Paizo Number: 261522

Day Job Check: (prefer to do at end to see if I get any faction goals instead)
I can't think of any purchases I need at the moment, once we read the intro I'll see if anything seems relevant.

Dotting in with interest as well! Liora is a fresh 2nd level so she's good to play all three scenarios :)
That said, I am currently in the middle of GMing this same trilogy for one of my own tables so Liora would take a little more of a backseat on the decision-making and such.
Might also change up her archetype before I get things locked in for good.

Just a note: I don't think a "fresh" level 2 has enough experience to level up before the 3rd part of the trilogy, you would need to be at 4xp right now to do so.
4xp start - Sandstorm Prophecy/ part 1
5xp start - part 2
6xp start - part 3 (minimum level 3 required)
Of course you are still free to join, just wanted to let you know ahead of time.

If you still have room...
Player Name: cmlobue
Character Name: Egavreis
Paizo Number: 312045
Character Number: 10
Faction: Sovreign Court
Day Job Check: Rising Star boon: Knowledge Nobility DC 16: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
If my reroll survives the scenario, will reroll that with two stars.

Yeah, I was getting ahead of myself on that so you're correct. But I'm currently GMing a 1-5 that should hopefully wrap up well before we're ready to start Part 3; I'll just assign Liora the GM credit and apply it whenever we finish Part 1 or Part 2.
And if for some reason we rocket through two scenarios before my GM game ends, I'll bow out for Part 3 and catch a run of it later :)
Gonna make some quick tweaks to Liora and then I'll get her info posted and jump in to Gameplay!

Oh! Purchases! I almost forgot I wanted to buy... Volume 1 of the Pathfinder Chronicles from the Pathfinder Society Primer for 200g.
Relevant bonus: Deal with geniekind more effectively (Diplomacy & Kn.Planes +2)
This is my first "Pathfinder Chronicles" purchase - it doesn't specifically say those bonuses are only in regards to genies, but it makes sense they would be conditional bonuses, right? @GM how does this work?
Reading a copy of a Pathfinder Chronicles volume grants a bonus on one or more skill checks made in specific situations, as determined by the book’s contents, which generally helps a Pathfinder deal with short-term obstacles in the field. Spending at least 1 hour each day reading a given volume grants a character the associated bonus (or bonuses) under the specified circumstances for 24 hours. If rushed, a character can attempt to locate pertinent information in a volume on hand by perusing it for 1 minute and succeeding at a DC 15 Intelligence check. Any bonus gained in this way is halved (minimum +1).
Other purchases:
- already have rope
- survival gear? Are those special slitted desert helms we picked up from last game available for purchase? The only other things I can think of is filter scarf, but I don't own that source material YET
- Endure Elements? Can anyone cast it? Should we buy a wand of it?

![]() |

Looks like we've got several folks in the group that can cast Endure Elements - basically everyone but Maud, I think. I'm happy to spend some PP to pick up a wand if need be.
Liora will also buy the following:
Pearl of Power (1st) - 1,000 gp

![]() |

So it looks like literally no one in the group has a single rank in Diplomacy ><
This'll be... innnteresting.

![]() |

^Yeah, I just checked that myself, haha.
Went ahead and made an attempt to learn something over in Gameplay but if someone else wanted to make the lead attempt then feel free to consider Liora's roll an Aid Another if you like :)

'it is mostly agates & geodes'
Agates and geodes are awesome! I used to like collecting rocks and such when I was a kid :)

![]() |

Liora will do the same and is happy to alternate charges with Yulau :)

I actually know very little about rocks/minerals, so I'm glad I picked good ones :)
I never learned any of the names, but I liked to pick up pretty rocks while hiking as a kid too... until I realized I was making life more difficult for myself by hauling around tons of rock weight, lol
-----------------------------------
ALSO - Maud has a wand of Mage Armor that she can't use yet - so if any of you magic types would like to hold on to it for me if you're willing to spend your first combat turn on making me defensible - that would be RAD

Apologies for posting delays; Tuesday & Wednesday proved busier than expected. As a note, I'll be heading out of town today for a convention and won't be back until Monday afternoon. I won't make any guarantees about posting but I will say that I'll have my Chromebook with me and probably won't completely fill my schedule up with games, soooo...we'll see!
That said, if it comes down to waiting on me, by all means go ahead and bot me and keep things rolling. I'll catch up when I can :)

Back from my trip and ready to roll :)

So if I'm reading the map correctly, the elemental wants us to join them at the bank of the lower pool, not cross against the upper river?

![]() |

At the risk of being presumptuous...
The map is kinda wonky but my understanding of it when I ran this scenario is that the river flows down into a box canyon of sorts. So even though it looks like one could just follow the river around and then climb down to where Elsharon is, bypassing the sand pool entirely, that's not actually possible. We have to go into the river, down into the pool, and then out.
That said, that was my interpretation for my table; GM Mauve may have a different read on it :)

GM Mauve |

Yeah - it's definitely a bit wonky. There's quite a lot to it, so sorry.
Added the river to the map. Currently, you're on the side of the upper river. The only way to the other side (where Elsharon is) is down the river, over the sandfall, and into the pool.
You HAVE to follow the river down and over the sandfall. You can try a DC 15 Swim check to swim down it. If you fail (or chose not to swim), you fall over the sandfall into the pool below.
If you fall over (e.g. fail the above save or jump over), you take 1d6 nonlethal damage when you fall into the pool.
If you had passed the above Swim check, you can try to do an DC 15 Acrobatics or Swim check to negate the damage, otherwise you take 1d6 nonlethal damage.
Once in the pool, you have to do a DC 5 Swim check to keep your head above the sand, but not move. (or possibly drown). A DC 10 Swim check is needed to swim half your speed.
You can try a Climb check only when you are in the pool below to climb along the walls.
If you have any questions about the process, let me know. It's a bit much to do. You can try one at a time, or all at once.

GM Mauve |

When the scenario mentioned rope or a pole, I imagine it refers to something like this where someone on solid ground can toss to those in the sand pool.
I like the zipline idea, but unsure how to rule it exactly. It'll help those in the river (since they can shimmy down), but wont help with those who fall in the sand pool below (as it'll be too far above their heads).

Sorry I was MIA yesterday - had a dental emergency

![]() |

IDK if you could take 10 in this situation or not:
Taking 10: When your character is not in immediate danger or distracted, you may choose to take 10. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, calculate your result as if you had rolled a 10. For many routine tasks, taking 10 makes them automatically successful. Distractions or threats (such as combat) make it impossible for a character to take 10.
...since you can take damage if you fail in this situation... I would be inclined to think that would qualify as a 'threat' or 'danger'? @GM call?

![]() |

I'm very sorry for my sudden detachment - my mental health has taken a nosedive in the last few weeks. I will still of course try to check in, but feel free to bot me as necessary to move along.

![]() |

Don't worry about the game - your mental health is way more important. I'm sorry you're struggling and I hope that things improve for you soon.

Maud-sending you a collection of virtual comforting hugs. Feel free to use as necessary and let me know if you run out and I'll send more :=)

Congrats on finishing! Will work on your chronicle sheets and should have them out sometime tonight or tomorrow.
If you have any questions or comments, please let me know!
Also, this is part of a trilogy. Let me know if you are interested in continuing. If so, would you want to continue on this thread or create a new thread?
