Lexicor steps away and fires again.

Those two shots hit - the Mech is looking very wobbly (-68). It staggers forwards, sounding more like Max Headroom than M C Hammer and punches the nearest Starfinder - Vormatian

Shini, didn't roll a second time for the critical hit damage.
Cha'mon Cha'mon, fires again with his plasma guide rifle.
"You're a one hit wonder MC Hammer."

Shyni also got a crit? .... in that case ...
The mech rocked on it's feet - it tried to take a step - then crashed to the ground with sparks leaping out of the many gaps in it's frame. This meams that Vormatian did not get punched.
--- Combat over ---
Lizisk thanks you for having her back, and to thank you, she shoves some surplus items into your hands before they depart. These items are: a mk 1 decoupler grenade, a pusher decoupler and a liquidator disintegrator cannon.
You then travel to the familiar neighbourhood of Drifter's End that surrounds the Lorespire Complex and can duck into a building or alleyway to rest and heal up.
Lexicor |
Lexicor recovers his composure with the fall of the crazy mech.
I will add to my report the next software upgrade should include a safety override and automatic shutdown routine.
Rilynn Rae |
Rilynn nods to Lizisk but passes on the weapons, figuring she''l fare about as poorly as she does with the rifle.
When the group reaches the Lorespire Complex she helps any who need basic medical, and is willing to share a healing serum if needed.
Medicine: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
"I hope the Starfinders have some idea what's causing all of this. I'll be on the first flight back to Castrovel if my hair dryer tries to burn my face off tomorrow."
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Cha'mon Cha'mon, takes a quick breather before moving on. 10 minute break and spend 1 resolve point to regain stamina.
"I could use some medical attention," looking plaintively at Rilynn he says as he slumps down against the machinery he was taking cover behind.
"This is all Morvruul's fault."
Shyni |
Shyni also rests to catch his breath. Spend Resolve for Stamina
He also realizes that he hasn't been using his apocalypse crystal and vows to use it next time.
Since no one else seems interested, he'll take the pusher decoupler pistol, just in case.
phaeton_nz |
As long as your hairdryer doesn't have any access to the infosphere, whether it be by wire or wireless, you should be fine
phaeton_nz |
After resting for a bit you continue towards the Lorespire Complex, much to Morvruul's relief.
The sprawling streets and corridors of Drifter’s End are barren without the blaze of neon signs and bustle of pedestrians. The streets are nearly empty, and most windows of shops, bars, and apartment housing units have been quickly boarded up with plywood or sheets of corrugated metal. A pregnant silence hovers over the stricken neighborhood, as though the Station itself holds its breath in anticipation.
Flickers of peripheral movement attract attention as dozens of spindly machines emerge like hornets from a disturbed nest. The black and silver bots crawl out of grates, explode through doorways and hatches, and tumble out of alleyways to form a writhing mass in the middle of the street. The crowd collectively snaps to attention and scuttles away, as though bound for a singular destination.
Rilynn Rae |
Rilynn hands Cha'mon a Mk 1 serum of Healing. "I've got another if you need it."
Observing the behavior of the mechanical critters in the street, she says, "It's like there is a centralized intelligence directing them. I have a feeling we're going to find out very soon. Let's keep going."
Lexicor |
”Indeed, the odds of all of these malfunctioning units simultaneously would be low, thereby suggesting deliberate control or tampering.“
Morvruul the Merchant |
"This is all Morvruul's fault."
Only for failing to take you out when I had the chance! muses Morvruul.
Spying the mass of bots, Morvruul says aloud. "There are far too many of those automatons to take on at once, even for one with my skills. But, it is not matter. Let them march off to wherever they need to go. As for me, I need to get to the Lorespire Complex!"
phaeton_nz |
Nobody is sure what these 'bots are but they match the description of those 'rogue units' you were told about back in the Security Pavilion.
It also looks like they too, are heading for the Lorespire Complex.
Do you try to do anything about this or bypass them?
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Can Cha'mon Cha'mon use Rilynn's medicine roll to apply the Treat Deadly Wounds action on himself. I vote to bypass also.
Morvruul the Merchant |
"Don't just stand there gawking at the robot horde! We need to get to the Lorespire Complex before they do!" Morvruul cries.
phaeton_nz |
That looks like a majority to bypass this potential fight
You finally arrive at the Lorespire Complex. At the Starfinder Society headquarters, it’s immediately clear that a massive battle has just taken place. The charred and crushed remains of robots identical to the ones you saw in Drifter’s End lay scattered across the lawns and courtyards. Armed Starfinders stand stationed at each entrance to the main building. Many of these guards bear the familiar Exo-Guardians emblem or wear gear and insignia associated with Radaszam’s Obsidian Spiders mercenary outfit. As Starfinders, you automatically know that these are both factions associated with the Society that actively recruit combat trained agents into their ranks—it’s clear that they have come together to defend the Lorespire Complex in its time of need. These Starfinders nod grimly to you as you pass but are too involved in their tasks to offer further assistance or conversation.
As you approach the facility, Celita, the leader of the Dataphiles faction, intercepts them. She’s wearing an armored vest under her usual attire, carries a rifle slung across her back, and is clearly out of breath from physical exertion. She explains what little she knows of the situation—that a digital virus was unleashed by an unknown attacker on the space station, coinciding with an attack mounted by an unidentified robotic army— and encourages you to rest while her Dataphiles associates gather more information.
Celita turns a stoic face to the group. You must be the Starfinders scheduled to arrive today. It’s impressive that you managed to bridge this distance so quickly. Thanks to your quick reflexes, and to the efforts of a veteran team who helped defend the Complex grounds from those machines, we were able to evade the worst of this attack. The Archives and Guidance remain uncorrupted by the virus—for now. She pauses, glancing overhead to the patchwork of erratically moving starships visible in the artificial sky. Most of Absalom Station is still reeling from the attack. There’s currently no way to estimate the full extent of the infrastructure damage. It’s unclear whether Absalom Station was the sole target, or if this is one of many coordinated attacks across our system. As soon as I have more data, I’ll pass it on. Stand by for now.
Lexicor |
Lexicor considers asking about the sabotage robots but determines she would have given details if she had them.
”Rest would be appreciated. I am long since depleted of spells and a few injuries have not yet healed. “
is she offering a 10 min rest or overnight rest?
Rilynn Rae |
Rilynn approaches her faction leader and gives a positive nod. "We were tested, but we helped as many people as we could. But we're depleted, and in need of rest more than anything. Is there a possibility we can get a meal and shelter for the evening?"
phaeton_nz |
Of course - rest up ... as long as you need. But ... whatever this is, it isn't over. Be alert for more trouble.
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Was Cha'mon Cha'mon able to use Rilynn's medicine roll to apply the Treat Deadly Wounds action to himself?
phaeton_nz |
I presume so
We are basically at the end of the module by the way, but it ends on an uncertain note
phaeton_nz |
I'll get Chronicles out in a day or so - still curious about why Morvruul was in a hurry to get to the Lorespire

Heh, the truth is I don't really know for sure. He had some scheme cooked up that the Data Scourge put an end to. He has a beef with Celita--he fears that she knows about his unsavory spying and criminal activities--so perhaps he was planning some trick or scheme on her. I just wanted to give him a reason to keep wanting to get to the Lorespire Complex and to be repeated thwarted.

Chronicle looks good. Thanks for running, GM!
Thanks all for a fun game!
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
If Cha'mon Cha'mon is level 2 and we are playing tier 3-4 does he get out of tier credits or tier 3-4 credits?
phaeton_nz |
Out of tier credits
phaeton_nz |
According to the recruitment thread, Chamon is a level 3 PC so he gets high tier gold, but your profile header says 2. I'll issue a revised Chronicle
The adventure ends on an uncertain note. You battled your way across Absalom Station in time to join the collective defense of their organization’s headquarters, but pandemonium still reigns. The true nature of these attacks, and who or what’s behind them, is still a mystery.
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Thank you, he is level 2.
