[spoiler=Kaydee and Mal]"Rightio then, we're staying at the hotel, Kindred floor. At some point, I'll get myself a new house or two, but at the moment... well you know where to find us. C'mon Mal, let's go see how nice our rooms are." Vinny fades momentarily back into existence, taking refuge in a dark alley, before once again obscuring himself.

Sorry for the radio silence .. I have had a couple of very long work days...
"To be honest, at this point, I do not recall the Prince of Boston's clan. Boston is a bit of a confused blur."
"The punic wars certainly sound old, but that seems an excessive amount of time to hold a grudge..."
"This whole clan vs clanless seems like simple racism with a different color of paint."
"It will be nice to have an ally, even if one that cannot be openly allied."
"I am not sure I want to be associated with the Brujah if they are going to embroil me in an ancient feud."

Mal nods amiably. He's not very used to going to bed before sunup, but, given that he's also not used to experiencing a fiery and awful permadeath, he judges it prudent to get indoors with time to spare.
"Yeah, good idea. I hope they don't have bed bugs. I -hate- that.
So you want a house, huh? Did I ever tell you that it's my dream to run a farm? I think a dairy farm would be nice. The cows mostly take care of themselves...."
Having Vinny go shadow so much is starting to make him miss doing it. Ah, well, the way things are going there'll be plenty of chances to trip the light darktastic enough.

Agreed, I am sure that further grudges took place but that's from what I understand where it all started but then I've never sat down and discussed the matter with a Brujah not that my Sire's discussion was some sort of lecture on the topic, more of a passing comment when I inquired as to the distaste.
I agree, even clan versus clan is the same thing. We are not quite so inhuman as the Elders would like to think. Well in the Camarilla anyway. In the Sabbat who knows, they're supposed to be savages...
Of course. We can use all the allies we can get. I cannot say that in the future I would not want something for my assistance but goodwill at the beginning of a relationship goes a long way I have found".
Kent pauses at the last comment and shrugs, "Who's to say engaging with another Clan would not place you into a different feud? This existence is one that is difficult to get through alone. There must be someone who will stand for you and the Brujah or perhaps the Gangrel would be the most likely to aid the Clanless, openly at any rate. Maybe Malkavians but their thinking is alien so who can know what their motivations may be.
At any rate, we are almost there. I will sleep in the bathtub with a sheet over me, Freddy will move the mattress into the bathroom floor. We'll lock the door and lights out for sleep. No windows at the motel and with a do not disturb sign on the door and Freddy in the room proper killing time watching TV we will be left alone to rest in peace".

Assuming they get to the hotel without incident...
Vinny invites Mal to join him in his room for a few minutes so they can discuss what just happened. Once inside, Vinny drops the happy act, and begins swearing, violently and loudly, while searching the room for listening devices.

"Well, that went well, eh Mal? Ya really got me into a fine pickle. 'Course I don't blame ya, I blame that Thorn bint. And whoever drugged you. Something's afoot here, and I don't like it. Way I see it; an elder goes missing they're either hidin' got nabbed by the sabbat, somehow ran afoul of some vamp hunters, or got eaten by some upcoming young squirt. In any of those cases, we're gonna need some additional firepower, I'll bankroll ya if you need it."

With Dawn approaching, Lauren knows she must rest soon, and moves to speak with the newly-waking Madame Esmerelda before she does. "Madame Esmerelda, have you noticed anything strange since we have arrived?"
| "Vinny" |
Mal: Nice guy. Seems a bit naïve, but I like him. If I can help him out of this mess, he'll owe me, and that's worth something.
Sadie: An unknown. Possibly an informant to Lady Thorn? Some relation there. Civil with a flirty nosferatu, so all things considered a possible ally, or someone who's really committed to their bit.
Lady Thorn: Goes from 0 to 100 really fast. Felt the need to lead with a threat instead of compromise. Seeking guidance for the future regarding how much I'm allowed to f%@* with her, IE, is she an ally of yours?

"People are staring off into nothing, and seem to snap out of it when approached. Like some kind of hypnotism. I don't know if it's happening all at once or what, but if you see anything strange, please let me know."
"I have to sleep soon, I'm meeting a Princess tonight. Perhaps she knows what is happening here..."

One blood deducted for waking this evening.
Michael awakens for the evening, washes his face and gets dressed. He exits his quarters and almost absent-mindedly says, "Good evening, Traikoff." knowing full and well the gargoyle would hear him even if he was particularly near by.
Michael then heads for the study where he was introduced to Regent Weston. "Traikoff, do you know if the Regent is in this evening? Or perhaps more importantly, if he requires anything of me this evening?"

"Well my friend, if you cannot find another location I suppose one more night spent in the same haven would do.
Meet me outside the Art Institute by 3 am if you need to come back here once more, we will wait approximately 30 minutes for you. If you do not arrive I will assume you have fund other lodgings. Is this agreeable?"
Marked off the BP.

Kaydee wakes up and takes a shower. As the warm water runs over her body, she feels a dull ache from somewhere deeper than her stomach. The urge is still weak... but when people disappear, generally somebody doesn't want them found. And sometimes that somebody wants to fight about it. Definitely want a cool head if that happens. She gets dressed, does her makeup, and heads out to grab a bite to eat.

After taking in the beauty of the hanging garden Kent begins to examine the books behind the glass, with his eyes only of course careful not to disturb anything as it is encased in glass for a reason no doubt.

"Very well, Traikoff. Thank you. I think I shall pay a visit to Alary's this evening, in case the Regent asks, especially since I have not been introduced in this city as of yet."
With that Michael grabs his jacket and heads out for Alary's.

Kent nods respectfully, "Thank you for your hospitality Mr. Brule. I appreciate the invitation.
Your home is quite breathtaking, well I suppose not breathing that is not an entirely accurate statement, regardless its beauty is remarkable.
Are you actually fluent in more than a dozen languages as your library indicates?"
He waits for a gesture to seat from the Elder before sitting himself around a fireplace which could likely spell his doom should the Elder desire to throw him in!
Kent looks up at the stars, "Are they the same as when you first stepped foot in this land or have some come and gone?"

"Oh, aye, tha Sabbat be all savages, tha Brujah be all crass and vulgar, and tha Caitiff be all untrustworthy rebels. No people be all one thing, Kent, an' its a truth I do feel in my bones, so I do."
Sean lays one finger along the side of his nose with a wink, "That do be tha way of it, Kent. Among allies, friends, or business partners. A favor given now is returned to tha giver later. Or to be put another way, an' I'll tell ye, "Mura garda mo lann do chúl, cé a dhéanfaidh mo chosaint ansin? If me blade guards not yer back, whose then shall guard mine?"
"An ye've perhaps tha right o' that, Kent. One feud may be much like another, but it still seems ta me that I be walking blindfolded into a cow byre, never knowin' when the next step will be all s+~@e."
As they feel the onset of the sun-caused lethargy, Sean mutters quietly in Irish, giving no translation for his words.
Sean slings his duffel and messenger bag over his shoulder and strides off into the growing dark, looking for a pay phone and a bite.

Kent nods, "I see, an interesting analogy. And one that does captivate my imagination! What it must be like to be a Kindred who lived in the height of Egyptian dynasties or earlier and still walk among us. That art not an echo but an unliving memory in their minds.
I suppose the modern world and its artificial lights dims our perception as well. Though I certainly see the stars better now than I did as a Mortal I wonder if our connection to the sun is more metaphysical.
After all, if the light of the Sun destroys us why do the distant rays of what are supposed to be 1,000 times 1,000 suns have no effect on our kind at all?
But I suppose we are not here to wax philosophical but instead to trade tales. As the Elder, it is only proper that you should choose who between us should speak first".
