Anastasia will attempt to blind the red devil with a penetrating blindness, then move behind the wall of thorns.
@Anastasia: I'm curious about what you just did. Is this a spell? a feat? a magic item? does it allow for a save and if so, what's the DC?
PS: for ease of reference, in PbP games here on the Paizo site, most GMs like to see the stats one click away just by clicking on a character's profile; it also allows for a link to be provided in case the GM wishes to look up unusual abilities.

@Gilgrim It was a 5 foot step so no AOO and the only attack that hit was a Natural 20 so automatically hit regardless of AC.
Awesome. That was information I didn't have before. Thanks for clarifying. :)
Honestly didn't even notice the Nat 20 until you pointed it out. Clueless, sometimes. *facepalm*

@Vina I think it was a piercing (metamagic) blindness like she tried before
Noke Tiiz

Hi GM, I think you forgot to make the reflex save DC 22 for the 29 electricity damage. They were not immune based on the kn check I think.
Oh and one other question: How does the purple devil know that Noke cast the spell? Only if the purple devil can clearly identify the source of the attack would it target Noke. It could also just attack the cloud?
Have a great week everyone! :-)

That's a good feat! nice one!

Yes, sorry. Despite my expectations, it’s spell penetration and piercing spell that go together, and penetrating spell is an entirely different thing.
And my character sheet is linked in. Sure, it’s two clicks, but you can do it!
GM Erich
|
@Noke I did miss the reflex save, thanks. For the ID, the perception DC for Notice a visible creature is 0, so even with the distance modifier (probably +5 for distraction too) it's perception modifier is high enough (and it's smart enough to put 2 and 2 together) that it could notice your spellcasting right before the thundercloud appeared.

Vina, sorry for bothering. Tryin to be a bit rules lawyer.
Asmodean advocate should play at devil's side, you know ^))
I also noticed a large skull there and Lakadee's climd speed, so already imagined how he use it as an additional platform to rise higher.

The skulls are on the ground, surrounding a pit. Lakadee is 20 feet up into the sky: he has air walk like the rest of the party, including you. This is why I made 30-foot tall towers: so that you guys could still have concealment if you decide to move up. Stop working for the devils: in this fight you're with us. LOL

I owed it to everyone after placing it on the main map, I thought... I was even beginning to lose track of the heights a few seconds after I laid it down... :)

As a first approximation, you can estimate 60 over and 30 up as the long number plus half the short number, in this case, 60+15 =75
If you use Pythagoras, and then convert to 5ft increments, it’s more math, and 70ft. So, fairly close, I’d say.

I really like this scenario!! :-)

Using Zarta wisely is key, it is hard to get all the information and leads with the just the party. I heard it usually takes 6-8 hours in live play.

I can totally imagine that. So complicated! Still very glad about the notes! Thanks Vina!!!

I agree, that looks like great scenario. I've being wanted to adventure it with Morgoth for a long time. And pbp format feels realy suitable.
Anastasia the good witch

As an aside, if you have good ideas for 11th level feats for Anastasia, please message me. I haven’t found one I like yet.
Vina Sitha

Spell Penetration is never wasted for characters who are casting spells directly on enemies. If you do a lot of ranged touch attacks, Point-Blank Shot and Precise Shot are classic blaster caster tools.
If you're kinda stuck and really don't know, Additional Traits feat can lead to all kind of cool stuff...
Noke Tiiz
|
Totally agree on spell penetration.
Vina Sitha

This is also going to be a weird philosophical suggestion, but at level 11, your character is usually about to retire. Unless you're lucky enough to find a few Seeker level games, level 11 is pretty much your last level. So think what kind of character you want Anastasia to be. What is she about? then pick the feat that more closely aligns with your vision.
If that feat has other feats as prereq, THIS is the time for retraining, as you've reached pretty much your last level anyhow.

I’m not sure we should just give someone’s soul away.

GM, just one question. This is the first time in this scenario that we could exchange a dark bargain for GP. Do these bargains have such a mechanic?
GM Erich
|
Dark bargains are used as currency in Hell so they do represent a monetary amount. The worse the loss the more the amount it is worth to a devil (and the higher the cost to remove the bargain at a later time). In general: Soul > Power > Hope > Emotions > Fate. You get the sense, if you were to talk to merchants in the Market, that the values range between 2500-7500 gp.
Anastasia the good witch

I like option 1. What do you all think?
Gilgrim Flintmaul

If we have a means of helping out the trapped Hellknights, Gilgrim would be all about doing that.
Anastasia the good witch

Can you repost the pic, please?
Gilgrim Flintmaul

It's in the Handouts link.
GM Erich

Two to go free the Hellknights at the ghetto, one to stay and try to present evidence to Rowane. What say the rest of you?
Vina Sitha

Hellknights at the ghetto please. We just got to be more careful than last time. Anyone has some invisibility or some other shennanigans like terrain illusions?
Morgoth Mobray

I've got some illusion spells. We are still under effect of False Vision and I can change what possible observer gonna see. And I can provide self-invisibility.

This scenario is so great!! Really love it!
Gilgrim Flintmaul

I just think that it's awesome (and hilarious!) how we somehow got a lawyer in the group. :D
Morgoth Mobray

Yeah.
Morgoth prepared for such whole life. This scenario is so suitable for him.
This case solving will rise his career towards new lines.
I am experiencing tons of fun here, honestly.

I’m glad you’re all having a great time.
Morgoth Mobray

Oh. Couple ridiculous auto fills at the last post. Sorry.
Stan, do not waste Good Hope for Bess :)
Noke Tiiz
|
Sorry for the fort instead of Will save. Mind blank there. :/
GM Erich
|
One vote west and one vote south, so far.
Bess will head out to find Leventi.
Still need poison saves for Noke's creatures.
Vina Sitha
|
Voting we go south.
Noke Tiiz
|
Shouldn’t we stay together? or is there a reason you guys stayed begind?
Morgoth Mobray
|
Not sure if visting this small room gonna be convenient for the whole team. And also enemy's are unlikely. But area traps - are.
But in-game, Morgoth just doing his own business and probably will be a bit inadequate and angry after losing Aroden.
Noke Tiiz
|
Okay.
Noke Tiiz
|
Anyone else joining Noke? :-) Still all alone in there at the moment.
Anastasia the good witch

Can I use my shirt reroll? It’s Cheliax, so it even fits the mod. ; )
If yes, here we go:
New value for d20 1d20 ⇒ 12

Fits the roll? :-?

@GM: I don't quite understand... did the Cure Critical have any effect on the haunt or not?
Noke Tiiz
|
I think it wasn’t necessary to destroy the pit fiend.
Stan -Paladin of Erastil
|
My guess is that it wasn't really a Pit Fiend, but actually the manifestation of the Haunt. I noticed in the first round, the Pit Fiend had exactly as much damage as we had applied to the Haunt. So damage to the Haunt got applied to the Pit Fiend. That was why the Pit Fiend didn't worry about Gilgrim flanking. I suspect it wasn't the physical damage that got rid of the Pit Fiend, but actually the damage to the Haunt dismissed it.
Noke Tiiz
|
I was wondering why so little damage destroyed it. :-/
