Yeah, the Paizo forums are tricky because they don't play well with RSS, and are difficult to post on from mobile.
If you take a look at Fafrd's profile you can see everything is set up as a macro unto itself; this is what I do with my PCs too, and it allows me to post from mobile, etc.
However, that's a TON of work for just playing a pregen — probably too much. If unable to format rolls, you can also just post what you want to do in the Discussion tab or add botting instructions on Ezren's profile (e.g. "Ezren will usually try to ID creatures then electric arc or ray of frost").

That said, overall our pace is good so far. We completed everything in part one on the day it was supposed to finish. Couldn't ask for better timing :)
Glad to hear the move is getting there!

I am setting up the next combat now. Handwaving healing. You can refocus.

It's grabbing Siddhartha with a limb that has reach. In 1e the grabbing/grappling monster would automatically move its target to the nearest adjacent square, but not in 2e.
"The creature is grabbed by whichever body part the monster attacked with, and that body part can't be used to Strike creatures until the grab is ended." I believe Siddhartha can attack the part of the creature grabbing him and in the absence of any other rules that's how I plan on running this monster.
Let me know if you find something RAW here! I love learning new things.
Edit: Another experienced GM says you can't attack and need to escape. Let's go with the interpretation that helps the player for this combat, but I will try to research more and let you know if I change my mind.
I think I finally found support for my ruling here. under Size, Space, and Reach
Sometimes part of a creature extends beyond its space, such as if a giant octopus is grabbing you with its tentacles. In that case, the GM will usually allow attacking the extended portion, even if you can’t reach the main creature.
It's "usually" so table variation is possible. But it seems pretty clear to me how I will rule this is the future.
Just wanted to follow up :)

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the follow up, it's good to know there can be some table variation but generally leaning towards allowing attacks.

Doesn’t say so. So I say no!!
GM Doug H |
you have enough time to heal, not anyone even that hurt really.
Where to next?
FUTURE FOES
Planar anomalies! Skills + Combat
SHOBAD INVESTIGATORS
There's a fire up ahead. Social
Siddhartha the Wanderer |
Also good for anything, but agree Social might be interesting. Challenging for me, cause my social skills are limited.
GM Doug H |
1 vote for Future Foes and 2 for social. Will move us on in a bit. Hopefully we get them all anyway.
GM Doug H |
Don't forget you have +2 aid tokens to use.
You need 6 successes to avoid combat. If you get 6 failures they will consider you enemies, and fight you.
A definite possibility at DC 22.
You can try multiple checks. So if you're a sociable PC, go for it.

Assuming the terrain description is left over from the last encounter
Thanks, removed.
I also had some hitpoint errors in the statblock that should have been fixed, but will note here in case anyone caught them before I did.
GM Doug H |
Hero point to Maldlethu for the amazing NETHYS! flavor, healing hurt comrades, and sealing the deal on Shobad negotiations. Shogood.
GM Doug H |
Yep, moved Ezren. It wouldn't have blocked Line of Sight but I think it would provide standard cover (+2 to reflex saves) for at least one of the targets of the spell. So, best to move.

GM Doug, Just a word of warning, I'm playing back up GM for GM Blake and am having to read through part two of the scenario. Also a massive thank you for your GM slides (especially that nicely formatted slide for hunting down the scouts.) They are going to be very helpful.
GM Doug H |
Thanks for being a backup GM!
Maldlethu Tamerun |
Don’t worry (much) Fafrd - Maldlethu got the scroll out for a reason.
Fafrd the Grey Mouse |
Thanks.
These things are hitting hard, and I cannot hit them back laying on the ground!

As a free action Ezren uses Bespell Weapon on Fafrd's Hammer to give him an extra 1d6 electricity damage.
Clever idea! Unfortunately Bespell Weapon has a couple of constraints that prevent this from working.
Requirements Your most recent action was to cast a non-cantrip spell.
You siphon the residual energy from the last spell you cast into one weapon you're wielding. Until the end of your turn, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 damage of a type depending on the school of the spell you just cast.
Electric Arc is a cantrip so the requirement for Bespell Weapon isn't met. In addition, it must be cast upon a weapon you are wielding.
—
In terms of tactics, I personally think Ezren can bespell his own weapon after blasting with a fireball (or other spell). He can then throw the staff at an enemy using Hand of the Apprentice. (e.g. 2-action cast spell, free action bespell staff, one-action hurl staff in enemy's face with extra damage.)
GM Doug H |
I think we all know this, but we've completed this part.
We're just goofing off a bit till part 3 kicks off :p
You will have an overnight rest before part 3 starts.

Hey Pip, Stop snooping at other tables, we are dying there! ;)

@GM - I am ill and might not be able to post today and tomorrow.
GM Doug H |
Will bot as needed, feel better!
GM Doug H |
Please see Slide 2 for current conditions.
Only one of them matters now. (If I forget later on please don't hesitate to remind me!)
Supplies Discovered: Couriers dispatch the useful equipment discovered in the ruins to the Pathfinders. Each PC may select one consumable they’ve used this mission; they gain one additional consumable of the same kind and level.
If you used a consumable through Part 2, you can replace it. If you did not use a consumable, then you cannot replace anything and the boost does nothing for you. I know Maldlethu used a Heal scroll, but that might have been it.
GM Doug H |
Assuming we go back to the first attempt, before the Fort saves are required. Also assuming it was at least six minute, so his Aeon Stone could completely heal him.
That is correct. Sorry if my post wasn't clear.

Actually, I was typing my post before your post got to where I could see it, so I didn't see your post until after I had hit "Post" on mine.
I guess that is "Ninja'd?"

Hero point to Fafrd! For doing Fafrd things like double critting and leaning into entertaining crit failures on knowledge checks!

If no one has a strong preference I can run them in order. We will try to get as many as we can before the house moves on. Let me know here if that is what you want to do.

Sorry for the lack of posting over the weekend! Forgot I needed to post here for a few days and then didn't have the energy on Sunday.
GM Doug H |
Don't be sorry about Paizo's outage! Yesterday there was a brief login issue too, but clearing cache got me back in.
GM Doug H |
Just one seems fine. Ezren probably heas the hook tied to the rope already.
GM Doug H |
I will at least "yes and" that bridge! :p
Siddhartha the Wanderer |
I didn't think Ezren could cast two fireballs in one round? I thought Quickened Actions had to be Stride or Strike, not part of casting a spell?
GM Doug H |
Haste and other effects have their own specific limits, but not generic quickened.
Many effects that make you quickened specify the types of actions you can use with this additional action.
The scenario doesn’t note any such limitations. This is why our cleric was reveling in so much power back in round one when he cast bless and spiritual weapon, I think :)
GM Doug H |
Thank you!
Maldlethu Tamerun |
Request: Given what we recalled about the hounds (and the fact that we haven’t seen any yet), Maldlethu has a spell he’d like to take a minute to cast after this encounter. We’ve been flying from encounter to encounter overnight (for me), so I just wanted to ask ahead of time so we’re all on the same page. XD
