Did the first AoO interrupt Jaraduk's movement? Otherwise he would have made it around the corner and out of side.

Jaraduk, that may have been a Slides update issue. Your pawn was still visible from the hallway before. Glad to see you're safe and sound now.

The group finishes their tactical retreat, with the majority of the team in the vesk body littered monitoring room. Melissa, I moved you back. From there, you hear *STOMP* *STOMP* as you assume the robot moves out of the room. You can almost picture it's small head with that enormous eye swiveling back and forth. Another, faster, series of STOMPS follows - rapidly rising in volume - as the robot chases after your voices. It turns the corner moving like a freight train right for Akh.

Slam @ Akh: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34 That to hit bonus is nasty.
B Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

CRUNCH. The robot pulls its shiny fist back slowly, looking down at Akh's newly-dented, newly-unconscious body on the ground below. "TERMINATE" it says in a low voice, almost to itself. A shot pings as Guess's bullet ricochets off the thing's chest and the large red eye snaps back to attention. "TERMINATE."

In the middle of the room, Nemelith and Jinx stand frozen as they each hold up one of the two mind-drained prisoners. "Uh... we'll take the other door."

Back in the front room, Jaraduk is breathing a little easier despite his grievous wounds. But then, the nuar hears some heavy footsteps behind him. Turning, he sees Dizzy stumble into the storage room a few dozen yards back. "HEY! Come back here and face.... justice." The dragonkin draws a pistol with shaky hands, aiming it at his target like a drunk trying to put a key in a lock.

Del Caster Level Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Del pushes on the robot with her mind, but is repelled by the magic-resistant materials hidden somewhere within the creature. Surprise! Spell Resistance, and a pretty good one at that.. Strek and Guess? find more physical barriers in their way, with both blasts merely scoring the robot's outer shell. Del and Akh, whose connection to the universe continues to make him supernaturally durable, retreat further into the room, as the seemingly unstoppable robot continues to move forward.

You look over to the right and see the footage of the drones flying closer to the island. Time is running short. The other Wintermourn crew members calm Dizzy down, though he barely recognizes them as safe people. You all emerge from the examination room and the flying drones that monitor Calm 93 are continually broadcasting loud warnings. “All residents should return to their rooms And await instructions. Enforcement drones are on their way to restore order. Do not be alarmed.” The inmates of Calm 93 obey these instructions and return to their rooms. You pull up the picture of the map of the island that you took earlier, and see the names of your captured friends. It seems you have just a few minutes to get who you can and run to the ship before the cavalry arrives. Anybody still on Calm 93 when the enforcement drones arrive will become permanent (or, at the very least, long-term) inmates of the prison, regardless of their innocence. Because of this time pressure, the crew must move quickly to rescue the persons of interest or risk imprisonment yourselves. You each get to pick up to four persons of interest you want to save; you each can roll a DC 16 Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate skill check. On a success, that NPC realizes the danger and joins the jailbreak; on a failure, they remain unconvinced, but other PCs can attempt to sway them with subsequent rolls. The less Social of you can choose to aid with your rolls as well. Each PC can roll once per NPC. There's 6 NPC's, so split yourselves up wisely...

Given his social skill modifiers, I'm quite certain Jaraduk can't improve those results.

Guess? whispers to Akh and Jaraduk, "By the way, if anyone refuses to evac with us, then knock them out with a sucker punch, nonlethally, then we'll drag their bee-hinds back to the ship!"

With the ongoing confusion, I suspect it won't come to that.

------------

Jaraduk is mostly running ahead and parting crowds as his teammates look for their target evacuees. He perks up and makes a dubious, slightly disappointed expression when he hears a near-verbatim pitch re-used on their three goblin friends. He then wishes that was the worst of it when Guess? starts in.

Yatraxo will be doing the sit in within the cargo hold, shouting 'Down with capitalism!' then once the mind control wears off, he'll see the storm running minerals stored there then swing right into capitalist-inspired negotiations to buy the minerals far below fair market value! ;-)

You, and your 14 saved would-be prisoners, getaway just in the nick of time! Del pulls the ship into a sharp upward curve, knocking many of the additional passengers for whom there were not gravity chairs into the back of the cargo hold. You pierce the atmosphere and travel for an hour or two before descending back to the capital city of Rajadhan. During the flight, Lindol comes to and is delighted about the hoard of illegal minerals surrounding him. "You did it! Amazing! And you saved me!" The once fearful dromada seems emboldened by the rescue. "20 BP, you've certainly earned them! I'll run back to my office and get them straight away, coming back with some goons to carry the metals off with us." He fulfills his side of the deal, returning to the parked ship after a few hours.

By the time the metal is unloaded and you're paid, Yatraxo is waking up from her stupor. Not able to remember where to head off to, unlike some of the other nameless rescuees, she had stuck by the ship. As she returns to her old ways the gnome's eyes light up. "What an adventure! Thank you, thank you all. Forget about my finders fee on the minerals. I think my life is worth that, even if it was your crazy enemies who kidnapped me in the first place." You stay out at the hanger for a few days, waiting to see if you'll be pursued or brought to justice by the corrupt authorities.

You keep a close eye on the infosphere. It seems that investigating the newly revealed Hellfire Bunker takes much greater priority for the Marixah Republic than tracking down a few escaped inmates and you're in the clear. Over several days, those subjected to the mind siphon gradually recover, though the mental trauma they’ve suffered never goes away entirely; every once in awhile, each former inmate finds themself acting out the false identity inflicted by Renevaya and her machine. Runo Prat thanks you profusely, before getting on a transport back to his restful retirement home. The trio of goblins, mildly upset they didn't get to eat any exotic meats, are happy to get back into contact with the Skitterhaven Ranch. It seems Karm and Adani purchased one-way tickets for the goblins, eager to have their bubbly presence back on the farm. Captain Fireheart recovers a bit slower than the rest, but eventually comes to his senses. "Thank you, thank you! You've given me the proof we need to take down this cabal. I'm so sorry I didn't believe you sooner. I'm going to head back and start an internal investigation immediately. Using poison, these Talons have no honor! They go to far in the name of the empire." He heads back to the empire, assuring you that the BPs you've been promised will be paid as soon as the courts handle the mess.

Once Agavana receives word of the crew’s jailbreak, from wherever she's hiding in the Pact Worlds, she contacts the Last Chance to express her gratitude and hope. “Finally, with the Adamant Scale revealed, my name can be cleared. I am excited to return home, to my work. You have made that possible, and I owe you a great debt.” Unfortunately, Agavana’s dreams prove short-lived. Not long after the initial reporting on the break-in, Marixah Republic and Veskarium media blare one unified story: “Agavana Oathbreaker, The Butcher of Burandamana, operated a secret terror cell below Tranquility prison.” The news shows footage of the destroyed bunker beneath the prison and the remaining prisoners being carted off to other islands, mixed in with archived shots from the original Burandamana incident. It seems the evidence didn’t matter after all — the Adamant Scale remains.

But at the end of it all... you delivered your cargo, completed the job, and you've been paid. Just another day as a space trucker.

DING! Level up!
