Hello, welcome!

I hope you enjoy the game! If you ahve any questions about what is happening behind the GM screen or things of that nature, feel free to ask, I'm hoping to make this a good learning experience for everyone. Also if you have advice for me, I'd be very glad to hear it. I've GMed on the boards for a while now but I'm not the most experienced.

As for check in's, there's a couple of things to do. First, I'm trying RPG Chronicles out to see how it works. Please add your chornicle sheet info here. If that doesn't work for you for some reason, please let me know and give me the general info below instead.

Second, I have a Google sheets for collecting secret check information. It takes a little time to fill out, but then makes up a set of dice macros on page 2. Really useful for the GM and players too, if you want to use it.

Finally, if you haven't already, make sure to add your character tokens and a little basic information to the slides linked up top.

btw, for the curious, Lokaloka means "crazy/insane" in Filipino. Her brother is "Lokoloko", which means the same thing, only the masculine version. I thought it'd be fun to create a goblin sibling pair -- at least they somewhat have a backstory... :)

As a member of the Spells school, her free item is a scroll of Soothe. She will also purchase a minor elixir of life.

I would normally roll some secret checks here, but I only have information for two people. For individual secret checks (recall knowledge, sneaking, etc.) I tend to let people roll behind spoilers. If it seems like people might be using it to metagame, I'll switch to rolling them myself. For group rolls where many people might want to attempt a check, I'll roll all together using the macros linked under my name and under the maps above.

There might be a slight delay in posting. Tomorrow is a holiday and I'm going to spend half the day doing some fishing... :)

Going catfishing -- basically catfish as long as your arm with a head that will cause bludgeoning damage should it connect at high speed :)

Slightly off-topic but GM-related. For a home/workplace game, what's the rule on rare backgrounds (or is it GM's choice on whether to allow it or not). I have a new player who chose the feral child background...

Yup, it's intended to be a sign that you talk to your GM about using it in game as it can be more powerful or disruptive.

How are treasure bundles handled at the end of an adventure? So if the party finds 4 treasure bundles at Lvl 1 (per Org Play guide is 1.4gp), each person gets 5.6gp?

Do we still get to use DM credit to replay things?

Yes but you'd have to have GMed ten+ tables to get one replay of the five total you can get across your GMing lifetime. I'd rather save mine for scenarios that fit the theme or background of a character really well.

Just wondering -- can the forums be used to non-PFS home games? As in, in case I need to move my office games here to the forum if we need to work from home again (COVID Delta Variant is causing a mess; we might be forced to go back to a WFH setting again).

Oh yeah PFS/SFS is only a moderate percentage of the games on here. There's plenty of other games that run here using the paizo rules and some that run on other systems as well.

I'll do Lions of Katapesh then -- looks relatively straightforward... My slides are kind of ready... :)

I picked a scenario that is newer aned hopefully one that no one has played.

Rules question -- I'm thinking of creating a Tengu ranger (when I get enough AcPs, of course). What will be my spell modifier if I get Ancestry feats like Storm's Lash (free Electric Arc)?

Inherent spells always use your charisma unless it specifies otherwise. I made a tengu witch who was going to take advantage of that but as she needs high int as well it didn't work as well as I hoped.

Your innates always get your best spellcasting skill, so you can be ok as a ranger, but yeah, they use Cha.

You can build for it with 14/16 Cha and you'll be ok against non-bosses.

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay. I thought my first day of vacation would be less crazy than it was. Now I'm actually expecting the crazy, so my posting over the next week might be a bit spotty, depending on how much time in the morning I have to post. Feel free to bot me if needed.

Don't feel bad. I spent the day getting my new desktop alld up and ready only to find that my old speaker system does not work and had a call into Staples support for about an hour or two because the wireless set up for my printer was giving me grief.

how does one create a gameplay thread? One of my office groups has to move online because one player was in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID... so we're moving to the Paizo forum... it's a non-PFS game...

Go to Play by Post and click on ADD NEW THREAD.

After you post a note, it will ask you if you want to make it a campaign. If you do, then you will get the familiar Campaign/Gameplay/Discussion structure. Then go to the Discussion tab and it will ask you for a discussion thread - scroll to the bottom and the last choice is Create new thread. Usually that's the one you want.

how do you get the Intro scenarios? I can't find them in the store.

What do you mean by intro? I usually search by season.

Pathfinder Society Intro. For S3 it's the year of shattered sanctuaries. I can't find the Intro for Seasons 1 and 2 in the store. For Season 3 it's marked as "Pathfinder Society Intro". Were they changed for Seasons 1 and 2?
