:
This fifteen-foot-by-thirty-foot room seems to have escaped the destruction found throughout the rest of the monastery. A statue, leaning against the northern wall, appears out of place among the rest of the room’s contents—clay pots, ruined sacks, and aged tools. The statue, made of finely carved stone
with jade inlays, depicts a man with a serene face, standing in a meditative stance.

Sakura takes a closer look at the statue when she suddenly starts hearing words in her head. Greetings young one. This one greets you and welcomes you to the Clouded Path Monastery. Sakura gets the impression of the statue bowing to her in greeting.

Sakura bows back.

“Greetings. Wait a moment please … “ she says and then shouts to the others. “Come over here team!! I found someone important!“ she says.

She returns her attention to the statue.

She asks, “May I ask who you are and what you know about this place? We are seeking the braids of many masters! Do you know where it is?“ she asks.

This one is Jiang Dan, a simple servant of the Master of Masters. I know not where it currently resides. Sakura gets an impression of someone shrugging their shoulders.
The last bearer of the Braid of a Hundred Masters was a master who was challenged to a fight without the Braid. The master's room is the one opposite the entrance from this room.

Sakura sees a map in her mind with a pointer at her current location saying "You are Here" and an X in the room Kiyoko previously checked before the big yeti attacked.

Sakura is curious.

“You seem to know a lot about the past. Why is that? And can you elaborate on what you explained? Who were the last masters? Please, we seek to honor the tradition of Irori! I … I always felt that his path could also be mine …. seeking perfection!!“ she says unnaturally emotional.

Hearing Sakura's call, Kiyoko takes one last look around the room and then joins the other samurai in the room with th4 jade statue. "What did you find?" she asks as she approaches.

It is a tale of foolishness and pride. The last master of this monastery was Master Li Yao. He was also the last bearer of the Braid of a Hundred Masters. The braid was an heirloom passed from the previous master to the next.

None could call upon the power of the braid and so they left the monastery, one by one, once again seeking their true paths to perfection. Eventually, only the petulant student and the braid remained. Here he stayed, until the day he died, contemplating the significance behind his master’s actions. Unable to Perhaps, through searching for the master and his last disciple, you may uncover the answer to the Braid of a Hundred Masters.

Sakura begins to understand!

"Thank you so much for your explanations!" she says.

She bows to the statue and shows Kiyoko, To-to and Elemenar the room that was the master's room.

She then begins to search the room.

Taking 20 perception in the room!

Kiyoko furrows her brows at Sakura. “I already looked there,” she says as she follows the aphorite into the room. With a shrug, she sheathes her katana at last and helps with the search.

Not sure I can take 20 (or 10 or whatever) on an Assist attempt, but if not:

Sakura is surprised at the statement.

"Ehh ... I .. I did not say we had to do something. Just following up on the advice of the statue?!"

Among the various sticks and animal bones Sakura finds a braid. She also finds a number of other, surprisingly fragile items of value located in the nest, including an antique Iroran silver holy symbol worth 100 gp, four jade gemstones worth 50 gp each, a magnifying glass worth 100 gp, a set of silvered armbands depicting pouncing tigers worth 500 gp as a pair, two blue-colored jade gemstones worth 100 gp each; a matched pair of +1 sai; and a +1 temple sword and the armbands with bracers of armor +2.

Elemenar absorbs the healing energy and watches some of his wounds close. The rest will have to wait till later, it seems. A shout from the other room raises his curiosity enough to compel him to shuffle to the room. He catches the tail end of the history lesson.

"So we're after an inept master and his rebellious disciple. Lovely." He steps back out into the courtyard and takes a seat on the ground leaning against the wall. "I'm just going to rest here for a bit while the rest of you look around. Let me know if you see anything I might be interested in."

Sakura takes the items found and brings all of them to To-to and Elemenar.

“Here my friends. Can you see what the properties of these items are? Especially the braid?!?“ she asks curiously.

How many Spellcraft checks do I need?

No check needed. Just Detect magic.

"I assume that is the braid," Kiyoko says. She looks toward the doors to the outer courtyard. "So now is the trek out again. Or maybe we should stay here tonight?"

"I assume so as well. It is a braid and it is magical." Elemenar looks to the sky to judge the time.

What time of day is it?

Sakura agrees with the team.

She decides to show it to the statue.

“Di you potentially know how the braid works?!“ she asks.

To-to rises up and comes to listen what the statue has to say, but doesn't say anything.

“No, I do not. Only the master of the monastery would know how the Braid of a Hundred Masters functions. The last master, Li Yao, left the monastery and the braid here many, many years ago.” the statue replies.

Looking up into the sky Elemenar squints as the sun shines brightly. It seems it is just past noon.
