Felix Domblevoster |

Having neither the Survival skill nor much strength...
Felix looks around for a way to aid his stronger companions to get the flaming barrel out the door.
Engineering Lore +5?

GM Catto |

::Round 3::
Seemingly committed to rolling this barrels down the street while it is on fire. The Goblin that isn't asleep looks at the damage gleefully before realizing his own was on fire.
Two things for this.
First, roll a DC15 Fortitude Check for anyone attempting to help push the on fire barrel.
Second, roll me a Diplomacy or Intimidation Check to get people to clear out of the way.

Evindyl |

FORT: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Move Barrel
DIPLO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Move people (pleasantly)
INTIMIDATE: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 Move people (less pleasantly)
Evin is still using his dampened icy shirt to move the barrel into position; he has also not suppressed his Halo as he begins to ask the crowd to move aside ...
He turns to Agatha and says, "Thank you! Nice work with the goblin too ..."

Felix Domblevoster |

Fortitude save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Uh-oh.
Intimidation: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
"Make a hole! Move! Move! City Watch! Move!"

Javor Durrandon |

Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Javor pushes the barrel forward. Giving an almost chuckle, he says, "My size ought to be good for something around here."
I'm going to use all my actions on pushing. I have an okayish diplomacy, but I feel like I'm going to be more useful doing this.

Evindyl |

With the Halo burning (also) and the glare of Intimidation, a lot of people should move aside ... is there like a large amount of cloth we could grab? Like rip the top off a tent or awning? If we could lay it out in front of the barrel was we rolled it, we could wrap it up and maybe finally smother it completely.

Dario Zuz |

Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Unable to keep up with pushing the barrel, Dario shouts at bystanders to clear the road and the area up ahead for safety's sake.

GM Catto |

Anyone that got less than a DC10 takes 3 Damage
As a team effort you manage to roll barrel down as quickly as you could, the sound of the content inside sloshing around in the burning barrel as you near the dock. Crowds fling themselves to the side as you make tour way through, enough of them getting the message to pull anything out of the way in a short time. The chaotic scene was a whirlwind of sudden cries and noise as the barrel would soon meet its destination.
While the flames stung the body, all those involved managed braved the flame before letting it roll out quickly on it's own off the dock, impacting the water with a splash. A few moments later as it slowly began to float away it blew into a fireball, he box exploding out as water even with its salt content mixed with now lit oil.
Somehow, you all managed to avoid any innocent getting hurt by it.
::Combat Over::

Evindyl |

Evin takes a look at his shirt, shakes his head, cleans it and puts some creases back in, and puts it back on before they return to their patrol ...
"Nice work, team, and thank you!"
"A minor disruption, and no one hurt! Should we have a chat with the goblins about "dispute resolution" in the future?"

Dario Zuz |

Dario growls through the pain as burning oil stings his palms and arms. The barrel finally rolls with the speed of a Calistrian caught in an Iomedean church before launching off of the dock and into the salt water ahead. With a breath, he watched it begin to float away for a moment before it exploded out in the water. There was a collective gasp from some onlookers before Dario sat back on his heels with a pained, if satisfied, smile.
"That...was some good work team. Good work indeed." He tentatively stood up, hissing at the burns on his arms. Moving to a nearby water pump to rinse it and stop the burning. "Most definitely. I'll give them a chat about the cultural norms here. Maybe they're recent transplants."

Agatha Wytchlight |

Public disturbance. Unsafe conditions. A fine is appropriate. Maybe a bane from selling. Perhaps a warning is better
Agatha looks at Javor
And no broken bones. Of course, the day is young.
Her monkey snickered from its pouch.

Evindyl |

"Come here my friend, let's make you whole again."
Evin casts Heal on Dario (even if the damage is superficial)
Javor Durrandon |

Javor gives Agatha a look, but only turns toward the conscious goblin and sighs, "Yes. A warning little ones. Someone could have really gotten hurt. Next time try arguing less. You'll probably get more customers while you're not screaming at eachother."

Felix Domblevoster |

Felix wonders how goblins manage to get any customers at all, but keeps his mouth shut.

GM Catto |

Fire crews quickly come to put out the rest of the fire that was still ongoing. Fortunately by sheer luck you all managed to stop anyone from seriously getting hurt or anything being badly damaged, save for the goblins stands now nothing but ash and cinders. A fireman, an Osiriani man that seemed to be head of the local fire company came forward, "Thank you all, I thin we have it from here though. What is left is just trash."
The goblins, now fined for their incident of terror and having lost their business opportunity to feed like minded goblins attending the fair grumbled and walked away with their tickets in hand. With the situation settled, you'd all continue on with your patrols.

Dario Zuz |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

The burns upon Dario's arms and hands were a bit more than superficial, despite the young man's protests to ignore it. Yet when the wave of magic ran over his skin and the red, blistered flesh cooled down to barely red marks, an audible sigh of relief escape his lips.
"Thank you Evin." Dario says softly, happy to let the others deal with the goblins as he tested his healed digits. The goblins were fined, their permits revoked, and it seemed that the worst of the situation blew up in the harbor. All in all, a promising start. (Despite all the damn rolls)
"Let us get back to it then friends. You all reacted admirably. I hope not to slow you all down." Dario says with a half-hearted chuckle. This work was rough, quite a bit rougher than what he was used to in the Foreign Quarter.

Felix Domblevoster |

As they continue their patrol, Felix does his best to look sharp and keep a sharp lookout. He wants the locals to trust in and feel some confidence in the new watch.

Javor Durrandon |

"Very good, our thanks to the fire brigade for taking care of this. We'd best be continuing our patrol. Be seeing you!" Javor says cheerily to the fire company head.
"Glad to see you're alright brother. He says to Dario with a tight smile as Evindyl mends his wounds. He gestures toward the healing occuring in front of him and says to the group, "Glad to see everybody working together so well. Good work Evin and Dario. Agatha. Felix. You as well. Good work on keeping casualties low." he says, looking at Agatha.
"Let's keep a move on." Javor motions to the patrol party, waving his free arm forward.
"Maybe we should find some lunch on the way as well." He adds, noting Evindyl's discomfort. "The day is moving along, and we don't want to be doing our duties poorly because of an empty stomach now do we?"

GM Catto |

AS you all gather yourselves, you proceed onward on your patrol, a little burnt and smelling of fast food. As you patrol the streets things grow a bit quieter as you hit a newer residential section, a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the large exhibitions and busy streets of the Radiant Festival. An air of calm before being broken by sounds of breaking glass and a woman shouting angrily.
Before you on your route an elven woman stands beating on a door, angrily protesting for whomever is inside to get out, "You there, guards. That boy has barricaded himself inside my shop!" she says angry and frustrated, "He is making a mess of my damned workshop,"
Slide 9

Felix Domblevoster |

Felix's mustache bristles. While listening to the woman and Agatha, he tries to peer into the shop.

Dario Zuz |

The smell of delicious food, the sight of expensive sights, and more eclipse even that of the beauties found in the Foreign Quarter. Children playing, barkers making their deals, and shows appearing on all sides. The chaos was strangely calming, the festivities bringing a smile to Dario's face. When the sound of glass breaking and shouting interrupted that paradoxical calmness, the guard moved in to examine things.
As Agatha and Felix listened to the woman and tried to get an idea of what was going on, Dario would signal that he would circle around for another way into the building. Carefully moving through the right, he would check the first window he came across to try and see if there was a quiet way inside of the place.

Javor Durrandon |

Javor acknowledges Dario and nods as the lighter man surreptitiously crept to the corner of the building and out of sight.
He then says loudly, "Knock, knock, who's in there?" As he knocks on the door waiting to hear if the boy could hear him. "Son, I don't want you to get in trouble, but if you're trespassing and destroying this woman's property there have got to be consequences. I want to make sure you come out intact though, but you've got to meet me halfway."

GM Catto |

Can anyone see in there? Are the shades actually drawn or not?
The whole view is visible. You can see plain as day in there.
"Who are you? Are you the police?! Please, arrest that vile woman, she taken my master, I am sure of it!" he says continuing to rummage through cabinets and drawers, spilling every content out upon the floor in a hurried move.
You notice as you knock the door appears to be partially barricaded as the elf responds, "Have you lost your mind foolish child. I don't even know who you are!"

Evindyl |

Evindyl casts Light directly above the kid
"Listen little guy: if you have a master, you know he wouldn't want this. He would want you to respect myself and the other mages who are part of the Guard, and discuss this issue without you or the shop being devastated by magical attacks. I am sure you know what I mean. Let's talk about this, please?"
Evin then casts prestidigitation to start cleaning and organizing the mess on the center tables, hoping the kid will notice ...

Felix Domblevoster |

Felix stands close beside Evindyl and waits to back him up.
GM, would a Recall Knowledge with Society help unravel who these people are? If so, Felix will cast Scholarly Recollection, and take the better of two Society rolls.

GM Catto |

Evindyl, please roll intimidation
You don't know them.

Dario Zuz |

Not finding an alternative way inside of the building, Dario quietly rejoins the others at the negotiation at the front of the building.

GM Catto |

"Fine fine, I'll come out officers, I'll stop!" he says properly intimidated by Evindyl. Soon after removing what was in front of the door, blocking it, a young man steps out, barely sixteen from the looks of it as he seems rather flustered, his voice cracking as he speaks "That wicked woman has stolen away my master to somewhere officers!"
"I did not!" the elven woman responds quickly.

Felix Domblevoster |

Felix believes one of the two must be lying and suspects it is the woman. He tries to read her body language for clues.
Sense Motive with a Perception of +3.
"Why don't you start at the beginning?" he says to the young man. "Tell us why you think she's taken your master."

Dario Zuz |

Much like the others, Dario quietly listened to the boy's story with a focused scrutiny. There was something going on here and it was up to them to unravel it.
I will also Sense Motive with a +5 for my Perception

Javor Durrandon |

Not wanting to crowd the boy and make him more nervous, Javor stands off to the side with Dario. He tries to shoo away rubbernecking onlookers with a "Nothing to see here, be about your business."
Javor whispers to Dario, "I think the gnome has this in hand. If he starts running we can cut him off... Do you think he'll run?"

GM Catto |

Felix: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Dario: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
"My masyter Kemeneles and I were both here for the festival. Said that we should split up to find a place to stay. We would meet in three days to see if we found anywhere to lodge," the young boy says, still distraught, "He never showed up, it's been two days and he didn't show up at the Heroes Fountain"

GM Catto |

"Master Kemeneles always said that she was no good, had a grudge against him," he says much to the elf's anger.
She quickly responds, "Kemeneles was a drunken lout, boy. I haven't seen him in years. You're lucky I have not struck you down for invading my home."

GM Catto |

"Three days ago at the docks when we got off the boat," he says looking increasingly upset, "I don't know where he could be anymore?"

Felix Domblevoster |

"And you haven't seen him in the last few days?" Felix asks the elven woman.
Returning to the young boy, he asks "Where was he headed when he got off the boat? Did he have any appointments? Was he traveling to any particular place?"

Evindyl |

Evindyl purses his lips and gives just a touch of side-eye to the Elven woman ... quietly he says,
"It's interesting that the drunken lout seems to have done a fair job mentoring the boy ... odd that the apprentice of "Drunk" Kemeneles was able to get the upper hand, in your own demense, and lock you out. Rough morning milady?"

Dario Zuz |

Dario leans in and whispers in the ear of Evindyl, his tone low enough that the elven woman wouldn't be able to hear him.
"I think she knows more than what she is letting on." Dario mutters, keeping a charming smile spread across his face. "Call it a hunch. Maybe there is something going on with his master and the woman."
Stepping over beside Felix, Dario crouches down onto the heels of his foot to put himself closer to the young boy's level. The smile on his face stays, though it grows more earnest.
"You're a brave lad, risking trouble to find your master. We're the best in Absalom so you can trust us, alright?"

GM Catto |

"Easy to do when I'm not even home. Speak to me in Taldane officer," she says rather frustrated, "I don't have time for this damn it. You got him out and he is lucky I don't press charges. Expect a complaint to your boss."
The boy stands looking rather happy.
