There is a collective mental moan from the cowering hoard of orocorans as they see you. Pushed beyond their limits they rush forward.
Mechanics wise, they are effectively a swarm for those of you familiar with PFS, although technically they count as a "troop" in Starfinder. This means that certain things affect them differently than normal. You may wish to familiarise yourself with troop defences.
You knew they were there, so no surprise.

If you rule that he can't target one of the horde, and they are the same creature as Dridapex, then he should be able to gather the same info by targeting (harmlessly) their guide. Though ID'ing creatures normally works on swarms, so I think it should work here too.

Jaq can target any one member of the hoarde to find out about them as a whole.
Jaq quickly realises that these orocran's have ichor in their stomach fluids and that a creature who came into contact with that might start to hallucinate. Over the years he has discovered a few other creatures with similar characteristics and they often have the ability to projectile vomit their stomach contents as an offensive measure. Lastly their visual cortex is highly advanced and simple invisibility spells will likely have to effect on them.
