Description: Kiyoko brings to mind nothing so much as the beauty of an ice sculpture. Perpetually straight-faced, this young Tian-Min samurai-ko is stoic and taciturn, rarely speaking more than necessary. She is possessed of icy blue eyes and an equally icy demeanor, looking upon the world with cold indifference through the bangs of a chin-length platinum bob. She is slender, with the lithe and toned body of a martial artist or swordswoman, and the calloused hands to match. She has a distinctive beauty mark to the right of her chin. Often found wearing a short red kimono, thigh-high tabi stockings, and the geta or zori sandals of Minkai, Kiyoko carries an ancestral katana in her daisho, a jet-black adamantine blade. The base of the blade is inscribed with Tien characters that read 零天星野 (Reitenseiya), or "Starless Night" in the Minkaian language. Portrait(s):
Background: Kiyoko Tamahi is the only daughter and middle child of Kiyoshi and Eriri Tamahi, a pair of samurai serving the governor of Sakakabe in Minkai. Raised in the arts of iaijutsu and kenjutsu from an early age by a man she has only ever known as "Sensei," he sent her off at age 16 (with her family's blessing) on a musha shugyo, a warrior pilgrimage. Though her parents have led relatively peaceful lives, she comes from a line of samurai who often spend years of their lives on musha shugyo, warrior-pilgrimages, acting as knights-errant and wandering troubleshooters. Her grandfather Kiyoto was the previous generation of the family to be a shugyosha (a warrior-pilgrim), and he wielded an ancestral katana called Reitenseiya, or "Starless Night." A few short years before Kiyoko's own musha shugyo, he himself fell in battle against honorless bandits led by a powerful oni, though he defeated the oni and many of the bandits. In an unusual move, Reitenseiya was passed on to Kiyoko rather than the eldest child after her grandfather's death. Long regarded as an iaijutsu prodigy, her Sensei sensed a great deal of potential in the young swordswoman, and this seemed to guide her father's decision. Even so, her older brother Jin seemed to resent being passed over for his sister, especially since he won every single sparring match between the siblings--the only thing preventing a more permanent rift between them was their younger brother, Muzan. Only shortly before she departed on her musha shugyo did he finally seem to let go of his lingering resentments and doubts, when Kiyoko proved that she had finally surpassed him as a swordfighter by besting him in a non-lethal iaijutsu duel. Since her departure from Minkai, she has managed to find her way to Absalom, where she has fallen in with the Pathfinder Society. Languages: Common (Taldane), Tien, Minkaian HP 49

Finally, her samurai levels count as fighter levels and stack with any fighter levels she possesses for the purposes of meeting the prerequisites for feats that specifically select her katana, such as Weapon Specialization. Boons and Vanities: Confirmed Field Agent- Having successfully completed and documented her Confirmation, one of the Three Masters has formally recognized Kiyoko as a field agent and given her a wayfinder engraved with her name and the date of her graduation. Kiyoko may buy a wayfinder for one PP, and may reduce the PP cost of wayfinder vanities by 1 as well.
Explore, Report, Cooperate- Kiyoko has an excellent sense of what makes an exemplary Pathfinder. As a free or immediate action, she may consider whether a particular action named--such as subduing but not killing an enemy, befriending an NPC, or recovering a particular item--would help realize the goals of the Pathfinder Society. The GM then informs the player whether the action's impact would be positive (contributes to meeting a secondary success condition for the scenario), negative (opposes the secondary success condition), or negligible (neither contributes to nor opposes the secondary success condition). If none of these three options accurately reflect the action's impact on Kiyoko's fulfillment of the secondary success conditions, the GM may respond with a phrase of five words or less. Once used, cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet. Friend of Janira Gavix- The field agent who oversaw your Confirmation is appreciative of your bravery and camaraderie in the face of danger. She helps you perform research, granting you a +1 bonus on Knowledge checks attempted while you are in the Grand Lodge. You Rescued the Minotaur Prince: You rescued Nuar Spiritskin, the Minotaur Prince of Absalom and he is quite grateful that you have done so. Though he is absolutely unclear how he got into the Tangle in the first place, he pays this no mind and spreads the tale of your daring-do to his many contacts throughout the city. You gain a permanent +1 circumstance bonus to any Intelligence or Charisma-based checks made while in Absalom. Hydra's Fang aftermath: The Andoren embassy regards you as an upstanding free citizen of the republic. Hydra's Fang aftermath: The Chelish embassy of Absalom recognizes you for your outstanding service to the empire. You get one free use of a divination spell from a cleric of Asmodeus, but can only use it while in Egorian, Cheliax's capital city. [ ] True Ally of the Lantern Lodge: Amara Li recognizes your invaluable contribution in ensuring a strong alliance with the Way of the Kirin, and she promises to assist you in the future. Whenever you spend 1 Prestige Point to gain a +4 bonus on any one skill check while in Tian Xia, the bonus increases to +5. If you are in Goka, the bonus instead increases to +6. If you are a member of the Lantern Lodge faction, cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet. Axe Beak Companion: As long as you have Chronicle sheets for all three parts of the Quest for Perfection campaign arc, you may take an axe beak as a loyal mount or companion; the Chronicle sheets need not be consecutive or in order, but all three must be present in the same character’s records. If you possess a class feature which permits you to take an animal companion or a mount that progresses as an animal companion, you may add the axe beak to your list of legal and available companions. You must present a copy of Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 3 in order to use an axe beak companion as if it were allowed as an additional resource. Other than provide access to this animal as a choice of mount or companion, this boon provides no mechanical benefit. Braid of a Hundred Masters: (5,200 gp) If the wearer of this necklace has levels in monk, his fast movement and unarmed damage are treated as a monk of 3 levels higher. If the character is not a monk, he gains the fast movement and unarmed damage of a 3rd-level monk. This fast movement functions just like the monk’s fast movement class feature. These bonuses do not stack with those granted by other items or effects. In addition, as a swift action three times per day, a character with the flurry of blows class feature can use the Braid of a Hundred Masters to apply 1-1/2 times his Strength bonus on damage rolls for successful attacks made with flurry of blows. This ability must be activated before the damage from the attack is rolled, though it may be activated after the attack roll is made and before the damage roll. Once this ability is activated, its effect lasts for 1 round. Old Loyalties: Your faction recognizes your tireless efforts on its behalf. You can use this boon to reduce the Prestige Point cost of a vanity or prestige award by an amount equal to your Fame divided by 10. This cannot reduce the cost of a vanity or award below 0. When you use this boon, cross it off your Chronicle sheet. Faction: Sovereign Court
