Retired to SUMITHA

Hearing the quantity of Gems in the hold, Elek smiles, Telling Sandara as she's leaving. "Scratch that, we sail to Bloodcove. Hard and fast, let's unload this ship and leave it's Captain and crew high and dry."

Bloodcove is a relatively neutral port. You can buy and sell pretty much anything you can imagine - as long as you don't anger the Aspis Consortium that essentially runs the city. Fortunately, they generally turn a blind eye to anything that isn't directly concerning them.

Selling plunder will take four days. You can also try to increase your Infamy and/or recruit more crew during that time.

Retired to SUMITHA

As they enter the bay at Bloodcove Elek tells the crew, "Stow the sails and lower anchor. We'll park her here, and let everyone get a good look at the merchandise." He gestures towards the 'Revenge' "I'll send the ships boat over to pick you lot up." His eye falling on the chelaxian crew. "You all did fine work. We'll have four days of leave, where you can spend your share of the bounty. Be back at the dock at the end of the fourth so you can sleep off whatever you've gotten yourself into."

Once the Dowager Queen was at anchor, Elek tells the harpoon hand, " Dìmàn." He flies over to the "Banshee's Revenge" Landing beside Sandara and Ratline, he tells his first mate. "Ms Quinn, give the order to stow the sails and lower anchor." Smiling, he calls to his Master at Arms. "Mr Roger's bring up the Chelaxian crew and toss them overboard. Let them swim to the town, shoot any that head to the Dowager." He pauses, thinking then adds. Except for the Captain, keep her chained below decks, put a watch on her and rotate a three man guard on the 'Revenge' everyone else has a four day leave coming." Turning to Breaker, "Mr. Bones Sail the skiff over to the Dowager leave a three man guard but take the rest of those lubbers to Bloodcove, make sure they get an equal cut of the booty."

'That Chelaxian crew will spred our story well enough,' Pleased with himself as they toss the chelaxian sailors overboard, taunting and teasing the crew as they swim to toward Bloodcove. Satisfied that he had entertained his crew a little he turns to Ratline, "Mr Rattsberger, take us into port."

Once the 'Banshee's Revenge' is unloaded, as the goods are being traded by Bonnie and Ambrose, they sail 'her' back out to the bay. Making sure that the watch was set, Elek reminds the crew that it was a four day leave and to be back at the docks at the evening day four. Satisfied with the events, he made sure that each crewmember received their fare share of the take. Then he releases the crew, using the ships boats to row the crew ashore. Deciding to head to shore the 'normal way' he takes the the last trip on the ships boat with his officers. Heading straight to the largest tavern he could find, buying a round for his officers and bragging about their accomplishments. Then he starts asking around to see who may want to purchase a slightly used caravel.

At the end of the evening, Elek, flew back to the 'Banshee.' Before heading to his bunk he went below decks where he had the Chelaxian captain chained. "Your crew that didn't join me was tossed overboard, but all appeared to safely swim to town." He shrugs. "I'd hope that even a Thrune-loving captain would want to know about her crew."

Day one?
Waking reasonably early, Elek follows his morning routine but finds himself moving slowly enjoying the nearly empty ship. Eventually he flies back to Bloodcove, returning to the tavern from the night before he spends most of the day telling stories about their adventure.

Day one Rolling for infamy,
influence: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

Selling Plunder: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

Your sea stories are well-received. Cheliax isn't particularly liked in this area, so hearing that you captured the Dowager Queen and humiliated its crew makes you fairly popular. Selling your plunder isn't difficult, but you weren't expecting the Aspis Consortium to take quite so large a cut.

You gain 800gp and 1 Infamy/Disrepute today. Assuming you wish to continue, we can jump to Day Two.

Retired to SUMITHA

Wasting the magic to fly back the to the 'Revenge' to spend the night. Checking with the guards to make sure that there spending time off ship as well. He slept well in the magical hammock, rising early again flying back to town. Early in the day he looked for a vendor that sold silk sails, placing an order. Then spent time making sure the rest of the goods are sold. He spent most of the day, again spreading the tales about how he had taken the two ships.

As he began looking for a purchaser for the ship, he realized it may take longer than the four days he had told the crew. But he would let them know the evening of the fourth day. After spending the day bragging about his crew and ship. He took a little time asking around about a purchaser for the ship.

Day two for Infamy
influence: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24

Selling Plunder: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

You're able to get rid of most of the gems while looking for someone who sells silk sails. You also make contact with someone who can find a buyer for the Dowager Queen. It'll take him a few days, but the ship's as good as sold.

You gain 800gp and 1 Infamy/Disrepute.

Retired to SUMITHA

The morning of the third day, Elek checks on the Chelaxian Captain asking the guard if she is eating or not. Going above decks he again speaks with the crewmembers who are watching the ship. Taking the time he flies over to the Dowager Queen checking with the guards there as well.

Satisfied that all is as it should be he flies to the peer at Bloodcove, checking on the goods the have left to sell. Taking samples of the items to Free Trade Square, he starts showing the goods to potential merchants, bragging about how he and his crew came into their possession.

At the end of the day he found himself at 'The Pirate's Hook' Finding breaker there. Smiling at his friend he told him that he wanted to gift the barbarian with the pirate captains armor and sword for the good work he had been doing. After sharing a few drinks with the crew that was there Elek, albeit clumsily flew back to the 'Revenge' and stumbled his way to his cabin quickly falling into the hammock asleep.

Day three: infamy
influence: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18hhmmmm, looks like a hard no

Selling Plunder: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21

You get a good price for the rest of the gems. The silk sails should be ready tomorrow.

You gain 850gp.

Retired to SUMITHA

If I remeber the base cost of the ship was 10,000 gp. silk sales - 1,500 gp.

Waking up a little hung over, Elek slowly got around, eventually flying to the docks. Again working the shop keepers and bragging about his crew and ship. After a quick bit of lunch he proceeded to the 'sail shop' and paid for the silks. Quickly flying them to the ship and storing them safely. He then flew back to the city. where he returned to the tavern from the evening before, once again bragging about his ship and crew.

Before the evening was over he started asking some of the locals about the city itself, and having gotten a little bored began asking about any possible action around town. Once he had gathered a little information, he headed back to the docks.

As the crew started to arrive to return to the ship he told them they would be in port three more days. Knowing most of them had spent their last copper, he started passing out the last of the plunder so they would have a little gold in their pocket . After the last of the crew was given more gold, he flew to the ships and gave more to the guards there as well. Eventually finding his way to his bunk on the 'Revenge.'

since were in town three days more than he originally told the crew, I hope it's ok to pass out the "plunder" and count it as "spending plunder" it seems like a theatrical way to do it, and it gives the crew money for the next three days to keep them happy.
day four infamy, going to 'spend' the last plunder to add + 2 to the infamy roll. Second roll gather information, if it's not ok, just disregard
influence (infamy): 1d20 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 17 + 2 = 22 lol, well so much for a little help!

Selling Plunder: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

Your crew's made some new friends! Twin dwarven brothers have been enjoying free drinks from Roger and Bonnie for the last few days and have decided they want to sign on with you.

While selling the last of your plunder, you notice a group of Aspis Consortium agents who appear to be kidnapping one of the merchants - a middle-aged halfling woman.

You gain 850gp and two dwarven recruits.

Retired to SUMITHA

So are we still on day four or have we rolled to day 5?

Earlier
Seeing Roger and Bonnie hanging out and meeting new friends, Elek approaches the part of four. When he hears that the two sailors want to sign on, he nods approvingly. "I take it Roger and Bonnie have been telling all sorts of lies. Either way, a pleasure to meet you, I'm Captain Kardforgató." Falling into a little pirate slang, "What be you swabs name?"

A little later
Seeing the group of 'agents' manhandling the middle aged halfling, Elek approaches. "Pardon gentlemen, I hate to interrupt but isn't she a little small to be being manhandled?" He looks at the woman, then back toward the group. "I apologies for interrupting but She and I have a little business to discuss. Do you mind if we finish it before you drag her off?" He quickly looks around her shop trying to determine what sort of business she is in.

influence is to make request of the 'group' the perception/knowledge checks are to identify her business

We're still on day 4

"Ulfric Ironbeard, and this be me brother Rogar."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Piss off, ya ugly bloke! This is Aspis business."

Based on the sign, you can make a reasonable guess that the woman is Zeeva Foxglove, owner of the Green Market. The store sells a wide variety of items and is quite popular.

Retired to SUMITHA

At the 'Pirate's Hook'
Nodding at the two Dwarves, "Welcome to the crew, Ulfric and Rogar, Tell me a little about yourself, What are you good at, what would you like to be better at?" As they talk, Elek listens, taking stock of the two.

When there is a pause in the discussion, he looks at Bonnie and Roger. "Bring them with you to the docks tonight. There's been a slight change of plans. we won't be heading out for three more days. Don't give me that look, I'll be passing out more of the loot to keep everyone in Rum." He nods at the two dwarves. "Bring them along we'll see that their taken care of as well."

[i["Ugly?'[/i] Elek lifts the cursed harpoon hand, looking from them towards it. "Ugly? well maybe it is." Turning towards Zeeva, "Ugly? Tell me honest Zeeva do you think I'm ugly?" He looks back at the thug. "Now I don't want any trouble with the Aspis consortium, but an Insult cannot be tolerated." He rests his right hand on the handle of his estoc. "I demand you apologize or I must insist on satisfaction." He looks at the other thugs. "You fellows don't mind if we handle this like gentlemen do you?"

So how many of these guys are there? I assume demoralize is the same as intimidate?
Demoralize: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Ulfric and Rogar are quite muscular and enjoy strength-based grunt work. They can also take care of themselves in a fight - although they prefer to pummel their opponents into submission rather than taking up arms. Ulfric's also quite skilled at tattooing. (he's from the same campaign as the fey princess).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Demoralize is used to render opponents shaken. If I remember correctly, it synergizes well with the Gladiator sphere.

The two thugs look shaken but hold firm. "Look, buddy, we've got orders to 'escort' this one for a private chat with our bosses. There's two of us, and only one of you, so get outta the way before ya get hurt." The speaker puts a hand on the hilt of his greatsword. "Get the picture?"

Retired to SUMITHA

Nodding as the dwarves give an account, Elek gestures towards Ulfrics arms. "That's some nice work. The crew will love having an expert tattoo artist aboard." He nods towards Bonnie and Rodger, "These two have been with me since the beginning. Were an average size crew now, but I intend to bring on enough swabs to sail all night and take ships of any size. I'd like you two to be a part of that. I hope one of you can handle the helm. If not I'll teach you." He stands to leave the table, "You lads come with Bonnie and Rodger to the docks tonight and I'll put you on the payroll."
-------------------
Scowling, "And you can have her after her's and my business is over. But before then, you either apologize for calling me ugly or we duel. First touch or last man standing, I don't care. But I will not have my honor impugned by the likes of you two." Having already laid his hand on his estoc, when the idiot reached for the hilt of his greatsword, Elek whips his blade out taking the fighting stance 'Artful' taught him.

As you stare each other down, suddenly, the air fills with the sound of chanting, and inanimate objects in the market begin stirring to life!
Elek Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 8
You have a Move or Standard action.

Retired to SUMITHA

'What the blazes?' Hearing the chanting and seeing the ceramic pots to his right begin floating, and the coat rack display behind the two thugs, start moving it's 'arms' Elek steps back. Not sure what was happening he decides to force the thugs to make the first move. Lifting the cursed harpoon hand he tells it "Kuángcháo, Tiānjiā fǎshù diǎn." Waiting until the last moment to call on it's destructive power. readied action If either of the thugs charge, he gives the order.""Pòhuài lì." Thrusting the harpoon hand at the attacker.

really not sure what to do, so 5 ft step back, readied action, standard: attack + 2 Fey-forged Hook Hand (Charisma damage), Power attack, destructive blast, wild magic, spell point, crafted blast: piercing
attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 2 - 2 = 19 for damage: 1d4 + 2 + 4 + 4 + 4d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 4 + 4 + (5, 1, 4, 3) = 24 + 2 crafted blast
Does he stil use the spell point if the attack doesn't happen?

No. The spell point is spent when you attack, so if the triggering action never occurs, you keep the resource. XD

The thugs flee as pots, coat rack, and other sundries coalesce into a Large shambling mass that lumbers toward you (this takes its entire turn).

It looks something like THIS

Retired to SUMITHA

Lowering the cursed harpoon hand, it's black glow fading, Elek looks around for a familiar face or two. Sheathing his estoc he looks at Zeeva, gesturing towards the construct with the cursed prosthetic. "Your doing?"

Seeing the woman shake her head no. He reaches for her hand with his, as he calls the name of the wind. "Fēng." Using his wind lord ability to place the updraft of the storm under the creature trying to blow away it's pieces parts.

Zeeva shakes her head frantically. "I've never seen anything like that before!"

As the thing reaches you, it raises its arms to crush you!

You mentioned you're considering changing your action, so just let me know.

Retired to SUMITHA

"Blast!" Realizing the wind had no effect on the creature and all he had done was keep Zeeva from getting to him, Elek turns to the woman and tells her "Run!" Turning towards the construct he tells the cursed prosthetic, "Chéngwéi dàpào." As the brass and pewter arm cannon manifest he commands it, "Dìmàn." As he feels the mantle come upon him, he looks up at the large creature, "Come on you ugly pile of junk, come and get me." Attempting to tumble out of the things reach, he takes to the air.

Standard: Mantle, Move action: Acrobatics/fly away from it, not sure if that's right, so if not do the best we can with it, if I understand right, with out concentrating on the wind it drops a level, yes?
acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
fly (Just in case?): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

That's correct: the wind will gradually decrease until it reaches its original level.

The junk pile swipes ineffectually at you as you fly up and away. You're not able to travel very far, but you can probably stay out of reach for quite a while. If nothing else, you can definitely let it chase you into a less-populated area.

Retired to SUMITHA

Knowing he wasn't going to be able to focus on flying and fighting, Elek tells the cursed cannon "Tiānjiā fǎshù diǎn." using some of the cannon's magic to keep the wind blowing without him concentrating.

Hovering above and in front of the construct well out of its reach. Elek tries to keep the things attention on him "Hey trash man!" As he points the cannon at the thing telling the cursed prosthetic "Cì chuān, shèjí" he watches as the dark wake follows the shot at the construct.

After the cannon fires, Elek looks for the shortest direction to guide the thing to get it away from the crowd and out of the city.

Standard: used spell point to keep wind active for 2 min. Hover: fly speed 40 ft. maneuverability: Poor - 4, Attack: + 2 shadow wake cannon, point blank shot, focused blast, deadly aim. rapid shot, crafted blast: piercing
fly: hover: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 12 - 4 = 15
attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 2 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 21 for damage: 2d6 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (5, 1) + 2 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 15 + non-lethal: 1d6 ⇒ 4 + 2 crafted blast
attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 2 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 18 for damage: 2d6 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 13 + non-lethal: 1d6 ⇒ 2 + 2 crafted blast

You let the construct chase you away from the market until you find a field outside the city. You won't need to worry about collateral damage here, but you also won't have any cover if you're drift into reach.

Construct: 22pts damage

It doesn't have any ranged capabilities, so as long as you keep passing the check to hover, you're in no danger. Based on the damage you've dealt so far, I figure two more rounds should do it.

Retired to SUMITHA

Relieved to that he was able to draw the monster out of town, Elek focused on staying high enough to fire his cursed cannon at the thing, while staying close enough to be able to keep it in range.

Pointing the the brass and pewter arm cannon at the thing he told it "Cì chuān, shèjí". Rolling his eyes as the first round of shots go wide. He exhales looking down at the thing. "Well at least you good target practice. Cì chuān, shèjí" Firing the cannon again, it looked like at least one of the shots hit. Telling the cursed cannon again "Cì chuān, shèjí" the third collection of shots appeared that both may have hit.

He couldn't tell if the thing was still able to move or not. So exhaling, he feels the hover slipping, so he flies to the left in a slow arch telling the cannon. "Cì chuān, shèjí" a fourth time, letting the single shot fly.

Shooting something that can't fight back is about as challenging as fighting a training dummy, but it's also extremely safe. By the time you've finished your barrage of shots, all that's left is a pile of junk.

Retired to SUMITHA

Looking down at the pile of garbage that was once again just a pile of garbage, "That's the kind of fight I like. They stand their looking stupid at you, while you kill 'em." Turning the cannon over looking at it. "Not bad target practice either."

Flying back to where he had left the merchant halfling, he lands near her business, the Green Market. Entering the business, he finds the merchant. "I'm Elek Kardforgató Captain of the 'Banshee's Revenge.' I apologize for interrupting your conversation with the Aspis boys. But I hate a bully and don't care much for being called ugly either. would you like to tell me what that was all about?"

influence: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

"Oh, my goodness, thank you so much for saving me! Those thugs want to buy my shop. It's been in my family for generations, and I don't want to sell."

Retired to SUMITHA

He smiles and nods, "Your welcome." Watching the halfling as she speaks. 'So thugs, and then the garbage construct.' Scratching his head with his right hand. He rambles. "The thugs I get, the garbage monster I don't." He quickly looks around the shop to see if there was anything that stood out. " Do you know who in the consortium they answered to directly, or why they wanted to buy you out or if they've purchased anyone else out in the area?" He pauses for a moment; "Is there anything about the garbage man you can tell me or if there is someone in the area who might be able to make and place a construct here?"

-----------------------------------
When Elek is finished speaking to her, he commands the cannon to return to the less odd harpoon hand then begins to canvas the neighborhood, looking for information about the garbage construct.
gather information: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21 hmmm back to those kinds of rolls
hours spent: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Zeeva looks rather shaken. "As strange as this is going to sound, I think that came from the shop, itself. My family's been claiming it's blessed for generations. I've always made a profit, no matter how slow business gets. Always thought it was just a marketing thing, but now I'm not sure. That monster didn't show up until weapons were drawn, after all."

During your canvassing, you have an odd conversation with an aged gnome who swears the construct was talking. "Said he was created by 'Galdron.'" This is news to you as the construct didn't even appear to have a mouth. However, Giffer explains that skilled artisans can encode messages in the construction process of an item. The creak of wood, the click of a gear, the drip of oil, each has a particular sound that can be 'read' by those in the know.

In other words, the secret language mentioned in the Tinker background on my website. XD

Retired to SUMITHA

'The shop is blessed? Maybe that's why the consortium wants it." Raising an eyebrow at Zeeva's observation, Elek, wonders if any of his crew had ever heard of such a thing. Nodding telling the shop keeper, "we'll need to look into it more. I'm going to speak to some of my crew and hopefully we can sort out about the construct and what to do about the consortium."
-----------------------------
'Galdron?' After speaking with the old gnome, Elek thanks him for his time and determines to find Giffer. Elek tracks Giffer down at one of the watering-holes the crew was hanging out at, he told Giffer of the thugs, the construct, the battle, his conversation with Zeeva and the conversation with the old man. After Giffer tells him about the 'secret language' Elek nods, "So have you ever heard of a halfling named Galdron?" shaking his head in frustration. "We need to sort this out, come with me." Elek leads Giffer to where he left the body of the construct, Asking "Do we need to collect the remains and take them back to the shop?"
--------------------------
Once back at the shop Elek introduces Giffer to Zeeva, then asks the merchant. "Do you know of anyone named Galdron?"

If need be he will get a hand cart or something to return the parts to the shop.

Giffer shakes her head. "Don't know any Galdrons. Probably some local fella." Looking over the construct (which collapsed back into junk when defeated), there isn't much that's salvageable aside from a fancy-looking flask.

Bottomless Flask (retail price: 1,000gp)
This ornate and surprisingly weighty hip flask appears to be made out of silver, and its stopper is decorated with five small gems of different colors. It does not appear to be able to hold more than a pint, but the flask can open into five separate extradimensional spaces, each of which can hold up to 20 gallons. These spaces do not mix or overlap, so the contents are kept separate and uncontaminated; in addition, they can safely store volatile substances such as acid or alchemist’s fire. The different spaces can be accessed by twisting the stopper so that a different gem faces the front of the flask, which can be done as a swift action. The flask can pour out a maximum of one pint per round (or a single flask of an alchemical substance) into a square within the wielder’s reach. If broken, the flask is ruined and all contents are lost in extradimensional space.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zeeva Knowledge (history): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
"Galdron? He's ancient history - literally. A few centuries ago, there was a Ghol-Ghan shaman by that name. He was devoted to peace and unity. His tribe was purely pacifistic, in fact. I think this market was built on top of his shrine, but I'm not certain."

Retired to SUMITHA

Nodding in agreement with Giffer, "Proobably, let's go speak with the shop owner." Collecting the Flast, he tucks it in his pocket. "We'll figure out what to do with this later."
---------------------------
'No wonder the consortium wants the property, they figure they can access his Cairn from here.' Back at the shop when Elek hears that Galdron was Shaman buried here. He turned to Giffer and asks. "Giffer do you have any way to detect magic?"

I don't think she does but it doesn't hurt to ask
Looking to Zeeva he asks, "Do you mind if I check out the shop? Is there a basement?" Turning to Giffer he asks, "Giffer would you mind finding Sandara and telling her to meet me here?" Thinking for a moment about possible traps, he adds. "And Syl too, Oh if you can't find her look for Bonnie, she may be able to help instead."

Elek will search the shop for some kind of hidden entrance, if there is a basement he will start there. You good with him taking 20 (28)?

You end up needing to rip up some floorboards and dig down almost five feet before you find anything. What you find, though, is a nine-foot-tall skeleton with a single, massive eye socket. Sandara grimaces, "His spirit is angry - furious, even. We need to calm him."
Knowledge (civilization): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Based on what you know about cyclops civilization, they revere fate, destiny, and the celestial bodies. Perhaps some sort of symbolic offering would do the trick.

You have Giffer, Sandara, and Syl with you.

Retired to SUMITHA

Prying away the floor boards with his cursed harpoon hand, Elek finds cause to start digging. Not making great headway with his limited capacity he's relived when his crew shows up. Smiling at Zeeva, he asks, "Can we borrow a shovel?"
--------------------
As Sandara explain that the shamans spirit is furious, Elek frowns, "Can you tell us why he's upset?" He ponders aloud, "What sort of offering would satisfy him? I know the cyclops as a society revered fate, destiny and the celestial bodies." He looks at the others. "Any ideas?" Then looking at Syl, "And no blood sacrifices."

Thinking for a moment, he tells them "I have an idea. I'm going to fly to the 'Revenge' and get my star charts, I'll be back." he gestures around the skeleton, "Dig a little room so we can leave few things here."

Flying back to the ship, Elek gathered the expensive star charts they used to sail by. Then as a second thought grabbed a map of the sea near the 'shackles' as well. On the map he circled shackles and wrote 'My Destiny. Collecting the charts and maps, he flew back to the shop. "These are my star charts, and the best map I have of the Shackles, my destiny. We'll put them with him in the Cairn." He looks at his crew, "Any other ideas?"

Shaking his head, "I'm still curious as to why the Consortium wanted the property."

Not sure what the replacement cost on the charts will be, I'm figuring a couple hundred gold.

Surprisingly, it's Syl's theory that's the most plausible. "Greed, probably. The halfling said she always turns a profit, and that her shop's good luck. Doesn't every corporation want to make as much gold as possible?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't cross the maps and charts off your sheet just yet....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
As you finish laying the charts and maps on the body, you suddenly feel dizzy. The world around you melts away. You find yourself in a small clearing of sparse trees. Before a pool of clear water stands a solitary table of stone. To the east is a simple camp with a smoldering campfire and a large tent made from animal skins and wooden poles. Superimposed over the idyllic landscape is a gray, ghostly image of Zeeva's shop - its wares seemingly untouched from earlier. The image fades to mist approximately 60ft away, revealing a great battle being fought farther in the distance on all sides.

Giffer, Sandara, and Syl stand near you, looking just as surprised as you probably do.

Retired to SUMITHA

Confused about the image that fades to mist approximately 60 ft away and the nature of the battle, but I don't think knowing more would change my actions.

Nodding in agreement with Giffer, Elek turns to say something, just as everything shifts. "What the blazes?" Seeing the surprised looks on his crews face, Elek remembers what his father always said about Captains needing to appear calm even in the worst situations. He smiles, "Well I thought the Shaman was interesting, but I didn't think we'd get to visit him." Gesturing towards the battle, "We'll need to be able to get away from that. I will put my mantle on each of us so we can fly out if we need to."

Gesturing towards each of the crew members and lastly himself, he speaks the command word, "Dìmàn. four times. He then points towards the tent, "I believe we should head that direction, see if someone can tell us what's going on."

in case you need a bluff for the 'calm'
influence: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19 Typical
So the civilization roll is to identify the tent type, I"m assuming it's sized for a giant. The martial roll is for any information on the battle you can give me.
knowledge (civilization): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
knowledge (martial): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
yeah, those are better

Essentially, you've been transported to the Ethereal Plane, so you're seeing a weird mixture of the area in and around Zeeva's shop in several time periods simultaneously.

The tent is quite large and appears in a style popular several hundred years ago. The battle, meanwhile, features Chelish soldiers, Aspis agents, and cyclopes.

Before you can travel far from where you began, a ghostly cyclops emerges from the tent and speaks to you in a booming voice that resonates strangely. "I was never a pacifist. My belief was merely that the way forward for my people was unity. The gods divided us in the time before memory, but the world has moved on. Every tribe could maintain its honor but without the need to divide the people against itself." A corona of fire suddenly sheaths his head, and molten gold drips from where a spearhead and shaft protrude from his chest, revealing the wound that took his life. "I was such a fool." Behind him, a trio of ghostly flame elementals erupt into life.

HERE'S the closest approximation I can find.

Retired to SUMITHA

Moving forward to within range of the flame elementals, Elek raises he cursed arm cannon, pointing it at the nearest elemental. He speaks the command "shèjí", turning back to the kingly cyclops, he asks, "What can we do to bring you peace?"

move action: up to 30 ft, but just in range of the elementals for the cannon. Attack: + 2 shadow wake cannon, point blank shot, focused blast, deadly aim. crafted blast: piercing

Your blast narrowly misses the elemental. Your companions rush to engage it and the others, while you try communicating with the cyclops - probably Galdron. "Peace is a lie; there is only passion!" He summons a mass of green flame and hurls it at you!
Fire Damage: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 5, 5, 2) = 22 (Reflex DC 18 halves)

So if he was 60 ft away, a 30 ft move last round, will permit a 30 ft move this round and elek can get to him, but I don't think I'm close enought to use acrobatics to avoid AOO and still get there.
reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Attempting to dodge the fireball, Elek growls, "Really, you think we're the enemy Here? I'd rather be fighting the Chelaxians" Leaving the elementals to his companions, he tells the cursed cannon, "huí dào yú chā shǒu." As he moves he draws the Estoc, Feinting he thrusts the cursed harpoon hand towards the things shoulder, then slashes down towards its side. At the same time thrusting his estoc at the cyclops' rear leg.

I don't think the feint worked but if it did please add Bewildered: The target becomes bewildered, taking a –2 penalty to AC. The target takes an additional –2 penalty to AC against all attacks made by the rogue. to the attack

Nat1 means the feint doesn't work regardless. Doesn't evasion reduce the damage from his attack?
Your cursed weapons successfully damage the ghost cyclops, but now that you're within reach, it's easier for him to drain your life with a touch.

"Blast!" Feeling the things cold touch, Elek realizes he must end this quickly or chance tactics. Jerking the cursed harpoon hand loose, he resets into the stance Roger taught him. He feints again, thrusting at the creatures thigh then slashing for it's groin, while thrusting the estoc at it's shoulder.

This time, your feint is successful. Galdron appears bewildered by your quick moves and is having difficulty tracking both of your weapons. That doesn't stop him from continuing to attack, though.

The shaman is definitely on his last legs, as his clumsy attack doesn't even come close to striking you.

One more solid hit should do it. XD

Retired to SUMITHA

Feeling his blades bite deep, Elek jerks them loose and returns to his fighting stance. Ducking the shamans swipe, he tells the cyclops. "You should have talked to me instead. Hopefully dying a second time around isn't as bad as the first." Feinting he steps, feinting a lunge with the cursed harpoon hand, then slashing at the cyclops' knee, while the thrusts the estoc to it's midriff, just below the death wound.

As your blade pierces the shaman's midriff, the elemental spirits your crewmates were fighting fade away. Proud tears roll down the cyclops' face as he exclaims, "In returning to my original self, I forgot who I had later become, and why I was right to do so. It is not weapons or armor which prevent peace, but succumbing to wrath. I see this now. I will no longer protect the halfling's shop, as others must find their own unity, unmotivated by fear." The spirit gives you a salute, and then melds with the stone table. All that remains is a red gemstone that glimmers with an inner flame.

About a minute later, the scene begins to waver, and the four of you return to Zeeva's shop on the Material Plane.

If you take the gemstone, you'll find it to be an elemental gem (fire).

Retired to SUMITHA

'Not weapons or armor but succumbing to wrath, The chelaxians took my parents and burned my ship. Some wrath is justified.' Seeing the cyclops tear up, Elek considers his own wrath as he brings the estoc to his forehead as a return salute. Watching the spirit fade away he turns to the others, "I hope the old boy finds peace." Looking back to his crew as he sheathes the estoc. "Unity was his goal, not mine." Reaching down and picking up the red gemstone of of the stone table, Elek slips it into his pocket. Seeing the battle raging he tells the cursed harpoon hand, "Chéngwéi dàpào." so he had a ranged weapon ready, realizing as he does so, that they are returning to the material plane.

Once again standing in the halflings shop, he turns to Zeeva, "The old boys finally at peace, but his spirit is no longer going to interfere with this world." He looks around at the mess they made with the floorboards and the dirt. "Or your shop in particular." He gestures towards the mess. "I guess the least we can do is help you clean it back up."

Fetching the charts and maps from the cairn, he gestures to the ladies. "Let's help her get things shipshape again, before we leave." Turning to Zeeva he asks, "Do you think the consortium will be any more trouble?"

"If my shop's no longer blessed, I don't see any reason for them to still want it." Zeeva seems to have mixed emotions about the whole thing. It will be nice to not need to worry about the consortium any more, but the unknown ghostly aid had greatly helped her family for generations.

Retired to SUMITHA

'It it's not blessed, maybe not. Pausing for a moment, Elek smiles. "Or you can sell it to them, letting them think it is and sink the profits else where." He shrugs, "Either way, since I helped cause this mess, if there is something I can do to help you let me know."
----------------------------------
As they walk away from Zeeva's shop, Elek turns to his three pirates, "Any of you have an opinion about the battle between the Chelish soldiers, Aspis agents, and cyclopes that we saw off in the distance?"
-----------------------------------
At the end of the fourth day, after all that happened at Zeeva's shop, then paying the crew more and telling them to be ready to sail at the end of a week, Elek is tired. Flying back to the ship, he falls into his bunk and is quickly asleep.

Waking the morning of the fifth day, he takes the Whale skull covered in scrimshaw to the Free Trade Square trying to sell it to the highest bidder. Then working his way from the square back to the tavern the Pirate's Hook, he spreads the word about his ship, the Banshee's Revenge and the ships they plundered.

day five: Infamy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36

Sandara shrugs. "Probably something to do with the Plane itself. Time was weird there, so my guess is a manifestation of violence throughout history in the area."

Knowledge (history) would have given some background information.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You're able to sell the whale skull for 950gp to a craftsman. While he doesn't know any magic, he hopes to be able to duplicate the designs and resell them to a ship's mage for a profit. Whether or not duplicated designs retain their magic remains to be seen, but that isn't really your problem.

As it turns out, fighting a magic junk construct that appeared in the middle of the market is a good way to gain renown. Unfortunately, defying the consortium is a good way to gain their notice. You'll need to watch your back while you stay here.

If my math is correct, you've now maxed out your Bloodcove Infamy for the time-being.
