Hornietelle is rather picky, when finding a place to stay, looking for the cleanest and softest hay. She eventually goes to sleep and dreams of her parents home, with the four poster bed, that was as soft as floating on air. Instead her dream is interrupted by the occasional little prick of a hay stalk digging into her skin.
Eating her breakfast as Mimi gives her report to Smine, she let's her get on with it, half listening, before she is jerked back to reality by the knock on the door. She looks up from her bread and honey.

Duncan looks up at the knock. He wraps his cape around one arm and rests his hand on his cane.

"Typical of our leaders, now we don't have any proof that of a rebellion. " Hornietelle is quite put out that they made the effort to talk with find Smine, only to be snubbed. "So do we warn the nobles of the impending rebellion or find any living descendants of Pavo Crispins."

![]() |

Mimi is a little surprised by Smine's lack of interest in their findings. Had he not explicitly urged them to report back to him if they discovered anything? How odd. Perhaps their little mission was no longer of much importance in the grand scheme of things.
When Hornietelle mentions their options, Mimi thinks, "Pavo Crispins? Why does that name sound familiar?" Mimi takes a second to think back (read: frantically searches old posts). "Ah, yes. You mean de old Pathfinder dat found a wafe among de villagers? You teenk 'ees descendants might know sometheeng of 'eem and vat 'appened to Kerinha Napsunar?"
Mimi thinks about it. "Bof! Maybe you are right. Eet cannot 'urt to ask around. So, Pavo Crispin first, then the king? Fine by Mimi.
Mimi would also like to see if there is someone in town that can transfer the +1 potency rune from the shortsword we found to her rapier. She'll use some of the loot they found to pay for the transfer. Perhaps she can duck into a blacksmith's shop for a bit while we ask around town about Pavo Crispin.

Mimi's regular equipment weighs 3.7 Bulk. She can carry a max of 11 Bulk, which means that the max weight of extra weaponry and armor that she can carry is 7.3 Bulk. Starting with the list supplied by DM rainzax HERE, Mimi brings in the following items:
---- 6 Shortswords (one with a +1 potency rune)
---- 1 Hatchet
---- 5 Shortbows
---- 1 Studded Leather Armor
---- 70 Arrows
For a total weight of 7.3 Bulk and a list price of 245sp (not including the +1 potency rune).
Mimi walks into the smithy with her arms full and once she gets the weaponsmith's attention, drops all the weaponry she's carrying onto a table for them to see. Stepping into their modest but well-maintained home, the PCs spy in the welcoming area several large paintings depicting men riding on horses carrying wayfinders; one with rapier in hand and wide-brimmed hat decorated with feathers; another holding a crossbow and with an eagle on his shoulder; another cloaked in robes with a stone swirling about his head holding onto a scrollcase; a fourth bedecked in the robes and armor of the church and wielding a morningstar...

Whoever it is doesn't seem ready to cease their working, seemingly content to yell "Busy day, aye" comes the voice "Whaz makin' yeh think I'ma drop whut'im do and help ya?" as the clanging continues.
Blocked by the wall, Mimi's charming smile seems unable to work it's typical magic unless she can make her case...
What is the cost to transfer a rune?
...Mimi is Up!

![]() |

According to the Transferring Runes rules, it states that: The DC of the Crafting check to transfer a rune is determined by the item level of the rune being transferred, and the Price of the transfer is 10% of the rune’s Price, unless transferring from a runestone, which is free. ... It takes 1 day to transfer a rune or swap a pair of runes, ...
Dang it! I missed the it takes 1 day bit. Oh well, no potency rune for Mimi's rapier; she'll be needing it at the water works tonight. Being untrained in Crafting, Mimi is also ignorant of this minimum required time. Doubtless the blacksmith will correct her misapprehension if she can ever get him away from his forge.
I'll assume that Mimi didn't get any of her previous spiel out beyond calling out to see if anyone was there.
By the time she gets to the smithy, Mimi is thoroughly sick and tired of carrying all that weaponry. After dropping it onto the counter, she swears to herself that no matter what happens, she isn't picking them up ever again.
When the blacksmith yells at her through the door and refuses to come out, Mimi seriously considers turning and walking away, happily abandoning the cursed weapons where they lie. But she cannot in good conscience abandon the group's loot without at least giving it the old college try. She walks over to the door and tries to open it.
If the door opens, then Mimi pokes her through to add her bright smile to her words. Otherwise, she'll just yell through the door.
"I am terriblee sorree for disturbeeng you my dear blacksmith, but I 'ave a business proposal to present to you dat I believe veell result een a good profeet for both of us. I veell onlee take you avey from your forge for but a short time. I teenk you veell find eet time vell spent."
Diplomacy (Make an Impression): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Looks like Mimi's feminine wiles are failing her. Assuming that isn't enough to get the blacksmith to come out, I'll spend a Hero Point.
Diplomacy (Make an Impression): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Yeah, that's more like the Mimi I know. If that's enough to get the blacksmith to come to the front room, then she'll repeat her previous pitch.
"Good to finallee meet you een person my dear blacksmith, my neme ees Mimi de Valence. I 'ave 'erd dat you are de best veaponsmith een de city and so I 'ave come to offer you a business transaction." She points to the pile she just dropped on his table. "I 'ave brought vith me a variété of armements dat I no longer 'ave a need for. As you can see, dey are een excellente condition. Mimi beams the smithy a big smile. again!
Diplomacy (Make an Impression): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
When the blacksmith informs Mimi that transferring the rune cannot be done in less that a day, she looks a little disappointed. Realizing that there is no way to speed things up, she shrugs. "'Ow unfortunate. Veree vell den; pleeze eenclude de rune een your quote."
So adding the 350sp value of the rune, that comes to a total list value of 595sp for the lot.
