Dorian 'Grey' |
@Tannakin there are too many Actions. It takes an Interact Action to draw a weapon. Also, a Seek Action is needed to locate any spiders. Apologies, if that wasn't clear. You may keep that roll for whicheverActionyou choose to do that requiresa roll.
Tannakin Skinker |
I hoped that when Airi saw the spider, we'd know too! And I found this: "If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you may draw a weapon as a free action combined with a regular move."
Seek: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Dorian 'Grey' |
Considering there is not any base attack bonus in PF2e, you may have peeked at PF1e rules? Happens to me often.
Airi did not have another Action to Point Out, so no one else knows where a spider is currently unless use a Seek Action.
Tannakin Skinker |
Yeah, must have. I searched 2e rules, but it brought up a 1e post. Sigh.
Tannakin, after her 14 seek check, redoes her turn, deciding to call encouragement to her friends.
One for All Airi: 20 + 10 = 30 "You're doing great, sis! Can you see where those dang spiders went?"
One for All Leo: 20 + 10 = 30 "I recommend throwing stuff at 'em, Leo!"
They are very, very encouraged. And Tan has panache for later, if she needs it.
Dorian 'Grey' |
You may have forgotten the 1 in the d20 part...lol. You can use that good roll from 2 posts ago for Seek.
Tannakin Skinker |
Darn it's not my day is it
Actual roll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Actual roll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Dorian 'Grey' |
Round 2!
Sansaárë struggles to free herself from the webs!
Fail! Fail!
Tannakin also has some difficulty and the 1/2 elf quietly contemplates her decisions in her life....
Leo and Julril may post for Round 3!
Leialoha of the Sugalo |
Watching the spider, Leo tells his trusty mount, "Holdest very still Ambrose" Leo refreshes his shield ◆Raise Shield AC 18 as he points at the chair again, he gathers it with his Telekinetic Projectile ◆◆ and flings it at the spider.
telekinetic projectile: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 for damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Dorian 'Grey' |
Round 3!
With the thick spider webbing in the way, Leo's chair flies through the room like an arrow in honey!
Miss. There is Concealment if further than 15' and any Spiders are currently Hiddened.
Julril is up for Round 3!
Julril Zummish |
As the enemies retreat, Julirl concentrates on his prayer to extend Iomedae's blessing. ◆ to concentrate on Bless, 15ft emenation.
He then searches for the spider amongst the webs. ◆Seek: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
"Above the eastern door!" he ◆Points Out.
Dorian 'Grey' |
My next post depends on what the group decides to do next?
The Spider seen by Julril is leaving (suddenly recalled it left the stove on), so there will not be any immediate threat(s).
Do we want to pursue (staying in Encounter mode), or return to Exploration mode to get our bearings?
Either way both Tann and Airi are still stuck to the floor...lol!
Let Me know which?
Tannakin Skinker |
First order of business: get unstuck. Then we can decide what to do next. Acrobatics to get free, right?
Acro: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Tannakin nimbly pulls her boots out of the webbing.
"You free, Airi?"
Leialoha of the Sugalo |
Frowning as his chair-projectile gets snagged on multiple webs and falls to the floor, Leo turns his attention towards his taller associates. Realizng they were fairly entangled in the webs, he informs his trusty mount, "Ambrose, they are't stuck, verly we must help." Waiving his hands, Leo starts to use prestidigitation ◆◆ to pull webs from the armored Julril, while Ambrose starts to lick the webs off of Tannakin's boots.
Sansaárë. |
Sansaárë starts to struggle to try to get out of the web.
Acrobatics DC20: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Yes I am finally out. Thanks sis for asking. We need to clean some of this out so we can get through without getting stuck again and then we pursue them. What do you guys think?
Sansaárë then starts to look around at all of it.
Dorian 'Grey' |
With the quiet calm in the room, our Heroes find themselves inundated by thick webs covering every surface--wall to wall and floor to ceiling.
Sansaárë, Tannakin and Julril (with a little help from a friend) remove the sticky strands of stretched and steel-like webbing from themselves.
Peering about, they begin to plan some sort of web removal company concept....
If we are in Initiative, post 3 Actions please. The webs cause each square to be difficult terrain.
Tannakin Skinker |
"Normally, I'd burn these, but I think we need this house."
Tannakin pulls out her long spoon looted from the kitchen. She gets a big gob of webbing stuck to it, then starts swirling it around until it's like cotton candy.
Leialoha of the Sugalo |
Seeing Tanakin begin to clean the cobwebs out of the corners, Leo continues using prestidigitation to push the webs back out of the way of his friends. Asking, "Shalt we clean all of yon cobwebs, or only enough to clear a way?"
Willing to spend minutes doing this, or follow the spider or move on to exploring the rest of the house.
Sansaárë. |
Sansaárë looks at all the webs and shakes her head.
There are 2 possible sollutions for us.
1)We gets lots of buckets of water, and burn it all.
2)Someone that can use a Wind spell would hasten any progress.
These two would be most helpful than trying to get through these webs.
We also need to search this room to see if there is anything useful in here to help us with the spider and anything else that may be in here. Then we can go after the spider.
Tannakin Skinker |
Tan yawns, stretches, and follows Airi, whether to gather buckets or to venture deeper into the house.
Leialoha of the Sugalo |
No one's moved on the map, is everyone going the same direction?
Distracted with cleaning the cobwebs, Leo is oblivious to what the others are doing. But Ambrose keeps looking from Julril to Tannakin and Airi, trying to figure out who to follow.
Dorian 'Grey' |
Why am I getting an Abbott and Costello visual?
@Julril only 2 spiders were seen and 1 of those done got dead.
I will move us along when I get on laptop.
Dorian 'Grey' |
Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire!
With webs tickling and taunting our Heroes, they decide to press on! The group begins making their way semi-blindly through the thick webbing to where Julril seen the Spider escaping.
Taking painstakingly long, but ever determined, they push, swat, twist, shake their way through the room and out into a hallway also thick with webbing, although both Sansaárë and Tannakin can see that it becomes less thick just in front of them.
The area that you are in is still covered thick with webs, but after that initial 10' area it clears mostly.
The door being open to her North, Sansaárë takes a frustrating peek inside.
B12
A tangle of cobwebs fills this room, obscuring the details of the bed and table within.
Juril notices another door just to his South, but it is closed.
B10
Tannakin notices a slight banging, thumbing coming from ahead....
Leo (and Ambrose) sneeze and itch from the invasion webbing!
Tannakin Skinker |
"There's something thumping up ahead!"
Tannakin draws and loads her hand crossbow, moving with it and her rapier both at the ready.
"This crossbow-sword combo looks pretty badass, amiright?"
Dorian 'Grey' |
Tannakin Skinker |
Perc: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
"Lots of thumping in the room to the right. Noisy little home we have."
Leialoha of the Sugalo |
Sneezing loudly from the webbing, Leo rubbed tears from his eyes. Drawing Ambrose to a stop, "Tis thumping? Does't thou thing we shoulds't explore it?"
um if it's relevant I'll keep the Mode at 'Follow the expert, namely Tannakin?
Sansaárë. |
Sansaárë looks at her sister.
Shall we go in to see what's inside or keep on looking for the spider?
She then draws out her weapon and raises her shield.
I'm ready. What about you guys?
Dorian 'Grey' |
Apologies! Banging is coming from B7 and up ahead the hallway.
@Leo Follow the Expert is probroly not applicable. Search is always using Perception to look for thing if that suits you better?
Our Heores hear noises coming from both ahead and inside and behind a door. There is also the lost spiders to consider. Where did they go? What will our Heroes decide to do?
Place Tokens where you are going please?
Leialoha of the Sugalo |
@Leo Follow the Expert is probroly not applicable. Search is always using Perception to look for thing if that suits you better?
Perception is grand, does Ambrose get a roll as well?
perception: Leo: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8perception: Ambrose: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
I'm ready. What about you guys?
As Sansaárë asks her seemingly easy question, Leo's eyes grow wide in concern as Ambrose wags his tail and begins to prance about. Clearly showing that the pixie and his mount are of two separate minds.
Keeping the anxious pup in the rear, Leo asks Julril, "Perchance yon banging tis more spiders?"
Dorian 'Grey' |
The banging, rattling is getting g seemingly closer. Also, the banging, clattering is a bit more persistent behind the door....
Sansaárë. |
Sansaárë nods to Julril. The Rogue takes a peek into the immediate room covered in spider webs.
Looks like a good place to start.
Perception to Seek: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Dorian 'Grey' |
@Leo there is not any actually rules for Familiars getting to do Exploration Activities. Let us say, he can do simple ones like Search (scent) or Scout?
Ambrose does indeed pay attention to the immediate room covered in spider webs. He seems to be growling a bit at the room.
Leo gets distracted by a particular thread of webbing that one may say resembles a tiny dancer.
Tannakin does notice the sounds of banging, shuffling sounds approaching from ahead....the creaking and cranking form of a skeleton rounds the corner!
Julril stays on task and the cleric seems ready to back up the rogue in her endeavor.
Sansaárë peers carefully into the spider web infused room to hear the unmistakable sounds of skittering and scattering of many legs! Suddenly, the many-eyed face of a scary and hairy creature is face to face with her!
Reaction Trigger A creature touches the web lurker's web while the web lurker is on it. Requirement: Initiative has not yet been rolled. Effect: The web lurker automatically notices the creature and Strides or Climbs before rolling initiative.
Sansaárë Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 2nd
Tannakin Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 4th
Leo Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 2nd
Round 1!
The unmistakable sounds of many legs creeping in the direction of Sansaárë mature into the form of the Web Lurker!
It smiles wickedly at our poor Rogue, licking its lips before trying to take a juicy bite!
◆Melee Fangs: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 141d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
poison Saving Throw: Fortitude DC 19; Maximum Duration: 10 rounds; Stage 1: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison and flat-footed (1 round); Stage 2: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison, flat-footed, and slowed 1 (1 round).
Apparently, it had (all!) its eyes closed and bit the door frame!
Ever determined (his parents taught him to be persistent), the Web Lurker (all eyes wide open) attempts the biting thing again!
◆Melee Fangs: 1d20 + 11 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 11 - 5 = 71d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
poison Saving Throw: Fortitude DC 19; Maximum Duration: 10 rounds; Stage 1: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison and flat-footed (1 round); Stage 2: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison, flat-footed, and slowed 1 (1 round).
With the disappointment apparent on his fuzzy face, the Web Lurker decides to ◆retreat back into the web shrouded room!
The Web Lurker is considered Hidden because of the webs.
Leo and Sansaárë are up for Round 1!
The Spider room is Difficult Terrain from the thick webs.
Leialoha of the Sugalo |
@Leo there is not any actually rules for Familiars getting to do Exploration Activities. Let us say, he can do simple ones like Search (scent) or Scout?
ok, I figure Leo will be eternally mounted, so if Leo is looking about, Ambrose will be sniffing, is that cool?
As Ambrose growls towards the door Sansaárë is looking in, Leo notices the skeleton coming around the corner. "Oh Bother." Turning back and looking over his shoulder Leo refreshes his shield ◆Raise Shield AC 18 as he points at the broken chair in the dinning room. Gathering one of the broken legs with his Telekinetic Projectile ◆◆ and flings it down the hallway at the skeleton.
one would assume a broken chair leg would do bludgeoning damage, but one doesn't know for sure
telekinetic projectile: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 for damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (3, 6) + 8 = 17
Tannakin Skinker |
Tannakin waits eagerly to see if there's any unlife left in those old bones after that impressive chair-legging of their skeletal foe.
Dorian 'Grey' |
Tannakin is happy to see bits and pieces of former animated skeleton being haphazardly displayed amongst the decor!
Goodnight skeleton!
Sansaárë seems to freeze in place at the sudden springing surprise of the Web Lurker!
She delays until tomorrow after work. Today was her first day back since January.
There are sounds of skittering inside the Web room!
Tannakin and Julril ate up for Round 1!
A Seek Action is needed to see anything in Web room DC 17
Tannakin Skinker |
Congrats on being back to work, Airi!
Tan seeks: Seeeeeek: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
She speaks: "It's in there, over there right there in the room"
She shoots: Shoooots: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 251d6 ⇒ 1
She shrugs.
She shouts: One for All: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
"Airi! Remember to stab towards the middle of the spider, you'll do eight times more damage than if you hit it in the leg!"
Aid to stab
Julril Zummish |
"Excellent Leo!"
With the skeletal threat eliminated, Julril steps past the stunned Airi to take down her attacker.
Shield already Raised
◆Seek: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
◆Stride
◆Strike Smoking Longsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
S dmg+fire dmg: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
I can't move my token into the room.
Dorian 'Grey' |
It should be fixed! Also, just in case anyone was wondering if Julril's "16" hits the spider? I really can't say (nope), but if someone wanted to give him just a bit of a boost....Tann?
Sansaárë. |
Sansaárë seemingly a bit startled ◆Strides into the web room to Strike at the Spider!
The Rogue tries to Feint the spider!
◆Deception(Cha)(E): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
She then tries to stick it in an eye!
◆Melee(T) +1 Shortsword, flanking: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 161d6 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (6) = 14 P Traits Agile, Finesse, Versatile S
Tannakin Skinker |
I already designated my boost for Airi and it looks like she might need it, too!
Dorian 'Grey' |
Round 1!
With a furious ruckus, Leo tosses perfectly good (if a bit dusty with webs) furniture haphazardly about! It totally crushes the skeleton that was innocently rounding the corner to greet his new guests!
Good-bye Blue skies, Good-bye....
Tannakin decides to take a quick peek, sees the spider and let loose a bolt at its leg!
Hit!
The swashbuckler then redirecting offers Julril a bit of her 2 cents on the matter of killing spiders.
Success! +1 Julril!
Julril (being more educated on matters of spiders) Strides confidently inside the web filled room (mouth, ears, nose, hair,...) and flaming swords the thing!
Hit with Tannakin's Aid!
Sansaárë (having been already introduced and aware of said spider) decides to have her own fun by striding into the web room (mouth, ears, nose, hair,...) and fakes out a being with many eyes and stabs only (but precisely) one of them!
Success! because of Feint and Hit!
The spider falls (slowly through the thick webbing) to land with a squish and a splatter (boots!) onto the floor!
Dorian 'Grey' |
Round 2!
Suddenly amidst the commotion and tomfoolery, out of the opposite corners like Mike Tyson and that one guy with a missing ear, is another Giant Spider and the Web Lurker!
Both maneuver into a Flanking position (after some chittering from the Web Lurker at the spider) and attempt to fang the Rogue!
Melee Fangs, flank: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 221d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 Hit! 9 damage
posion Saving Throw: Fortitude DC 19; Maximum Duration: 10 rounds; Stage 1: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison and flat-footed (1 round); Stage 2: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison, flat-footed, and slowed 1 (1 round).
Smiling with dirty fangs, he tries again!
Melee Fangs, flank: 1d20 + 11 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 11 - 5 = 91d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Miss!
posion Saving Throw: Fortitude DC 19; Maximum Duration: 10 rounds; Stage 1: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison and flat-footed (1 round); Stage 2: [[1d6]] (1d6) poison, flat-footed, and slowed 1 (1 round).
The Giant Spider (being quite impressed with his boss) attempts to follow suite!
Melee Bite, flank: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 271d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Hit! 8 damage!
And just because his boss is watching!
Melee Bite, flank: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 5 = 241d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 CRIT! 16 damage!
Everyone is up for Round 2!
Sansaárë is at Dying 2! She needs to make 2 Fortitude saves from the 2 Poisons.
Dorian 'Grey' |
I already designated my boost for Airi and it looks like she might need it, too!
She hits because of her Feint making it Flat-footed, so I gave it to Julril. Hope you don't mind?
Julril Zummish |
Julril shouts a prayer and extends his sword point to touch Airi's fallen form, "Iomedae heal this soldier on the field of battle!"
◆◆Heal: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Then he swings his sword for the spider.
◆Strike, Smoking Longsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
"Leo, throw a chair this way!"
