Hey @Northern Dreamer ;)
I saw you running this and couldn't miss this opportunity! I actually never played with you in PBP, so I am glad to fix this as well.
Just for the record I just ended up playing A Festive Operation and I really liked it :) Well done!

Welcome, Zelen! Once you post in the Gameplay thread, the character you post as will be added to the Characters tab. Ulvard and I posted and then immediately deleted our posts; this adds us as characters, but doesn't leave content-free posts in the thread. The boards term for this is "phantom dotting." (The dotting part comes from the fact that threads you've posted in have a dot next to them in the forum list.)

That's a really good tip, thank you! Next thing is to get used to the markup language and how to add my animal companion. Happy to learn as I go

Most people create Aliases for the animal companion, it is like a regular character, but they don't get PFS number.
You go to your account and find button create Alias. Then you go to the profile and click create profile page. Then you can fill the stats as for any other character, and you can post as them on the boards.
A bit like: Hoppers Wolf

Fantastic, thank you very much again. Got Delta up and ready now. Will sort out his stats later

Hi all!
As we start this journey together, please make sure you fill out the character information to the best of your ability on the Google Slide deck for this game. Also, please make sure I have access to a sheet for your character (either your profile filled out or a link to a sheet from elsewhere) so that I can use the info if needed for secret checks, or bot your character if needed.

I still need to get my token up, but everything else should be set. (The Paizo site is blocked at work, and copying from my phone is not feasible.)

![]() |

GM Sorry for the delay. I forgot to dot in though I think I already filled in the macros and all.

Gnavy, you're an orc now? You were a gnoll before... :)

At 1st lvl I experiment with a lot of ancestry. In theory you can't change it when rebuilding, so I find ancestry with similar bonuses and try to RP given ancestry. I couldn't find myself as gnoll :|
I like orcs, and I have been playing them couple times, so I decided to keep going.
BTW. ElGrande don't take Gnavy's lack of enthusiasm towards your inventions with my approach ;) I just try to think what would an orcish warrior think of them ;) And r2-d2 would not impress them unless it can wield axe like no one before :D

![]() |

Did somebody say bleach? Aaaaaaahhhhh!
*Runs away screaming*
Concentrated hydrogen peroxide is a little past being a bleaching agent, though, so exposure would probably qualify as a new and exciting (albeit brief and painful) experience.

Eh, if I'm honest I found it quite off-putting. It sends quite the message of "my character doesn't think your character is useful" which is not what I want from society play. I prefer to be everyone's cheerleader
You're entitled to do what you want with your character though

In that case, sorry, that was not my intention. Gnavy does not think that your PC is not useful. He questions if the robot is sentient, as in the post your companion hasn't done something to make him believe that. I was actually hoping to set Delta up for responding in a voice or doing another impressing thing that would show him otherwise. At the same time, I was setting it up for a brilliant change of heart, where Zelen can show how his inventions are useful in combat and make Gnavy both impressed and taught to not underestimate things. But probably I could have done it in a better manner or expressed my intentions clearly ;)
The charms of written communication ;)
Anyways I hope you will not hold a grudge (as that would be very dwarven of your elf ;)).
==================================
@Mike - is everything ok with @NorhernDreamer? I hope it is just being busy and that she is all right!

Ivis and I are 2/3 of the PaizoCon leadership committee, and GM/HQ volunteer letters started going out this week, so we're a bit swamped. I'm sure she'll check in here sooner rather than later.

Woah woah wait, I've just found out that this bounty is being GM'd by the author, but one of our fellow players wrote Sodden stories (my favourite bounty I've played so far)!
That's super cool!

Thanks for understanding man. Still have a chance to do those things!
Bearing a grudge on these things would be silly, especially after such an articulate apology. Enthusiasm level back up!

Gnavy, your point about written communication is well taken. There are things that work well around a table that get lost in a low-bandwidth asynchronous medium like the boards (and things that work well around a table with your friends that wouldn't work in OP at a con with a bunch of strangers, but I digress). IME with PbP, if you're given a choice between not playing in character and coming across badly and/or making the game difficult for another player/the GM, stick with not playing in character.

Ivis reports that we should expect to get moving on this caravan tomorrow, by the by! Before we both got swamped with PaizoCon stuff, she tells me that she was just sitting back laughing and enjoying the RP in the tavern.
Also, thank you! :)

I didn't see anything about this in the Rules Discussion forum, so it's probably something obvious: is it possible for someone with the Acrobatic Performer feat to use Acrobatics to Earn Income during downtime?

Acrobatic Performer specifically lets you use Acrobatics for the Perform action, but not any other actions of the Performance skill. IMHO they should have used a different word than "Perform" as a subset of "Performance," but it is what it is, unfortunately.
Performance - "Earn Income" is a different action than "Perform"
Hope that helps!

That's about what I thought, although that makes the feat seem kind of useless.

I was planning to do the same thing for another character... rats... :)

Re @CanisDirus and Northerndreamer - yeah, they are not only authors of some good pieces, but also great GMs and players!

This I agree with 100%.
Fun fact -- Watson Dalimar Butheby was part of my table when I ran B17 when it came out. I was totally shocked when I found out who he was...

![]() |

Hey GM you ok over there?

![]() |

I guess Watson isn't familiar with the discovery sometime pre-1980s of a bunch of bodies of Romans in Britain--found wearing, basically, blue jeans: riveted blue-dyed canvas trousers.

![]() |

Watson doesn't remember that from any of his History of Ancient Rome classes, no (nor do any of his player's scholarly resources). Especially since denim wasn't invented until the 17th Century, at the earliest :P

![]() |

Gene Wolfe might have been having us all on about the pants, but IIRC (this was over thirty years ago, so I might not RC) at least one other person on the panel had heard of it. It was in any case plausible; Britain had blue dye, and the Romans had plenty of sailcloth.

![]() |

I sent a PM, but didn't get a reply. They may be busy with RL commitments of course, but bounties don't normally take much effort to run so I hope it is nothing more serious.

Ok - so first my apologies. Between PaizoCon and real life medical I got behind, and then posting again has been causing anxiety cause it was late, which would then cycle and get worse until I was much further behind here than I thought - and for that I am really, really sorry. (I also just realized I had the PM on here, I'm not the best at noticing them at times). CanisDirus got in touch with me earlier and I talked this out, and I think I am okay to pick this back up as long as y'all are okay keeping me as your GM. I am planning to try and get the post up moving us forward before I head to bed this evening.

![]() |

Yeah. No hurry, just worried that you vanished. Glad you are okay and it is mostly con-season time-crush.
Hope you are feeling better now. I'm just doing my own post convid recovery, so really know how draining that convolessing can be.

![]() |

Shall I post in Cottonseed to see if anyone else can finish us off?
The GM might just send a few adult red dragons... that'll really finish us of... :)
