Buddy has his cannon but it is heavy weapon, and the car mounted one is longarms :(
Buddy keeps on aiming as Szama is going. He chuckles hearing that 'Buddy going through Akitonian Way bars' has become a saying
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Addintional penalty -2 or -4 :(
Damage, laser: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Yeah, What Joe says. But also I did 6 points of damage in my last post and it was not taken into the account (unless all of it was 'eaten' by the armor).

All is good....trust me....ship combat on PbP seems a mess sometimes....vehicle chases have to be worse. I am actually worried if the MECH rules become SFS legal that things will get even worse if they use the current playtest rules...and I like the rules.
Joe's back legs scramble for purchase on the door arm rest, gripping for all their worth. Four of her arms hold cardinal points on the window ledge, attempting to keep her as stable as possible. The top two hold her caustolance...trying for another shot at the stupid car's rear axle.
Caustolance (EAC): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 Did not take a -2 or 4 penalty here, please adjust as needed
Damage (Acid): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

As smoke pours out of the enemy vehicle, a grin spreads across Szama's face (though of course none of you can see that because of the mask). "Alright, everyone, hold on tight! I'm going to bring us in close!"
Piloting-Engage vs Enemy KAC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Shifty |

The chase rules are certainly an issue, I'm not a fan of them at all at this point. Starship by PbP is also less than elegant - but runs really well at the table
Szama gets you in tight!
Squizzer keeps the distractions going!
Joe gets acid burnign the enemy car - it is now a rolling wreck - not much more to go to write it off!

New map up!
Ayoka shoots out something rather serious looking on the enemy vehicle and it gets sent careening into a block of condemned buildings - you slam on the brakes and come to a shuddering halt in a cloud of sand, asphalt, and tyre smoke.
You get out of the vehicle and can see the trashed van laying on its side, but two Shobhad have managed to get out and take up firing positions Using some cover.

Buddy runs towards the nearest wall and also takes cover. He aims at the closest shobhad and takes shot
Attack@black vs KAC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage, c&p: 1d8 ⇒ 8
"Drop your guns, and surrender!" he turns towards Joe "Or should I have said it before shooting? I always forget."

![]() |

Szama moves past Joe and gets into some cover as well. "I need to get close! Then we'll really bring the skitter-storm!"
Move and draw a pistol with the first move action; draw a grenade with my second move action

Joe loads a quick biohack into her gun, and then shoots at the probably charging closest Shobhad...hoping to give it problems.
Caustolance, Liquidator (EAC): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 To hit

Shoot, then move to the west to get a wall and bikes in the way....

Ayoka runs up to behind Buddy and overarm bowls a frag grenade at Buddy's target, hopefully to get the target in the blast radius. She may be practising for the skittermander cricket team.
grenade: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 frag: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Szama imitates Ayoka's strategy. She moves to a position where she can get a clear throwing lane on the burly shobhad and hurls a grenade in his direction.
Grenade: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 Frag I: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Joe moves forward through the bikes, using them for as much cover as she can.
Finding it hard to see the other enemy, she instead takes aim at Ayoka with her needle pistol...and fires a dart into her.
No need to roll attack, as Joe does a daily 'wellness check' on all skitters to make certain both of their hearts are beating fine.... Ayoka, you get +2 AC for the next 5 rounds

Oops, I misread what was going on, and thought we were out of combat...
Squizzer's little friend pops into existence, and she sends it after the bad guy. Then she casts hazard, specifying sonic damage. (DC 14)
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Joe looks at the new Shobhad and slightly nods to herself...maybe they should take this one alive.
"Think we should take this one alive?"
Taking a spark of inspiration, she mixes a potent concoction, and aims at the persons knee or thigh....
Caustolance, Liquidator (EAC) taking NL penalty: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 7 - 4 = 19 To hit
Damage (acid): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Spark of inspiration allows me to mix 2 of my inhibitors once per day. So -2 to AC and -2 to Will saves, and I think I am out of biohacks if I track right
"Hopefully I have made this one more suggestable if people have anything that might make it sleep or become non-hostile."

"That might make it sleep... hmm, think, think. I know."
Buddy takes aim and shoots the bad guy

The grenade is mostly avoided, but then the acidic mist ebbs and the chemist is overcome, killed by the atmosphere brought from some alien and inhospitable planet.
/end combat.
With chemist and bodyguards defeated, you have time to search the delivery van. It’s packed full of laboratory equipment and crates. The crates contain both unrefined shimmerstone and ampoules of kinwood sap. Other crates contain enough finished shimmersheen to power a small army. After witnessing its effects, you easily deduce that the serum increases physical abilities while clouding the senses. To determine shimmersheen’s exact effects and chemical composition, you will need further study at the Lorespire Complex.
Stuffed halfway into a broken crate is the lifeless body of Firiz, the Xystrian agent. A quick examination reveals that he died from a broken neck more than a day ago, but that the body is remarkably well-preserved by cold and is beginning to thaw. With nothing more to do you load up the goods into one of the vehicles and drive back to the spaceport, where you can transfer the cargo to your shuttle for the return journey to Xys.
Anything else before leaving the planet?

![]() |

More unrefined shimmerstone ends up in Ayoka's collection.
Apart from that, there is nothing more that Ayoka wants to do there. Firiz's body is returned to his next of kin.

You pilot the borrowed shuttle back to Xys without further excitement. Makao collects the body of the deceased agent with reverence and thanks you all for your efforts in returning his Brother to their world. He doesn’t press PCs for details about what they found on Vorlath, however, and you suspect that the knowing looks and lack of questions probably means they already know. Makao generously rewards the Society with a credit transfer and escorts them back to their own starship. From there, you enjoy a tranquil trip back to the Pact Worlds.
As you check the local infosphere news feeds after leaving the Drift, you notice a headline buried in a host of mundane weather and financial reports that catches the eye: “Robotics lab suffers massive data loss.” The report provides no additional information except that the facility affected is located somewhere in the Vast.
Back at the Lorespire Complex, Ehu debriefs the group after a few days of analysis and closed-door discussions with other Society leaders. He explains that the Lorespire Complex’s labs confirmed that the raw materials recovered from the laboratory and shipment are shimmerstone and kinwood sap, though the sap displays variations in appearance and molecular structure different from any other sap samples their technicians have encountered before. Ehu also elaborates on the nature of the shimmersheen serum and reassures you all that most of the shipment has already been destroyed, with a few samples kept in the Archives and sent to the Stewards. "The shimmersheen’s similarity to an experimental serum recovered on Zrulik-3 is too great to be a coincidence. I have plans to investigate further, beginning with a trip to Ghorus Prime, the only known source of kinwood sap. I ask for your patience while leadership prepares for the mission, I WILL be in touch"
