Horst Broadrim |

Horst draws his dagger with his off hand and waiting for an opening throws it at the blue kobold.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
But he mistimes the throw and it's knocked aside by one of Durnik's swings.

GM Mauve |

Horst tries to throw his dagger at the blue kobold but unfortunately misses!
The pink kobold picks up some rotten fish on the table and throws it at Durnik.
Fish: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
The fish lands directly on Durnik! Though he doesn't feel hurt, the hero feels sticky and gross. Durnik takes a -1 status penalty to any d20 rolls and DCs until he spends an action to clean the gross food off.
Then the pink kobold draws its spear.

Dragh keeps his hand at his necklace and reclaims some of the powers that he previously has spent. He sends one of the magic missiles at the most wounded foe, and the other two at another one.
Magic missile@blue: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Magic missile@orange: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 2 = 5
Durnik takes a swing with his greatsword. He attacks twice and takes a step forwards to go out of the corridor.

Damage, slashing: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Ok, the plan is: 1 MM at blue to kill them, 2 MM at orange. Durnik makes two attacks one at Orange (hopefully killin it) the other at Orange (if alive) or red. Then Durnik moves at the place of orange (

(Oops. Didn't see you botted Durnik. Thanks! Will post update)
Dragh focuses his attention at both the blue and orange kobold. Magic missiles fly from his hand, one obliterating the blue one and greviously injuring the orange one.
Durnik then slashes at orange, killing it. He slashes at red, then steps into the room.

And another kobold goes down to the cleric known as Ursk!
The last remaining kobold, one with brown scales, drops his weapons then gets down on his knees. "I surrender. I SURRENDER!" he says in a raspy, high-pitched voice, tears and snot running down his face. "I can tell you anything I know... only if you spare my life."

If you are sparing him, you can give him 10 gp and he will likely share what he knows about his boss. If you give him 20 gp, he may reveal even more information.
It's also possible to persuade the kobold or intimidate it with a Diplomacy check or Intimidation check.

Horst Broadrim |

Horst picks up his dagger and carefully checks the edge as he stalks closer to the kobold.
"Gold? Now you want gold? A moment ago, you were promising everything in exchange for your life. Let's see if we can get back to that, shall we?"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

GM Mauve |

The kobold stammers. "Yes... yes... you're right. Sorry sir dwarf."
The kobold stands up, shaky on its legs. "Boss Mother Zolgran is the big leader of the mighty kobolds, and she has powerful magics to roast you alive. She's very angry all the time and demands much of her servants children. Especially now that we have a powerful new friend..."
He pauses, looks cautiously around, then whispers to Horst. "The friend... is a dragon. And a blessing from the gods. A sign that kobolds are destined to return to the surface..." He becomes more confident now and holds his fist aloft. "And conquer the pathetic human town. As soon as the hatchling is all grown, we'll rise up to take what is ours!". He stands triumphantly, not realizing he is all alone and just insulted the human dwarves in front of him.

Dragh Goldenoak |

"Hatchling? You have a small dragon with you?" asks Dragh wondering
Can he recall anything about dragons? Arcana +7
"Leave your weapon and flee. Don't try coming back as we will attack you at first sight!"
"Durnik, clean that fish guts from your head!"

GM Mauve |

?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Dragh knows that dragons are known for their breath attacks. The kobold didn't mention what kind of dragon they had, so the wizard is unsure what type of breath this dragon would have. Dragh also knows that dragons are typically immune to sleep effects.
The kobold comes to reality, realizing where he is. He drops his weapon and runs sprints south. (Assuming everyone else lets him go. )

Horst Broadrim |

"A dragon." Horst mutters, "Fish thieves and kobolds are one thing, but even a small dragon is something else."
"Alright then. We can do this. I'm feeling surprisingly confident all of sudden. We can handle a dragon. 'Dragon Slayer' will definitely get free drinks at the bar. We don't need to mention it was just a hatchling."
Leveled up and feeling suddenly cocky.

GM Mauve |

After the defeat of the kobolds and learning of the dragon, the heroes venture north!
A gaping pit opens in the floor in the center of this large, natural chamber. ON the far side, a ledge overlooks the entry. Atop this ledge is an ornate stone throne that looks entirely out of place for this room. A regal kobold wearing an oversized crown made of fish bones sits atop the throne. "Kill the intruders!" she snarls at the two kobold guards at the foot of the stairs.
(The pit is 20 ft deep. To leap across it, you must spend 2 actions and attempt a DC 15 Athletics check to jump. If you fail, you fall down into the pit. )

Dragh touches Horsts shortsword. The sword starts to emit a radiant glow! Horst can feel the magic flow through the sword. Then Dragh lets out a crossbow at blue. Direct hit!
Durnik moves up to the reddish kobold. But the kobold is too swift and easily dodges out of the way of each attack.
Then Horst runs towards the blue kobold. He quickly and easily stabs the creature as it falls down into the pit.
(To climb, Horst will need to have both hands free. That means dropping his shortsword and climb. Or he can stow it with an Interact action then climb next turn. Let me know which you want to do.)

Then Ursk touches Durnik's weapon as it glows ever so slightly. Torag has blessed these dwarves!

Dragh points his finger at the large kobold as a ray of frost blasts her. She screams in pain. "You'll pay for this!" and swears at Dragh in Draconic.
Durnik then swings his sword and easily cleaves the red kobold in two. It falls into the pit, dead. Durnik then steps up the stairs.
Then Horst jumps up the ledge and stabs the large boss kobold from the behind. She screams out in pain as Horst finds a vital artery, severing it. She too falls to the ground.
Combat is over! Nice crit on the boss!
Examining the bodies, the large kobold has an eggshell necklace, an iron key, and a staff.
On the ledge, the throne sits and the dwarves realize this is also her personal resting area. A straw pallet rests here. Examining this out-of-place throne, it looks like the design matches the decor of the area a floor above (the large ballroom).
More importantly, there is an old, rusty iron chest. Atop this chest is a large, broken eggshell that's almost 2 feet tall. Ivory in color, the shell has green veins running through it, and it's clear that the pieces of eggshell worn by the boss and many of the kobolds here. Although its not entirely clear what was inside, there are large claw marks, bigger than any kobold could make, down one side of the shell.
The chest is locked. You can try a DC 25 Thievery check (with thieve's tools) to open it. Though you also found a key on the large kobold.

Dragh Goldenoak |

Dragh first scans the chest for any traps ... and then let someone else to have a look as well. FInally, he puts the earlier found key and tries to open it.
"If this is a dragon, I would prefer to be rested and have my spells ready, ugh!"
Is the staff magical, or its magic lies in supporting one's body when they are tired?

GM Mauve |

The staff doesn't seem very magical. More like a long stick to lean up on.
Dragh also does not see any traps. He tests the key and it pops open.
Inside the chest are: a silver bracelet with a fish pattern (worth 5 gp), a very old map that depicts some strange-looking dungeon, a magic sword with a dwarven face carved into the hilt, a wand, 2 potions, and a magic hat.

Horst Broadrim |

"I agree, but I'd also rather not give it or any other kobolds with it time to prepare. Or to flee. But then, I'm not a caster and don't know how much weaker that makes you."
"Can any of this stuff help us?"
Horst would have checked the chest as well, but since nothing was set off, he obviously didn't find anything.
He'll take a look at the map, trying to see if it lines up with anything here or if there are clues to where the strange dungeon might be.
Then, if the others are going to look at the magic stuff, he'll keep an eye on the hallway leading on to make sure no dragon is sneaking up on us.

Dragh Goldenoak |

Dragh begins to identify the items that they found: sword, wand. hat and 2 potions. I think those are all secret checks. Aracana +8, Crafting +8
"Let's check." I think we could use a magic weapon for the final fight :( But we should be fine.

GM Mauve |

Hat: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Potion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Dragh can sense these are magical, but he just can't focus hard enough to identify the items. Perhaps he's just worn out.
Horst looks at the map and can't identify it - it definitely does not look like the place they are in.
The heroes also notice the presences of mushrooms growing into the room to the east. It's hard to see, but they look giant further in. No signs of a dragon - yet...

Dragh Goldenoak |

oh, wow Failed for all :D Nice!
Dragh looks confused. "Horst maybe you can try?" If the magic is universal then you might use Religion to identify the sword and wand and hat. Maybe ;)

Haha! good one! Yeah I meant Ursk

GM Mauve |

Revealed the next/last room.
As the heroes head into the room, there is no immediate sign of the dragon. Towering yellow mushrooms cover the floor of the cave, some reaching over ten feet in height. They seem to emit a pale light, giving the entire chamber an eerie glow. Shattered remnants of barrels - torn open with their contents nowhere to be seen - lay scattered around the base of the mushrooms. Somewhere off on the far side of the chamber, something stirs, and a faint snarl comes from the shadows.
You can climb a mushroom with a successful DC 20 Athletics check.
What do you do?

Horst Broadrim |

Horst will definitely try to climb a mushroom. How often do you get that chance?
Looks like he'll have to go a ways into the room to get to a larger one, so he'll be quiet and careful to avoid notice until he gets there, keeping an eye out for the snarler.
Athletics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
With luck, that'll also get him a clearer view of the room and possibly the dragon.

Ursk Wildingot |

"What kind of dwarf wants to willingly get that far off the ground?" Ursk mutters to himself.
Ursk casts message and asks Horst, "You see whatever it is making that noise from up there?"

GM Mauve |

As Horst climbs a mushroom and the others follow in close behind, the dwarves feel a rumbling. A bright-green dragon leaps into view, and although the beast isn't much larger than you, large leathery wings and snapping jaws make the hatchling look like an ancient wyrm! The creature gazes at you with cunning eyes and snorts a cloud of yellow vapor. With a fierce roar, the dragon charges forward to attack!
