Byron Vhiski |

Byron takes a moment to study his next opponent before stepping forward to attack.
Study Target as a move action, 5 ft step. Attack.
Greatsword Attack+ST: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 = 12
Greatsword Damage+ST: 2d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 + 1 = 12
Not grand.

Hattori Aiko |

Naginata attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Aiko manages another short cut but isn't able to land an effective strike.

Winsome Briskalberd |

Winsome attempts to climb up, using the rope that Adrian tossed down.
Climb: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3

Lyraesel |

Lyraesel presses the attack, trying to bring down the frenzied bird-man before it can do more damage.
+1 Cold Iron sickle/Flank: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
Magic/Slashing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

GM-MM |

Your correct my bad I missed that. Zaraleva would have used her turn, Winsome would have a second attempt as well. DC 5 with the ruined wall and the rope.
Aiko’s slash finds true, Roll damage please! winsome starts to make his way up the rope but starts to slip on the stones still wet with morning dew.
Round 3 left to go: winsome, Dire Corbies, Lyraesal Stated

Winsome Briskalberd |

Winsome tries again.
Climb: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14

GM-MM |

Winsome scampers up, to see the chaos of the tower. The fire corny bloodied but not in the state the one that just perished was whirls around. Slashing at Aiko who just wounded it as it steps up.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 231d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Take 6 damage as a non confirmed crit and a hit land
The claws land home as the fury of the creature is on display fighting despite its impending doom.

Adrian Liu |

That's a bit enough from the bird. Adrian moved over to flanking position to put and end to the creature.
Flurry 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
The monk sought to end things with a somersault kick, landing both feet on the winged creature's chin.

Lyraesel |

As the others climb up to join them, Lyraesel studies the stony surface of the battlements, looking for prints or any other sign of where the Dire Corbies had come from inside.
Survival (to figure which door/exit they used to come up here): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

Hattori Aiko |

Aiko wipes a trickle off blood from her neck and grimaces slightly at her own clumsiness.
"I'm going to check the body... then we need to get rid of them. Though the blood on the stones will be impossible to hide, unless we have magic to clean it up."

GM-MM |

Kelda comes running having followed behind and held rearguard, quickly climbing the rope and helping Zaraleva up as well. As she chambers up you all reconvene. You can see a hatch leading down easily enough.
I will have a post up soon detailing what you can see in the courtyard and the other happenings going on. I am having trouble with accessing my notes with the wifi. Hoping only to delay things a moment. Please hold until then.

Byron Vhiski |

Byron will also aid in searching the bodies and dumping them over the wall to hide them from easy sight.

Lyraesel |

As the bodies are dumped, Lyraesel stands over each blood pool uttering a phrase in an ancient primal language as she conjures gallons of water to obscure much of the details of what has happened.
Create water 6 gallons per casting. Can wash the area clean in
less than a minute

GM-MM |

From the top of the all you can see an ancient-looking catapult sits atop the stone roof of this flat- topped building on the opposite side of the courtyard. Moss grows on the catapult’s ropes and on the four round boulders sitting nearby. You can hear from inside the castle the sounds of creatures growling and squeaking but the sound doesn’t seem to change despite the quick combat.
As you all start to work to clean the blood up and move the bodies you hear from below several loud squaks and the sound of a board moving and can see below the doors open. Two more of the creatures look to be making a run for it.

Lyraesel |

Racing down beside Ardian, Lyraesel drops low to slash at the knee of one of the crow-men, seeking to take it down with her attack
+1 Cold Iron sickle/Charge: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
Magic/slashing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Improved Trip: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Zaraleva |

"Adrian, no! You're still wounded!" Zaraleva rushes out halfway to Adrian (20 feet) while still staying within 30 feet of Aiko, so she can channel. I don't know why the two corbies might be wounded, but I exclude them from the channel.
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7

Byron Vhiski |

Byron will move to intercept as well!
I am not sure which map we are in, but I will run, jump or do whatever else is needed to catch up.

Hattori Aiko |

Aiko likewise stows her naginata (standard action) and starts making her way back down to help engage.
Should be able to climb down the rope without a roll. Base speed is also 40'.

Winsome Briskalberd |

Winsome swallows and looks around. "I'll, uh... guard this door," he suggests.
Not sure if he's in range to fire a magic missile. If he is, he'll edge over to the battlements and shoot it at the furthest enemy.
Magic missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

GM-MM |

they would be in T1, shown on the first slide of the maps. I didn’t put them on there yet since they aren’t technically seen yet.
- I’ll say Zaraleva’a channel gets everyone healed before they hop down: hopping down will either require an acrobatics roll to not fall prone since it’s just high enough. Climbing down is just as simple as climbing up was, and can be negotiated even easier since only climbing 10’ feet will get you short enough to drop safely.
Several of you go to get to the doors on the inner courtyard to stop any others from being pulled into the fight, just as the doors start to creep open.
I’ll wait here for rolls and any changes to actions. Going down the rope may not be quick enough to make it as the front doors are still shut. But could make for an excellent flanking maneuver. I will use the same initiative as before but move them to the bottom once we get things going.

Adrian Liu |

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
No mistakes this time. He took note to thank Zaraleva for the healing later as he leaps and bounces off from the wall to land safely, adrenaline making sure he didn't slip and fall this time around.

Hattori Aiko |

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Aiko eschews the rope and simply leaps down and tumble-rolls when she hits the ground.

Byron Vhiski |

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Nice...

GM-MM |

Kelda sword and shield in hand vaults over the side of the rampart.
acro: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (19) - 5 = 14
She lands with a solid thud next to the rest of you, while maybe it was the way he landed or a rock was under his foot but Buron’s knees buckle and he falls as he lands on the ground taking 1d6 ⇒ 2 damage.
With what preparation you could the doors open to two fire corbies surprised by your presence just outside the door. One of the the fire corbies is hit with a magic missile while the other is caught by Lyraesal’s sickle and tripped. Kelda goes to slash with her longsword at the tripped one.
Longsword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 91d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Unfortunately it proves to quick and you see it roll over out of the way just in time.
Aiko, and Lui may get attacks assuming they would have prepared to attack the moment the doors opened. But otherwise turn order from the top.
Turn order Adrian, Byron, Aiko, winsome, Zaraleva, Lyraesal, Kelda, DC’s

Byron Vhiski |

Byron takes a moment to examine the corby next to him and attacks from the ground.
I moved to the courtyard where I think I would have landed next to them. I will attack from prone after using my Studied Target ability. I do not think they have gone yet, if that is in fact the case I get my sneak attack as well.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 4 + 1 = 16
Greatsword Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 + 1 = 10
Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Hattori Aiko |

Aiko leans forward and thrusts her naginata past Adrian into the doorway.
Naginata attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Adrian Liu |

Adrian will do the same. You can use the rolls I did earlier, but if not here are the new ones.
Flurry 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Flurry 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Confirm?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Zaraleva |

If I'm reading the map correctly, Z is standing on the wall directly above them and they probably don't even know she's there. But feel free to apply bonuses or penalties as needed.
Zaraleva feels like she's on top of the world pointing her deadly crossbow down at the unsuspecting, evil, murdering, kidnapping monsters.
Crossbow vs. Flatfooted?: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 - 4 = 20 to hit.
Total of 20 vs. flatfooted and firing into melee against the standing one?
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Winsome Briskalberd |

Winsome moves next to Zaraleva and fires an arcane bolt at the other monster.
Ranged touch attack (Arcane Bolt), higher ground: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 = 20 (possibly vs flat-footed AC)
Damage (force): 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Hattori Aiko |

Naginata attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Undaunted, Aiko lashes out past Adrian again, this time scoring a telling hit.
Naginata damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

GM-MM |

The one standing is assailed by Adrian’s attacks. Fighting on despite the attack overwhelming injuries. When suddenly a bolt hits it square in the back of the head. It drops, the one on the ground is struck by the arcane bolt and with Aiko’s slash starts frothing at the mouth as it’s bleeding out barely alive.
sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Kelda: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 251d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 91d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Kelda lunges forward and drives the blade through the creatures chest, it claws at it for a moment before dying. You all are left on the outskirts of the courtyard and the ramparts. The gatehouse is open and you can see faintly inside that there is no other threats inside, which is more than you can say for the rest of the area.

GM-MM |

Zaraleva you go to loot the bodies but they carry nothing on them, not even clothes, and quickly moving on to the room. As you guys search the room you see the stone structure has a packed dirt floor, and numerous wooden support beams for the stone ceiling above. The south door is a wooden set of doors with rusted iron bracing. A mechanism holds it shut and a old lever is next to it. Two ladders lead up to hatches that lead to the top of the walkway you were at.
Adrian you notice amidst the dusty room several signs: spilled arrows near the slits, old bloodstains, longbows scattered about and long since ruined. You can tell some great battle took place here, however it was long ago. Years possibly decades by the looks of it.

Byron Vhiski |

"I think we have kept the element of surprise. Where do we want to start?" Byron asks as he follows into the guardhouse.
