Looked at Rodney's sheet. Even his passive perception with disadvantage is enough... I believe everyone else's would be sub 10, with the exception of Khitt's who has an 11 with the penalty.

As everyone jumps at the sudden emergence of the zombie ogre, Rodney and Rodalas notice that the Duergar woman uses the distraction to turn invisible! Even if Baldy is holding onto her, I doubt that he is holding firmly, more guiding her. If I am wrong, Baldrick can make an Athletics check to hold on... If Rodalas or Rodney would like to make an d attack, they can at disadvantage. Remember that she is disarmed, so she is not likely an immediate threat. Based on the direction that she was taking you, it is easy enough to know where this Nildar is... (see map)

Her hands are also tied (that probably wouldn't affect her ability to use a special ability, but it might slow her down / make her less of a threat.

And yeah, Baldrick would probably have had a hand on her shoulder, and almost certainly would have let go when dodging away from the zombie. Speaking of which, is it likely to get out of that cage?

Investigation: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5

Gripping his warhammer and shield more tightly, Baldrick makes a wide semi-circle around the zombie, heading for the room to the south.

Just picking a destination at random, happy to go in a different direction.

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

It could get out, given time, but it would take a while and the cages look like sturdy Duergar construction...

As for the Duergar woman, I am going to give a moment for Rodalas or Rodney to act..

RODALAS

should have gutted her when we had the chance, lol

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

You can take a shot at disadvantage, before you think she moved to far. If not, I will continue.

Rodney asks, Is she a threat?

Rodney is sure that he can either make her visible again, or otherwise take care of her... I will leave the choice up to you all.

stop her what ever way you can Netz hisses

RODALAS

can he get a shot too?

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

Okay Rodney shrugs before starting a dirty limerick about a man with loins afire...

Dex save: 1d20 ⇒ 15

The area is lit with multicolored flames, reminding Rodalas of his home, the Twilight Realm of the Fae, but the woman seems long gone...

Yes, but at disadvantage.

@Baldrick, if you wish... it is faerie fire so he can drop it immediately after. Describe it as you wish! ;)

With practiced ease, Rodalas slips the bow from his back and looses an arrow, but it skitters across the ground, his quarry long gone from the area that he thought she must be...

The ogre continues to batter against the cage making enough noise to wake the dead!

Baldrick's dodge to the left to avoid the grasping hands of the ogre turns into a flying leap as the floor beneath him bursts into purple flames: "Wha-!" he squawks, as an arrow flies past his ear. Tucking into a surprisingly graceful roll from shoulder to land upright, poised for action. Baldrick takes two deep breaths as the fires flicker out around him, before turning to the others: "Watch out for the traps when you come through there! C'mon, let's go find this Nibglar, ... or whatever."

just great dandy hell of pickled elf guts son of a fey whore dipped in cold iron for all that is holy could we have boon doggled this any more? We just need to leave before we meet more enemies then we can handle and report this spot to the authorities. Any scouting or taking out small groups is over and surprise is shot to the 9th realm of hell!

Umikh looks from the raging ogre, to Nezter, to Baldrick. We might yet have a chance to talk to this...person while we still have the upper hand. He flinches as the ogre reminds him they must move quickly.

Umi's for pressing on, but ya know Netz makes a darn good bit of sense.

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

Based on what you've seen, it looks like there might just be a skeleton crew here. Both of the sentries that were on watch were both single individuals, where someone with a military background would know that unless you do not have the personnel you would always double up on sentries.

Will move forward later today or tomorrow morning.

RODALAS

The eladrin looks at the dwarf pickled elf guts and son of a fey does tend to describe one of the members of this group

The ogre zombie restrained for the moment, you move into the chamber. The double doors are open, with a drawbridge on the inside of the chamber in case they needed to fend of an assault.

There is a well near the center of the room and a pair of terrified goats in the cell next to the undead ogre. Leaning against the nearest wall is a sled with icicles forming on its edge...

Two other paths lead further into the fort, one to the North and one to the Southwest. A quick inspection reveals that the corridor SW ends in a closed door, while the other leading North is a series of chambers with no doors that you can see...

yes I shall try not to curse like my great grand daddy from the book of grudges. Old habits and Netz shrugs.

RODALAS

how big are the goats?

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

Normal wooly goats with shaggy coats. They come up to your mid-thigh.

Baldrick, already on his way to the door to the south, pivots back to face the party: "Oh! I thought... So should we go back?"

Also, does the dragonborn have anything to say here -- I thought he was the 'authorities'.

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

The dragonborn investigator shakes his head, This is beyond me! I am a little out of his depth here... I am guard from Caer Konig, and we are a bit out of my jurisdiction, but I do think those were the missing goats... Billie and Jilly. Look, Jilly's the one with a heart shaped spot on her back.

Looking cautiously at the zombie cage and giving it a wide birth as he enters the room, Khitt stays to the outside wall. In response to Baldrick, ”We’re in now, we won’t get a better opportunity. We may want to take that thing out while it’s caged and we’re not under attack though” indicating the zombie ogre. As to back up his comment, he sends an arrow at the creature.

"I am for one do not want to get close to that thing. I could try and weave a spell of a minor illusion to make it think that all it sees is the cage." He offers up.

RODALAS

We might be able to use the goats in our escape! the eladrin mentions.

Thanks for the reminder that we are actually looking for goats! I've been sick and my brain is not working.

"Oh yeah, we should definitely bring the goats with us!" Looking over his shoulder, deeper into the fort, "... be nice to bring back Jarthra's pearls and Allie's lantern too, though."

Pointing at the zombie: "That thing will probably calm down if we leave this room -- looks pretty well stuck in there for now, though we could better secure the door, if you're worried about it getting out."

I rolled Investigation earlier to see if the cage was secure (though I didn't roll very well!). If there's a concern about this coming up behind us, we could lure it to one side of the cage while someone fixes up the door. Otherwise, I think Rodney's got the right idea -- if it doesn't see us, it'll stop making noise. No sense wasting a spell unless we're planning to hang around, though.

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

So, which way? The map is updated, you can go North or SW.

Umikh slowly moves toward the SW, figuring the raging beast will quiet once we're out of sight. Hopefully he mutters, sword at the ready.

Grand Lodge

Owlbear Rodeo

Okay, as no other responses, we will head SW!

At the end of the corridor, you find a stout wooden door shod in iron. A quick tug finds that the door is not locked, nor trapped, but the hinges squeal a bit in protest as it is pulled open... You may do with that as you may. If you wish to take precautions before continuing, let me know, otherwise...

This chamber appears to be a cellblock lined with stone doors that have small, barred windows set into them at dwarf’s-eye height. Snow and wind enter the room through a barred window in the northeast corner that looks out toward the snow-covered bunker that guards the main entrance.

Grand Lodge

As Umikh moves to the West cells, they seem empty, but as he moves toward the South wall, the young hill dwarf feels that flagstone under his foot sink just a half inch. The doors to the South wall swing open and several humanoid forms charge from their cells!

Will give Rodney until tomorrow to post before I bot him. First round is a bit of a blur then you all will get a better look at these guys... Initial glance tells you that they are Reghed tribesmen, but maybe that they lost their minds, maybe. Oddly, they are not yelling like they usually do and moving kind of oddly, with a stilted gait.

Map Updated.

Umm... probably not very? His community trades with all sorts, though, so it's possible he's heard rumours/stories.
