Welcome to the ruins of Bonekeep. This is the first (and likely only in PBP) of a series of special events designed to test your character to its limits and beyond. The threat of character death is very real in this event, but the potential rewards are greater as a result. You will be able to, as a table, decide to leave the event at any time should it become too deadly for you, except when engaged in combat. If this is not the type of event for you, now is the time to back out.

I've received the special rules, which essentially limit the number of encounters that you may participate in during the game. No need for me to share the graphic details!

I'm getting quite nervous. I'm considering selling my +1 crossbow back (with a one-time boon that lets me sell back an item at 75%) since I have a returning starknife now and stock up on more scrolls.

I suspect (apart from encounter difficulty) that one of the reasons the scenarios have a high death rate is the sheer number. While you can back out at any stage, the urge to do "just one more" is high. And everyone is quite used to spreading their spells/hp etc over four encounters - and when you start to hit the fifth, and sixth and seventh...

This is likely less an issue for you as I have been given a hard limit on the number of encounters you may complete - to counter the difference between the normal five hour table limit and PBPs forty days.

I personally would have liked to receive a maximum number of rounds of combat instead of a limit of encounters.

Max number of rounds of combat is an awesome idea! Too bad they didn't think of that.

I GM'd this looong ago and the last 2 combats were brutal. The party were all people at a Con that didn't know each other so they didn't know how to coordinate tactics with each other. Also, half the players had pre-gens and had no idea how some of the pre-gen's abilities worked. I even went easy on a couple combats but it still ended up a TPK.

Hadanka is, so far, a pretty vanilla barbarian. Strong, hits hard, moderate AC, etc...

+1 cold iron scythe & comp long bow
Can switch to silver warhammer and shield if need blunt or silver
rage powers are intimidating glare and no escape
feats are dodge, mobility, and combat reflexes

Should probably be near the front, but no tank or scout am I.

Tere starts with 4235 gp, and is going to spend 3000 gp of that to get his cloak of resistance enhanced from +1 to +2.

Something weird is going on. Every single post I have made so far gets eaten/disappears. Luckily, I write all of my posts beforehand in a notepad app and just copy/paste. Sometimes the post shows up after closing the windows and opening the thread back up. I'll try restarting my phone to see if that helps.

I tend to reload the page after posting, and my post is normally there. I think the Paizo forums just take a slightly longer time to update than the browser refresh from your actual post. Earlier today I needed to do a refresh twice before my post turned up.

It has done this in the past. I'm currently in 3 other PbP games and it's not doing the same thing in those. Ugh. I'm just a bit annoyed. Maybe a redo of the shortcut link to this game might help.

Also, it's not important now, but my understanding from playing a zen archer monk with Deadly Aim is that when flurrying, for the purposes of Power Attack or Deadly Aim a monk's BAB is their level. So when Pau hits L8, his flurry PA will be at -3/+6, while his nonflurry unarmed attacks will still be at -2/+4.

Just as an FYI (and a couple of you already know this, because you were in the game), the last adventure Tere was on was Rebel's Ransom. If you're not familiar with it, it's also a dungeon crawl, also a dungeon supposedly abandoned for some time, and also (though this is metagaming) written by Jason Bulmahn. The party got through that one by dint of taking their time; carefully preparing for traps, puzzles, and monsters; and generally going slowly. Unless there's an in-game reason to hurry, Tere won't.

There is absolutely no in-character reason to hurry. At least at the moment. Queue evil GM cackle.

And Rebel's Ransom was pretty brutal. I don't know what the CR of the fights was, but we pretty much went into each one fully rested and with all powers available and they were still tough.

Mine was nowhere near that bad, although I've probably lost some papers. The office next to mine was soaked, though--it was their HVAC unit that had leaked, and the custodians vacuumed about 80 L of water out of the rug. The occupant hadn't been on site since the lockdown started. I think they'll be in tomorrow to check their stuff, though, and their desk and bookshelf are not salvageable. Particle board with plastic fake veneer over it does not hold up well to water.

An on a separate note, there is about to be a situation with multiple overlapping damage auras. My understanding is that they do effectively stack. Only rules reference I can find is here

As I mentioned in Gameplay, a PC can squeeze past others as long as their movement allows it (just can't end move in another's space). It's even in the rules that you linked.

Well, it was a CR9 encounter. You got them out of their room, if I was evil, I'd have left them in there with that other cold aura.
