With a flourish of cold air as the door opens, the blueish looking eladrin enters the room, having taken upon himself the winter form that eladrin ar able to do. He is quiet but calm, like the ground of fresh fallen snow, a new bow on his back, which is also blue like he is.
He nods to his companions, sits and orders a cup of mulled wine.
| Baldrick Longhall |
Wiping his mouth with the back of a hand, Baldrick squints at the eladrin: "Izzat you, Rodalas? (It's so hard to tell when he keeps changin'! Hey, Allie! Our last companion has arrived, and he looks cold!"
When all have been served and are settled, Baldrick adds to Netzer's demand for action: "If we're all ready, tomorrow let's go look down this duergar hole. Khitt can take us there, I think."
| Khitt |
Wiping his mouth with the back of a hand, Baldrick squints at the eladrin: "Izzat you, Rodalas? (It's so hard to tell when he keeps changin'! Hey, Allie! Our last companion has arrived, and he looks cold!"
When all have been served and are settled, Baldrick adds to Netzer's demand for action: "If we're all ready, tomorrow let's go look down this duergar hole. Khitt can take us there, I think."
”From the looks of that map, it shouldn’t be too hard to find. I have a feeling once we get closer I’ll. E able to find some sign of those dwarves and be able to follow em back to whatever hole they crawled out of.” Khitt adds confidently while scarfing down his meal. Civilized or not, a hungry goblin is still a hungry goblin.

Allie, responding to Netzer's call for trouble, pipes up, Trovus, over there is hunting thieves, if'n you're looking for some trouble. Stole our magic lantern, they did, as well as a pair of goats at the Hook, Line, and Sinker!
| Umikh Ironbender |
Umikh raises an eyebrow at Allie's reply. He's sort of assumed Netzer was joking, but Eh, might be we could take care o' that? he asks the table.
Aeshuura
|
Allie frowns, I think they were dwarf-kin, no offense.
At that, a stockier woman, probably a sister by the looks of it, bursts from the back, a ladle in her hand and a grease-stained apron, 'Tweren't no dwarf-kin, Allie. Don't be daft! Ain't hear'd of a quiet dwarf in my lifetime!
The stocky woman tosses a wink at her dwarf patrons (most of you all), Ain't that right, boys?
| Baldrick Longhall |
"I'LL DRINK TO THAT!!" (though he'll look supremely embarrassed if he's the only one to respond)
Once the shouting dies down, Baldrick will ask: "Did anyone see them? Were they maybe grey, bald, and beardless?"
| Rodalas Windrace |
The eladrin listens to what is being said, trying to gather as much information as he can in order to determine how best to deal with their described foes.
Aeshuura
|
Allie shakes her head, Only saw tracks. Boots, thick, but short strides... made me think of your kin.
| Baldrick Longhall |
Baldrick calls over to the next table: "Trovus? Please feel free to join us - bring your friend, too! Is there any kind of help we can offer in your search?"
| Rodalas Windrace |
Growing a little bored with the conversation, the eladrin begins to play a game with a dagger, moving it in-between his fingers, steadily going faster.
Aeshuura
|
The dragonborn looks at the bunch of you and back at the guard, I will accompany you, but Carter will stay for his next watch.
The rumbling voice of the dragonborn echoes throughout the entire common room as he stands, Are you ready to leave now, or would you prefer to be leaving on the morrow?
| Baldrick Longhall |
Oh! I just assumed it was evening - I guess if it's still early we could set out again. Also, Trovus is the dragonborn, right? Are they suggesting coming with us to the spot on the map, or to investigate the thefts in town (assuming those are unrelated)?
Aeshuura
|
It is always evening, as it is always dark. You have spent much of your day traveling, but he has not, which is why he is ready to leave now, but also why he offers for you to rest first...
Aeshuura
|
Trovus nods, Then I will be here in the morning. Until then...
The silver dragonborn orders another round and continues his conversation with the town guard. He seems to regard you well enough, but seems all business.
Feel free to ask him any questions if you'd like, or Allie and her sister, for that matter.
| Umikh Ironbender |
Outloud, to everyone, Got any idea who took the stuff? Like tracks or clues or whatnot?
He polishes off his current mug of warmth and resolves that that be it for the night.
Aeshuura

Allie said she saw tracks but that was a few days ago, and she admits that the snow has likely covered it up by now. She says they were heading in the direction of the Cairn. Allie swears that she thinks that they were dwarves, based on the stride and size of the boots, but Cori, her sister thinks that she is daft. Whatever stole the lantern at their door was quiet, far too quiet for the likes of dwarf-kin by her reckoning.
| Baldrick Longhall |
"Well! Could be they were headed toward that hole we're looking for anyway! That'd be lucky! Hey Trovus, have there been other odd things since the battle with the beasts?"
Aeshuura
|
Trovus shakes his head, The odd beast here and there, coming around, but nothing like that army. Then aside from the interminable cold and the missing items around town, it has been business as usual, I suppose.
Aeshuura
|
Allie blushes, Oh, it's not anything special, but it's ours. We can change the color of the light without changing lenses...
| Rodalas Windrace |
The eladrin listens to what is being said and putting his dagger away, begins to prep his arrows and makes sure that his bow string and weapon are in working order.
| Greycastle |
After listening to the accounts and weighing peoples opinions, Khitt speaks up. “She said the tracks looked to be heading to the Cairn. We just came from that the at and we saw nuthin. So I’d say the tracks have gone with the wind. Best chance we got is to head to the location on the map, maybe we’ll catch site of some fresher tracks once we get into the area.” he nods as he quiets and looks to the other with a confident look.
Aeshuura
|
Bear in mind that you came around the side. You were coming here to approach the Cairn from this side, so you didn't quite come from that direction, even if you have come from the Cairn... and your alias is showing! ;)
Aeshuura

Allie pipes up, A pair of goats were taken from the Hook, Line, and Sinker near the entrance into town!
Don't forget them pearls was stolen from Frozenfar! Allie's sister, Cori adds before heading back into the kitchen.
Allie looks at your puzzled faces, The Frozenfar Expeditions, a local Adventuring Outfitter in the middle of town. If you need anything for your trip, you would likely find what you need there!
| Baldrick Longhall |
Reaching into a pouch, Baldrick pulls out a small piece of Chardalyn: "What about the black ice stuff? Anyone in town have anything like that? A buncha the stuff went missing over in Easthaven..."
Aeshuura
|
Allie shrugs, I haven't heard anything about that. Maybe?
Trovus and Carter both seem unsure as well...
| Khitt |
Alias showing… oops
”Frozenfar? Yeah I heard of them. Never heard anything bad either, so that’s good.” took some liberties on me hearing of the fellow pathfinders. ”If nothing else, they may have heard somethin more that could give us some clues since they get outside of town. We should stop by, see what we can find out.”
Aeshuura
|
You awake in the morning, sleeping out of the cold for the first time in a while is a rare luxury. In the morning, a breakfast of hot soup, eggs, and fish awaits you along with Allie's infectious smile.
After soaking up the warmth of the common room, prepare to leave. As you step outside, the dragonborn, Trovus, is waiting out in the cold drinking from a flask, Well then, what is our first stop? Frozenfar first, then the Cairn?
| Baldrick Longhall |
With a yawn and a stretch as he steps from the inn, Baldrick looks up at the big man and gestures with his warhammer: "Sounds fine - lead the way, friend."
Aeshuura
|
The silver scaled guard shrugs and leads you off down the road, Atenas Swift and Jarthra Farzassh run the place. I think they used to adventure with each other. They may know something, but at the very least, they offer much in terms of supply. You fleshy types tend to do poorly in the cold...
If any of you wish to purchase anything, Frozenfar Expeditions has anything on the PHB Adventuring Gear table. They also have a dozen sled dogs and two sleds, if you would like to rent them. 10 gold per sled with 6 dogs per day, plus feed. Also, if you'd like to ask the proprietors anything, go ahead.
| Umikh Ironbender |
Once we arrive at Frozenfar, Umikh will stock up on the usual standard supplies like food and lantern oil or whatever it is we use for a light source. Also a flask, he seems to have lost his as in this seems like something he'd have but I don't have it on his inventory so yeah.
So now he's got his old battleaxe and the new long sword. I'm thinking he doesn't need to lug around both; can he sell the axe? Was there anything magical about our new weapons?
Aeshuura
|
Cold weather gear is 10 gp, crampons (shoe spikes) are 2 gp, and snow shoes are another 2 gp.
| Baldrick Longhall |
When the clerk at Frozenfar offers Umikh a measly 5 gold for his battleaxe, Baldrick seems shocked, bordering on outraged: "What! Five gold? But! This is good dwarven steel! If you knew the stories this axe could tell - and, what, just has a few scratches. Just needs a good polish!" Producing a rag, Baldrick starts cleaning up the axe, muttering to himself.
Mending
"There! See - good as new! Now, whaddya say, eh?"
Persuasion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
lol - maybe not
Also, I don't suppose Baldrick can sell the Charlatan's Die here?
Other than a restock on food and arrows, I don't think Baldrick needs anything. Oh, he'll buy a shield.
or whatever it is we use for a light source
Magic glowing rocks?
Aeshuura
|
Jarthra, a Gold Dwarf from the South scoffs, Don't you be pulling one over on me, my friend. We are a supply store, we have little use for weaponry. Maybe try a smithy or armory. I can give you 5 pieces of the gold, take it or leave it Bastion.
I am just taking creative license and saying that the Gold Dwarves from the South call Shield Dwarves, Bastion. The Shield Dwarves call the Gold Dwarves, Aurum.
| Umikh Ironbender |
Umikh appreciates the effort!
I also bought some cold weather gear. Next down time, gonna make something to sell!
| Baldrick Longhall |
Baldrick rolls his eyes dramatically, but shrugs and grins good-naturedly: "Well, no harm in trying. Say, we heard you had some goats go missing... no, that was the other... Anyway, something got stolen, yeah? Sounds like a few other things around town too -- any ideas what's happening? We came across some of the grays being mischievous in Easthaven..."
