Please read the warnings below!
This scenario is likely different from what you’ve experienced in past Starfinder adventures. You should all know that this scenario is not fair. You need to trust the other players at this table and accept their actions as well as your choices could have consequences for your character. Additionally, this adventure has strong themes of quarantine and contagion. It is up to you—the player—to decide if this is a game for you. Be aware that there will be consequences for your character.
There is one final rule and this is a very important one: you cannot tell anyone else about what your character experiences during this scenario at all. Give other players a chance to enjoy this experience with fresh eyes. (This is from Paizo)
Players and GMs can only ever receive credit for this adventure once. Due to the unique nature of this scenario, a player can never replay this scenario under any circumstances.

Gustav, Robot Repairman |
I'm waiting to see if one of my characters will wrap up an adventure he's currently on before the start date of Outpost IV. I have a plan B and a plan C should he not work out. I'll also take into consideration what the GM wrote above in choosing a character.

Well, I've levelled up to level 4 now. Maybe a little less squishy.
I've got some purchases required as well.
Syneptic accelerator (DEX) 1400
Diasporan rifle, advanced 3750
Though I'm wondering if I should find something that helps against diseases.
Gamuzali |
Sounds like a healer could be useful, but play what would be most fun for you!
Dr. Creed Morvius |
We'll be going with Dr. Morvius for this one. I'll be updating him online soon, as he is now Envoy 3/Biohacker 2.
Dr. Morvius can do some healing (though not as good as most mystics), so it may be possible for Twich to stay on board with his Technomancer.
GM Tyranius |
We will begin at Midnight GMT which will be around 6-7 Central tonight, depending on how well supper for the kids goes.
Gamuzali |
Looking forward to it!
In the meantime, I wanted to leave a note (for myself as much as the table) that I have the Possessed Augmentation personal boon on Gamuzali. He has a prosthetic on his right arm, so he'll take a -1 on all initiative checks and on attack rolls with his solar weapon. For this scenario, given that it sounds like it's going to be intense, I'll hope to fulfill the first task and see if I can score a crit.
limb to replace one lost in a prior accident. You acquired the limb under dubious circumstances, and it’s never worked right
since you got it. The Society performed a magical scan of the augmentation, which revealed a spirit stuck within the limb
that was somehow bound to the augmentation prior to its installation. A capricious presence survives within the limb, its
exact background and nature something you can determine.
Benefit: You gain a free prosthetic limb to replace a limb you’d previously lost during the course of an adventure.
Otherwise, you can start a new character with this free prosthetic limb already attached. You must slot this boon after
acquiring this possessed limb. While this boon is slotted, you suffer from the penalty listed below, depending on which
limb was replaced. This penalty lasts until you either complete the tasks listed below, remove the affected limb, or pay to
have a new replacement limb installed. If you replace the limb, then you can cross this boon off the sheet.
Once per scenario, you can attempt to fulfill one of the associated tasks in any order, though the final task must be
performed last. Once you have completed all of the associated tasks, you have reached an accord with the spirit within the
limb, no longer suffer its penalty, and gain the listed benefit.
Penalty (Arm or Hand): The arm or hand twitches sporadically under the most strenuous circumstances. You take
a –1 penalty to all Initiative checks and a –1 penalty to attack rolls with weapons that use that limb.
Penalty (Leg or Foot): Your leg constantly seizes, reducing your base land speed by 5 feet (to a minimum of 5 feet),
and you take a –1 penalty to all Reflex saves.
▫ Task: If you’re using the arm or hand prosthetic, you must deal a critical hit with a weapon wielded with your
possessed augmentation against a significant foe. If you’re using the leg or foot prosthetic, you must exceed the DC
of a Reflex save by 3 or more from an effect created by a significant hazard or enemy. Doing so shows the spirit that
you’re willing to persevere, despite the annoyance caused by its manifestations.
▫ Task: You can humble the spirit within the prosthetic by showing you that its actions won’t stop you from
persevering. You must spend the entire adventure not fighting the limb. This doubles the penalties listed above for
the duration of the scenario.

I'll use a boon for some good armour.
I'll also spend 4pp on the enhanced champion boon for Exo-guardians.
How are we for medicines, should I buy some?
I'm thinking of also buying a thermal capacitor. That fire/cold resistance is handy.
Ratatat |
I assume everyone should pick up some meds. Ratatat already has a serum of healing mk 1 and an antitoxin tier 1 but will buy the following...
Ratatat's purchases:
Total spent: 1900 cr
(the above not yet noted in my character sheet)
Ratatat's slotted boons:
If others have more suggestions on prudent equipment to buy, I may add to the above list as well...
Gamuzali |
Boons
Faction: Exo-guardians Champion, Improved
Ally: Commander Najiri's Respect
Social: Pact Worlds Defender
Personal: Possessed Augmentation (right arm)
Slotless: Starfinder Insignia
Purchases
Serum of healing, mk 2: 2x 425 = 850
Antitoxin, tier 2: 450
2x Antibiotic, tier 1: 2x 150 = 300
2x Antiemetic, Tier 1: 2x 75 = 150
2x Counteractant, Tier 1: 2x 150 = 300
Antitoxin Membrane augmentation: 3000
Total spent: 5050cr
Also, could we clarify whether the bonus from medicinals is in fact untyped? Just want to check if that will stack with the circumstance bonus from my antitoxin membrane.
GM Tyranius |
It looks to stack as they have different bonuses and affect slightly different things depending on what medicinal you take at the time.
Shokil |
Purchases:
Synaptic accelerator +2 dex. 1400
Diasporan rifle, advanced, 3750

Dr. Creed Morvius |
Dr. Morvius has confirmed that he has the fame available to be recovered and raised from the dead should that prove necessary.
He will also purchase the Respiration Compounder (250)
and
Regenerative blood, Mk. 1 (3,250, 2,925 with discount).
He will purchase the following boon: Personal Mentor for 3 fame.
Ally: Personal Mentor (body recovery only costs 1 fame)

Shokil |
Actually, I'll hold off getting the improved champion boon for Exo-guardians, that way I'll have enough for body recovery as well as the raise dead.
Ratatat |
Oh right, I forgot to call out my t-shirt promotional boon as well!
Promotional: IPA Goblin t-shirt re-roll
Shokil |
Oh, I have one of them too!

GM Tyranius |
There is a map at the top of the page. Please place your tokens in your marching orders.
Looks like we are high tier with an APL of 4.8. So playing Tier 5-6
GM Tyranius |
Also if you could all send me or post your Discord ID's. I would like to start a small chat group for some of the discussion with future decisions. Try and keep what we can as secretive as possible.
Shokil |
I don't have one. Though I could probably make one if required.
GM Tyranius |
Not necessarily mandatory but if you wouldn't mind. Paizo is trying to keep this as secretive as possible.
Shokil |
Actually I do have one. aerondor@hotmail.com (aerondor)
Ratatat |
Apologies, forgot to mention I'm out of town so my posting is a bit inconsistent and brief for now. But back soon!!
GM Tyranius |
No boons other than faction for Delea, since we haven't been told about any connections to social boons.
Yup, this is all it has. This scenario doesn’t require you to choose any Starship boons. Encourage the players to prepare boons that could assist with their recovery and resurrection.
Actually I do have one. aerondor@hotmail.com (aerondor)
Aerondor- Usually a discord ID is what you handle is you set it to followed by # and four numbers. Such as mine is Tyranius#2300
Apologies, forgot to mention I'm out of town so my posting is a bit inconsistent and brief for now. But back soon!!
All good. Thanks for letting me know.
Shokil |
Ahh #1924
Shokil |
Did you end up using discord at all?
Gamuzali |
Well, I'm glad that Combat Expertise roll was so good, and the attack is a likely hit as well. Mildly annoyed that I wasted that nat 20 on the expertise, though, since I need to get a crit with my meteor claw to try and get rid of this dang possession on my claw! Oh well...this is a target rich fight. Hopefully I'll get lucky somewhere in there.
GM Tyranius |
Dr. Morvius- How are you using your dart to stop the bleeding?
Zargothrax McDonald |
I think he's using a minor booster to provide first aid.
Dr. Creed Morvius |
Yes. Sorry.
It's a minor biohack to perform first aid at anyone within range of his custom microlab (which can stop bleeding). It's normally DC 15, and Dr. Morvius can't miss this.
Ratatat |
So just trying to piece things together:
Data log 1
“We’re departing to investigate a set of ruins believed to be related to the clergy of Urgathoa in a nearby star system. The mission looks like it should be a standard land and investigate situation. Looking forward to returning to Absalom Station after this latest assignment.”
Data log 2
“Emergency report. We’re taking all the medical supplies that we can; including the serums and spell gems. We think we can heal Tebs before we return to the Lorespire, but if not… we need to try. We haven’t told anyone about what happened. We didn’t have time to come down and return, so we brought Tebs with us to administer the medicinal items. Here’s hoping that it’s enough.”
Data log 3
"Infiltration team successful. We’ve followed First Seeker Lezosk’s orders and installed the device in the old storage hangar. Following that, we terminated the Starfinders involved with the initial infection who’d been acting as our guides within the colony. We’ve left an encoded report here in case we encounter trouble on the return to Absalom Station.
Other
It appears that the Starfinders left behind a deadly pathogen that killed an entire population center on an asteroid trade colony. The colonists linger on as undead, as does a deadly mutation of the plague that killed them.
----------
I'm guessing data log 1 and 2 are from the same group. A team is going to investigate some ruins then return to Absalom. So I guess this team isn't based at the colony. So maybe they came to the colony the same way we did and then took off from this colony to a nearby star system to investigate? Not sure if this team are Starfinders or not.
Data log 2 indicates something went wrong and Tebs is infected. Not sure what the source of the disease is. No "time to come down and return" doesn't make sense to me. Come down from where and return to where? Brought Tebs to administer medicine where?
Data log 3 is some other team. I don't know if they are referring to themselves as the infiltration team or referring to a previous team that was an infiltration team. Regardless, this team put something in the hanger - who knows what. This team also killed starfinders who were involved with the disease infection, some starfinders who were apparently friendly to this team.
"Other" indicates that Starfinders basically left the colony to die, high and dry.
----------
Possible interpretation:
I suppose maybe Starfinder team 1 wrote data log 1 and 2. They went exploring, Tebs contracted a disease and it was bad. They asked Starfinder HQ for relief.
Starfinder HQ decided to cover it up so sent Starfinder team 2 (the "infiltration team"?) gathered information from Starfinder team 1, then killed team 1 and let the disease run rampant throughout the colony.
I don't know what the device in the hanger is and don't know what the Starfinder higher ups are trying to cover up. Why let everyone die instead of just curing the disease or at least quarantining / evacuating people?
Delea |
The thing left in the hanger is probably the device that brings us here and home?
I think the no time for Tebs thing is with leaving him on the ship that brought them here. Could Tebs have been the one who was infected with the thing that made undead?
Gamuzali |
Yeah, my interpretation is that the disease came from the Urgathoan temple. While exploring the complex, Tebs was infected and was in critical condition, so the rest of the team decided they could not wait long enough to come back to the base on this colony to retrieve medical supplies then return to the planet where the ruins were located, so instead they brought Tebs to be treated at the colony.
At some point, FS Lezosk sent an infiltration team to plant some sort of device and to eliminate the team responsible for bringing the infection with them to the colony.
I agree with Delea's guess that the device is somehow connected to the Perplexity. The device somehow creates a portal through space and time that transports us here.
------
Next steps: I think we need to encourage KANT and their crew to return to their refuge on the other side of the asteroid and gather their stuff to prepare for an evacuation with us. Meanwhile, we should seek out the hooded figure and see how they're connected to all of this.
Shokil |
Agree with source of disease.
The "come down" reminds me of the descent we made at the beginning from the Lorespire complex. And they talk about returning to Lorespire, not to Absalom station, which also makes me think the portal.
It could be read as a spaceship though.
As for the robot folk. Depends on how big the asteroid is. We only have a limited time, remember.
Zargothrax McDonald |
So uh... if one of us were to stay with the SRO's back at their colony would that mean dead PC or just a body recovery? I think if we can't evac the whole lot we need to get one of them back to lorespire to advocate for the rest, and the other to prepare the rest for extraction whenever it becomes possible. Or possibly return as many as possible and have Zargothrax undertake a 1 year mission here.
Shokil |
I just noticed, it doesn't look like my rest back before the lodge came through in our status bars. I still show full rp and slightly down in sp.
I gota pay more attention to details. Tail end of OP must be getting to me.
Ratatat |
I'll be travelling over the next several days until April 4. So there's a chance my posting will be slow and/or brief. If I end up slow, please feel free to bot me.
Ratatat will generally full round attack things when he can and quip whenever he comes up with something witty enough. And if not, then he'll just fall back on yelling: RATATATATATAT!!!
Unlike an onion, he doesn't have many layers - he's not a very complicated ysoki.
Gamuzali |
Yeah, I definitely screwed up by not declaring a rest after that fight at the lodge. Oh well. Pharasma claims us all in the end, right?
