Parents are entitled to treat those in education any way that they want. I got accused of spreading idolatry in May for having the kids do a Latin project where we were studying mythology and asked them to design their own pantheon, myths, epic stories and heroes.
Little did the dad know that I was a seminarian in Rome in my younger days and teach theology at a few institutions.

I did not explicitly intend to out youthen your guy, but, Cevendyl is like one of those really annoying millennials who has read everything ... and never left their hometown.
That said, he was kinda just dropped off to meet the group like an after-school program and is trying to do the best he can. Divination may tell you where you are supposed to be, but rarely how you will make that work.
For sure though, Windsworn is more worldly regardless of chronology. I am sure he has lived the fewest years, but he is vastly more experienced, especially having had a real mentor before who was a real knight and fought in wars and stuff.

I am almost done reading Renegade Wizards by Lucien Soulban, and I really don't want it to end. It's set before the War of the Lance and it's a really good look at the Wizards and their politics.

Took me a minute to go back and look; if she passed her Test (she did) someone superior to her has to have administered it. Why would she be unknown to the Conclave? Seems like if the Elven Council were going to send an apprentice, they could just send the scribe. Right? The scribe didn't have a Master, and wanted to take the test so he could wear the White. Cev for the time being isn't a known quantity but that shouldn't be an issue, until it's an issue ...
But the mission (at least back in May) was for the Lady Wizard, who was the only person appropriate to send, to ask for educational support to build magic capacity in the elven nation.
She is trying to see if there are other wizards who can come and help teach as well. The Orders are slowly regrowing.

I think you could solicit other players to specifically take the roles that were vacated too: I have ended up in a Kingmaker AP mostly because I agreed to play Regongar (which I am loving). There has to be someone who would want the role of the wizardess.
