Then perhaps some prying into his past, if there's anything he's sharing. Any strange mannerisms or mutterings or such?
Perhaps it could be worth to ask for some introductions as well? But maybe we'd like to have a few more levels of exp under our belt as to not get swept away in some criminal conspiracy :p

I think I'll start up again in a few days, give some more info on the Darklight. Oh and you get 100 xp for not only fulfilling Jalnio's requirements but also learning about Aram's day to day and an introduction to the organized part of Korvosa's underworld.

It feels more and more like Aram was some dirt farmer that stumbled upon a totally safe no consequences wish and wished for power/secrets/influence and didn't get much further then that!
... or perhaps that's what whomever is pulling the strings and secretly harvesting the secrets Aram collected would want us to think? Do we know of any even shadowier organizations lurking around that coincidentally didn't use the inn for anything :p?

But yeah, this situation is a way to gain Contacts that could result in Leads and then onto Quests. If you don't want to get mixed up in Underworld politics then you don't have to.

In terms of Leads you have going back to the University of Korvosa for more jobs to expedite the mundane research into the Boogie Critter, going to the Pantheon of Many for a religious look at it, continuing on the Aram's Crown lead, getting a device to suppress magical auras.
You could also followup with your various other contacts. Or something else. Let me know.
I'm thinking the Pantheon of the Many then, so we have gotten all the three major balls rolling. And see who offers the best sidequests :p
Perhaps it'd be prudent to try and get some more nuggets of information on the three shadowy cabals - just another source - so not everything we know of the underworld comes from the same dude?
Those are my two thoughts for the night.
Yeah, that is a good point about talking to the three two shadowy cabals and the guards Scarlet Rose :) Hedging against Jalno being up to no good is wise.

But if it is, what then? Is this the end? Should we try again with some module and open invitation?
It's been a fun ride. Wouldn't mind continuing it if we could but yeah it looks rough. I do worry a bit about Asta - but I do worry quite a bit in general :p
