"Aye Captain." Turning he smiles to himself, 'It was worth a shot." He heads straight for his friend Breaker, who was assisting in tearing up the deck. "Hey Breaker, Plugg told me to pick a couple of crew members to run an errand to the Island. Why don't you grab your gear and meet me a the Cutter, we have to load a couple of water barrels and get underway."
'Well, since Crimson is religious like Sandara said, maybe he can help us with divine inspiration.' Moving to where Cogward was carrying the boards below decks. "Hey Crimson, Plugg told me to pick a couple of crew members to run an errand to the Island. Go ahead and grab what gear you may need and meet me at the Cutter. After we load a couple of water barrels, we'll ship off."
Going below decks, he tucks all his possession in his rucksack, then grabs the boarding pike, 'Just in case.' Moving to the galley, He gathers enough food for the three of them for two days, Telling Kroop, "Going to be gone for about a day and a half. Plugg's sending me for water. He unconsciously touches the clerics holy symbol that he had placed around his neck. "Figure I'll look for Sandara and Bonnie while I'm there. ' As he leaves the Galley, "If were not back before Plugg plans to leave, try and talk him into staying. But don't pick a fight on my account." Nodding to his friend, he heads to the Cutter.
While headed to the Cutter, Elek looks towards the sun. Thinking about what time of day it is and when the tide would be coming in and going out, calculating how close to thirty six hours Plugg would actually be able to set sail. Approaching the Cutter he was pleased to see that Breaker and Crimson had loaded the water barrels already. Nodding approvingly, "Good job, I swung by the galley and picked up provisions. Let's get this under sail."
Watching as Breaker and Cutter used the pulley system to lower the boat. Elek followed them down the cargo netting onto the Cutter. Taking his spot at the rudder as Crimson and Breaker man the oars. Once they got out away from 'The Man's Promise' he had them loose the Cutter's single sail, and turned the small vessel towards the island.
Would a 'sailor' check give info about the timing of the tides?, if not apply whatever knowledge check would be best. First roll, info about tides, second roll handling the cutter

Based on the timing of the tides and Plugg's estimate regarding repair time, you should have approximately 48 hours until Plugg is able to set sail. Navigating the cutter is a simple affair - especially with two muscular men at the oars.
The going is slow, though, as the island is surrounded by coral reefs, and the currents are rough here. Fortunately, the water is almost crystal clear, so you're to spot dangerous areas far in advance. From what you can see as you approach, much of the island is covered in thick jungle. A rocky cliff towers approximately 500 feet high to the northwest. Finding a place to land the cutter is difficult, but you're able to eventually find two potential spots.
Here's a map for reference. The Man's Promise is at the top. Landing sites are the southeast beach or the north side of the island near the path.
Elek Kardforgató
Not wanting to stay in view of 'The Man's Promise' Elek guided the Cutter around the north-eastern tip of the island towards the beach. Pointing out the small river draining into the ocean Elek tells his companions, "We should be able to get water from that creek. So we will beach the Cutter as close to it as possible." He points the cutter towards the northern part of the south-eastern beach. "But before we load up the water and return to 'The Man's Promise' We're going to search the Island for Sandara and Bonnie." He looks at the other two to see if they have any questions.
As they get into shallow water and Breaker and Cutter row the boat near the shore Elek jump out of the Cutter and pulls the boat onto the beach. Once it fairly secure he waits until Breaker and Cutter help him pull it up all the way onto the beach so the tide will not draw it away. Pulling his pack out of the small boat he secures it high on his shoulder. Looking over his crewmates, he assesses their gear, then offers the Boarding Pike of Repelling to Cutter, "This is too big for me to use and Breaker has his axe. If you'd like to use it you may."
He then takes a good look around the beach. "Let's keep a keen eye out." Asking the others, "Do either of you know anything about tracking?"

Breaker has his axe, and Crimson has a cutlass. They also have a smattering of mundane gear that might be useful. Rope, lanterns, etc. Neither has any tracking skill, unfortunately. They're both melee combat types - Barbarian and Fighter, respectively.
Crimson shakes his head at your offer. "Thanks, but I prefer to fight close in. Makes it more personal."

Towering palm trees stretch along the white sand beach for a mile or so, each around 50 feet high and crowned with a wide canopy of palms brimming with coconuts. Shattered coconuts litter the beach beneath three of the trees.
You've beached the boat about one-and-a-quarter miles from that stream you saw as you came in. You also see what looks like fields of crops around a mile in the opposite direction.
Elek Kardforgató
Nodding, Elek tosses the boarding pike back in the boat. 'We'll need to come back this way. To head to the water.' Taking off his pack he drops it in the boat as well. Seeing the field of crops just a little ways in the distance, Elek gestures towards them. "Crops mean locals. Let's go ask them if they've seen anyone new, or if they know where the sea-goblins hold up."
Telling the prosthetic "Chéngwéi dàpào." as it forms into the cannon, he draws his blade in the other hand. He then begins walking towards the the field, trying to keep an eye out for anything strange.

It takes the three of you approximately 90 minutes to reach the top of the cliff. There, a well-built timber stockade surrounds a small lodge in a jungle clearing. Vines wrap and strangle a great tree that rises next to the lodge, blocking light from above. Beside it is a bubbling spring.
The stockade walls are seven feet high, but the gate is ajar. You notice a weathered spyglass fixed atop the wall, and it appears to have been deliberately mounted in a specific position.

Instead of finding a single cabin as he first suspected, Elek finds himself at the gate of a small stockade. Pausing for a moment under the great trees branches, looking up into the branches of the giant tree. 'I wonder the size of the tree when they built the stockade.'
After observing the giant tree, he gestures inside. "Keep a keen eye out, I doubt were alone." Moving slowly inside the stockade, "First we make sure the stockade and building are clear, then we check the spyglass." He heads towards the lodge, telling his harpoon hand. The door to the stockade lodge is ajar. Inside is a single chamber, crowded with a large amount of furniture, including a comfortable-looking bed, a small writing desk, cooking gear, and several barrels of rotting food. The stench of rot is overpowering, and flies swarm around the room - particularly around the hooded corpse hanging from a chain off a beam in the middle of the room. A stool lies on the floor nearby where it was kicked.

'Not many suicides bother with a hood.' Sheathing his sword long enough to cover his face with his mothers handkerchief, he draws his sword again. Pointing to the corpse, "I'd guess someone didn't like him." Turning to Crimson and Breaker, "Lets see if we can find anything of value, then check the spyglass." He quickly moves around the room checking the desk, under the mattress and in the cooking pots. Hoping to find a potion or two that may help them.
Eventually, moving near the corpse, readjusting the bandana on his face, he sheaths the sword again, and looks for pockets on the corpse. "I'd rather not touch the dead lubber, but if it has anything." he shrugs, as he touches the corpse with his cursed harpoon hand.

Pointing at the leather armor, he asks "Do either of you want to use or carry the armor? Or the spears?"
Avoiding the undead's grasp, he jerks his cursed harpoon hand away from it. Moving towards the door, he nods his head. "If you gentlemen will step over here, I'll blast that thing so it's no threat to anyone." He smiles wickedly under the bandana. 'A protected cove, Coral from the sea, cliffs from the island. A good place to hide.' As he looks at the deep cove and the cliffs edge, 'I wonder if this place has a name.' Asking, "Hey Breaker can I have the spyglass?" As he takes the spyglass, he gestures towards Crimson's and Breaker's packs, "You two get those ropes out of your packs and start tying knots about every two foot. Getting down won't be the problem." Smiling. "Even for us sailors, getting back up might be, knotted ropes will help."

Taking out one of the spears they had found, telling the cannon "huí dào yú chā shǒu." he held the spear on the ground with the harpoon hand and using the handaxe he chopped the handle on the spear down to a few inches. Holding it up. "That will make a solid stake for the rope."
Moving near the cliff, he found a solid piece of ground and using the backside of the handaxe drove the spear/stake into the ground. Nodding to the handle. "Crimson, tie that rope to the handle and drop it over the end. " Looking at the hundred feet of rope, thinking aloud. "If we need to, we should be able to escape this way." Looking over the edge, 'Hopefully I won't need to fly some of us out. I don't want to leave anyone behind.' Resisting the urge to try and decide who he would fly out and who would climb. He points to the rope. "Breaker you go first, I'll follow, then Crimson bring up the rear."

Having gotten his cursed prosthetic untwined from the rope, he plants his feet on the knotted rope. Releasing with his hand first, he leans back then pushes off the knot with his feet. Intentionally flipping so he is diving into the water.

The waters of the cove are deep enough to cushion your fall - thanks to your nice dive. Crimson follows you into the water. Climbing back up will likely be unpleasant due to the stirges' presence, but that's a problem for another time.
Looking around, you see a narrow tunnel leading into the east side of the cove. The ocean churns there, so swimming might be difficult.
Athletics (swim) DC 15 to go through. If you fail, you'll still make it through, but I'll need a Reflex DC 10 to avoid scraping the walls.

Seeing the narrow tunnel leading into the east side of the cove, Elek spits out the sea water in his mouth, then nods with his head as he treads water. "We need to swim that way." Waiting long enough to make sure Crimson and Breaker understood, he begins swimming into the churning water.
swim: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 1 = 16 not sure why I didn't just take '10' but that will do.
----------------------
Once inside tunnel and past the churning water, he softly tells the cursed prosthetic, "Chéngwéi dàpào." as he keeps a keen eye out.
Your Benevolent Dictator
You hear the sound of grindylows nearby (D2). They're probably the ones you saw earlier. It should be simple to avoid them for now, however.
Map for reference
You're in D1. Would you prefer D3 or D7?
Elek Kardforgató
Ignoring the sound of the Grindylow to the south west, Elek gestures towards the south east. Swimming into the tunnel as it hooks around to the north he pauses for a moment, noticing the seaweed curtains blocking the view. Looking back at Breaker and Crimson, he shakes his head. Looking both ways, he finally points his hand-cannon toward the right C3 and begins moving that direction. Walking on the cave floor where he can, swimming where he can't.
Hard to tell which parts of the map are walkable and which parts need to be swam. Will take 10 (16) on swimming when needed (until combat) and take 10(12) on perception until then as well
Your Benevolent Dictator
The vast majority of the area will need to be swam. Take 10 is fine, of course. XD
The seaweed curtain has countless tiny hooks hidden among the fronds. They're not large enough to hurt, but avoiding getting snagged proves difficult.
Reflex DC 10 vs entangled
The tunnel is decorated with the jawbones of numerous frightful-looking fish, resembling the throat of some hideous aquatic creature. You also find a half-dozen grindylows that quickly attack!
Enemy Initiative: 6d20 + 12 ⇒ (14, 15, 19, 10, 4, 15) + 12 = 89 (slightly below 15)
PC Initiative: 3d20 + 9 ⇒ (14, 10, 13) + 9 = 46 (average slightly above 15)

reflex/fatigued: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 - 1 = 11 Whew
Strange, is the seaweed 'curtain' dropping from the top, or growing in the water?
Ducking his head below the Seaweed curtain, he noticed as one of the tiny hooks among the fronds pulled at his wet collar. Pointing at the seaweed he mouthed the words, "Watch out" to Crimson and Breaker then swam into the tunnel.
Seeing the grindylow quickly approaching, He chooses a type of blast that he knows will penetrate the water. Pointing the weapon at the nearest sea-goblin. Telling the cannon "Cì chuān, shèjí," Drawing his escot, as he begins to move backwards, trying to keep a little distance between him and his next target.
Attack: Cannon, deadly aim, fatigued. move action: draws weapon as he moves backwards
attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 - 1 - 1 = 9 for damage: 1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7
well those are two terrible rolls, not sure of the distance of the Grindylows, but was trying to get back far enough to get one more shot in, before they are in melee.
Elek Kardforgató
"Blast!" Cursing as the blast missed the slimy little sea-goblin, Elek lined up the shot again, "Cì chuān, shèjí," Repeating the command to the cursed cannon. After the thing fired at the nearest Grindylow. Elek told it "huí dào yú chā shǒu" moving closer preparing to engage the little monsters in hand to hand.
Attack: Cannon, deadly aim, crafted blast fatigued. Mving closer to the others, so next round can move and feint.
attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 - 1 - 1 = 15 for damage: 1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4 Crafted blast damage is 6
Your Benevolent Dictator
You shoot one of the grindylows right in the head, and it goes down. Breaker and Crimson each slay an opponent as well. The remaining three continue fighting - including a tricorne-wearing gobbo who lunges at you with its spear.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Confirm?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Crit Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Distracted by the fact that one of the goblins wore Sandara's hat. Elek failed to dodge the evil little things spear. Feeling it slash his arm, he feints with his estoc and the wounded arm. "That hat doesn't belong to you."then attacks with the cursed harpoon hand.
Fatigued str/dex -2, AC 16, feint, attack: + 1 harpoon hand, sneak attack, fatal thrust
feint: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 1 = 8 for damage: 1d4 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 - 1 = 3 SA: 1d6 ⇒ 3 FT: 1d6 ⇒ 1
That's a sad roll.
Elek Kardforgató
Catching the harpoon in the seaweed, Elek jerks it loose as he manages to dodge the sea-goblins spear. Shifting again, he thrusts with the estoc, feinting and again, slashes with the cursed harpoon hand, this time feeling it cut into the creature.
Fatigued str/dex -2, AC 16, feint, attack: + 1 harpoon hand, sneak attack, fatal thrust
feint: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 - 1 = 20 for damage: 1d4 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 - 1 = 1 SA: 1d6 ⇒ 5FT: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Your Benevolent Dictator
You slay the grindylow as Breaker and Crimson do the same to their opponents. Both have minor injuries but nothing too serious.
I'll assume you recover Sandara's hat. XD
Continuing deeper into the tunnel system, you come to a small cavern (D4) with strangely ribbed markings on the walls. The floor is covered in a thick carpet of seaweed.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The markings on the walls appear to simply be the result of wave action.
