Anyone else want to take a sip?
You feel the ocean’s waves crash through your stomach, which makes you feel sick for the next hour. You take a –1 status penalty to all d20 rolls, AC and spell DCs for an hour.
Valeros Mahuffma |
"Nope. Kyra has the right of it. I don't know about this ocean god, so I don't fancy drinking magic ocean god water. Maybe if it were your god, Kyra. Isolde, you okay? We should keep moving."
GM Tiger |
Ezren, are you planning to take a sip as well? Or are all of you just leaving the shrine?
Ezren 20220408 |
I'm sorry for the late post. Been lethargic since last week.
"I am good. I just want to see what will happen to Isolde after she drinks it." Ezren replies, his thoughts wandering. "Let's move and look for more to discover."
GM Tiger |
You leave the shrine and climb down the rope. Following the corridor, you come to what looks like it was once a storeroom for a building above. At the far side, you can make out what might have been a cage or cell at some point, but it is now full of crates and barrels. Four lizardlike creatures the size of human children are clustered around the door to the cell, trying to pry it open.
The 4 creatures haven't seen you... yet
Kyra PBP |
Instinctively reacting to the evil creatures, Krya rushes forward and casts a burning hands on the lot of them.

How often do you get 4 opponents in a 15' cone spell? Of course I will keep the action. I moved Valeros forward to engage as I expect he will also stick with his actions.

GM Tiger |
Inside the cell is a pile of old crates and a few barrels. While most of these contain long-spoiled food and stained cloth, one of them contains a small pile of treasure: 200 sp, a gold ring worth 5 gp, and a beautiful shortsword.

Valeros Mahuffma |
"Very nice. Did not expect this from a sewage are. Can't wait to see where it leads."
door, doorways? What's our next exit?
Kyra PBP |
I think there is a door on the north wall. The pic on slide 2 seems to suggest so. If confirmed I expect we will avail ourselves of it.
GM Tiger |
The door is on your side is open
This short hallway has smooth walls of worked stone with a door at either end, though the door at the far end is closed. The floor is tiled with large, square stone tiles.
Who takes the sword? Or shall I add it to the loot pile?
Kyra PBP |
Kyra is happy with her blade, unless that one is magical. Not sure she could even use it.
Kyra checks things out with a detect magic.
Kyra PBP |
"Uh, wha? A magical sword! Valeros, you should probably try using it. I've never used a magical sword before, have you?"
Kyra checks the blade for runes, in case she might recognize one from books.
Valeros Mahuffma |
Valeros looks at the magical sword. "It's smaller than my longsword. But it's magical? That's got to be an upgrade! Trapped within the cell for who knows how long. It's time to be free little blade! I will wield it!"
Readjusting his belt to accommodate his new sword, Valeros winks at Kyra and moves to the front of the group, magical sword and shield at the ready.
Kyra PBP |
"Free indeed. We ready to move on?"
Kyra is ready to move on. Not sure if we are doing the rule of two or not.
GM Tiger |
So what else is everyone doing? Isolde and Ezren, you going to follow Valeros into the passage?
Ezren 20220408 |

Isolde successfully secures the loose tile and renders the trap harmless.
The door to this chamber silently glides open to reveal a long room. Two stone statues of priests stand in the corners along one side of the room, facing a towering statue of a man holding out both of his hands, palms up. In front of this statue is a stone altar holding nine golden coins. A voice booms out from the statue.
"In my hands I judge the value of all wealth, raising up whichever is greater. One of these coins is a deception. Find it using only two judgments and receive my blessing."
You know the statue depicts Abadar, the god of wealth and civilization.
Kyra PBP |
kn religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
"Well, I suspect the judgement occurs when you put a pile of coins into each hands and they get weighed. Seems like the thing Abadar would do, what with scales and money being his thing. Not sure how to guarantee finding the false coin with that though. If we only knew whether the false coin is lighter or heavier or we knew what the sign for a false or real coin was then we could do this. Anyway, I say we put three coins in each hand and see what happens. Maybe it will dump the pile if it has the false coin."
Isolde Bascawen |
"Three does seem important. Three there and three there and three off the the side. Should tell us which three has them?" Isolde furrows her brow as she thinks.
