Alary's in the parking lot:

Mal, Vinny, Kaydee:
Bill looks back at you as the door closes and says so most places will be closed this late and you might need somebody who can do that, or as you said you can get permission to ghoul from the Princess tomorrow and get a farm for free. Anybody you call at this time is in somebody's pocket, get me?

old Ben:
You get inside and there are two Nosferatu there and another guy who is leaving

13th Generation Nosferatu Bloodpool 7/10 | Willpower 5/5

"I think we'd like a place outside of the local politics of the area, ifin you get my drift." Vinny shakes his head at Mal's ridiculous accent. "A place that we don't owe to anyone, you get me?"

Vinny, Mal, and Kaydee:

Bill scratches his chin and says you can only go so far out of the city before you hit the Ring of Gold, the line agreed to in the treaty between our kind and the werewolves. So you can get a farm still in Forest Lake before county road J which is north of St Paul or you can get a farm at the edge of Bloomington which is south of Minneapolis. The problem is everything is inside the Ring of Gold which makes alot of resources tied up. Tell you what, how about give me to tomorrow and I will see what I can come up with for you and we can have it between friends me and you? Give me a ten percent finder's fee?

Gangrel 8th gen Blood: 10/15 Will: 5/5

ST:
Ben sits at the bar and looks around, still highly confused about all the nosferatu just being out and about. Too much of the outsider on him.

Old Ben:
the lady at the bar waves you in with an inviting smile and says something I can do for you?

Caitiff 8th gen Blood: 14/15 Will: 6/6

Mateo:
Sean gives Mateo a wry smile, "Aye, that do be just the thing, does it no? If history serves as any example, I do no be very successful at impressing Princes of cities. Perhaps I will have better luck wi' this Princess, knowin' as I do a wee bit more o' how ta conduct meself when meetin' her."

After a short pause, he continuese, "As for permission ta make a ghoul, I am aware o' what a ghoul is, but I do no know how they are made. Be it as simple as convincin' a mortal to drink me blood?"

Sean:
Mateo says you got to do it three nights in a row and then yeah they yours

Mal, Vinny, Kaydee:

Spoiler:
After talking to Bill you are able to find a real estate agent after sitting at a pay phone for a few hours and secure a farm inside the treaty area either north of St Paul or south of Minneapolis (dealers choice). Kaydee you return to your friends but find her not there and wait for her arrival which is late. She and you have a conversation

Old Ben:

Spoiler:
you have a discussion with the Nosferatu who is willing to teach you animalism for a future debt and will start teaching you after the meeting tomorrow

Sean and Kent:

Spoiler:
You finish your conversation with Matteo and you depart and meet with Kent for a conversation at the end of the night to be had at convenience at a later time

The night ends for all and the dawn arises and then once more the sun sets at about 7:30 pm at night leaving you all a few hours prior to the meeting.

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent and Sean:
Kent wakes, feeling ever more depleted. Now though, that he will be introduced, the chance to feed shall finally arrive and with hi owing nothing more to any Kindred than was absolutely necessary.

"I trust I shall see you at the introductions tonight Sean?"

"Remember, if you seek assistance from me, it is best that we make such an arrangement a private affair between we two".

Kent:
Kent and Freddy head to Kelly's per instructions from the Elder of Clan Ventrue so that Kelly can safely navigate him to the Princess' domain.

Old Ben:
you wake once more at como Zoo after making a deal with the Nosferatu to learn animalism in return for a future favor. It is the night o the meeting and you are supposed to link up with Janice in several hours but are free until then. What do you do?

Kent:
You arrive at Kelly's ahead of time with plenty of time to spare. Anything you would like to do?

Shawn:
You made the deal with Mateo and made it back to the hotel and you have time to make a deal with Kent or not before the meeting this Eve as well as do something else I'd you like?

Kaydee:
Mal and Vinny get dropped off separate and you go to your friends to stay with visions of zombies and meeting the coroner. You wake up and have a few hours prior to the meeting

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent:
The Ventrue makes sure he is presentable and advises Freddy that he cannot attend for the evening but should follow behind Kelly just in case he needs to make a quick exit.

Then he will enter and look for Kelly, awaiting with anticipation the chance to meet the full Court, and then, quite frankly, go feed!

Kent:

Kelly meets you and leaves his red headed and beautiful wife in charge of the bar. He is a huge scraggly looking guy with hands as big as your face so you wonder how he got so lucky. He comes out and has you hop into a limo with very well tinted windows and you drive down town St Paul and pick up Mr McNeely at the St Paul hotel where e comes out wearing a very nice suit. McNeely gets into the car and says I should be able to have you a good house for yourself and a place with your family business in the next few days if you are still interested of course.

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent nods at the Elder, "Good evening Primogen McNeely.

Yes, I am indeed very much still interested in the offer. I appreciate your good will.

Tell me, are there a large influx of Cainites? I have had a brief encounter with a Caitiff who appears to be requesting permission to stay. Is the Princess likely yo accept an appeal from one so... downtrodden?"

Sorry for the delay, RL got a bit hectic there!

Gangrel 8th gen Blood: 10/15 Will: 5/5

ST:
No plans, just making sure to be early incase something comes up.

Old Ben:
Old Ben gets up early to find Janice and she allows him to feed on a couple of her herd at the beginning of the evening. At about 10pm she grabs you and begins leading you to Harriet Island by bringing you in her car.

Kent:
I have heard of several new canites in the city but have not met any as of yet. I am sure we will take measure of them this eve McNeely says with a hint of sarcasm in the word measure.

Gangrel 8th gen Blood: 10/15 Will: 5/5

ST:
No plans pre 10pm.

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent:
"Indeed Elder. Are there any I should specifically avoid or be wary of who dwell within the city currently?

Aside from the Grim Reaper of course.

I met the ah, Brujah Elder just the other night, a rather unpleasant and churlish fellow".

Kent:
this is a long story but prior to my arrival and the treaty of the Ring of Gold when Etienne was Prince in Duluth, Dunbar Douglas of our clan and represented from England under Mithras orders destroyed the fur trade for a particular company which our friend the Brujah elder was supporting and while it was a victory for Dunbar he lost his place in Duluth as primogen due to our Brujah friend and the former prince Etienne Brule. After Etienne disappeared and Harriet became Princess I came and took primogen of the new cities as a favor to Dunbar. Dunbar now has overstayed his welcome in Duluth for some time as a thorn in the Brujah foot and a reminder that they lost. With my support Dunbar has quietly been gathering support in the cities against our friends interests in a lateral attack that will be occuring while we all sit in court as Dunbar is granted rights over the Minneapolis police which up until recently were controlled by Gangrel interests, but the sheriff and I came to a lucrative understanding.

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent:
Kent nods in understanding, "Is this a move designed merely to weaken the Brujah or to goad him into a foolish overreaction, or both?

Seems to me one of his henchmen wanted to strike me, right inside of Elysium! Just for speaking mind you.

Poor etiquette to be sure, but the Brujah Elder waived him off. The Brujah Camarilla here seem even more aggressive than the Brujah Anarchs of Gary".

Old Ben:
You drive into down town St Paul past University avenue and along Robert Street and across the River to Plato Blvd eventually you come to a dead end saying Harriet Park parking and you see some steam boats and a bridge to an island and Janice says we will be boarding the steam boat in about an hour

Kent:
very well Kent, it is not so much crude behavior but ancients moving pieces in a colonial frontier to extend support and power. This story starts in ancient Greece between Menelaus and Helen of Troy his wife, indeed the most beautiful of women for whom a thousand ships sailed. Greater then the invasion of Normandy a force which the world has not seen again. Paris was spoken to by the Goddess Aphrodite whom he chose over Pallis Athena and another... The other had a secret son with Priam's wife and Paris older Brother named Hector, the Horselord. Sound familiar? Now take those names and call them Mithras the ancient pagan Ventrue, Helene the Toreador who was stolen by the permission of Mithras from Menelaus, methuselah of the Brujah. You are now a small part of an ancient myth told to your ancestors around campfires Kent.

Triel:
William Mcgillivray sent a letter to you from Duluth Minnesota inviting you to St Paul and Minneapolis on January 3rd to meet with him prior to the Harriet Island Quarterly meeting at the Paddleford steam ship (with the large paddle wheel)which is one of four meetings each year for kindred to introduce themselves to Minneapolis. He has told you to be at Harriet Island at 11pm and sent you a formal signed invitation to the party

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent:
Kent can not hide his eyebrows raising at the tale, "Certainly I have heard that myth before.

I did not suspect that it had any true meaning other than that of a story.

If true, how do the Toreador fit into this rivalry? Is their enmity for the Ventrue or the Brujah?"

Kent:
some say that Helene was a mortal and a ghoul at the time, others say she instigated the whole thing as a Toreador to weaken both clans and set them against one another. There are alot of theories. Etienne may know more as it is his clan. I have seen here Critas who is Menelaus childer and whom is active near here, Helene is the justicar of the Toreador, and Mithras the Prince of London, but do not consider any of their positions to be weaker or underestimate any of these ancients. You have asked more questions out loud about the topic then many do. Be careful how and who you ask moving forward the light of the streets fall and flash across the primogens face as you arrive at the parking to Harriet Park, and near by the Paddleford steam ship gleams in the night on the tide of the Mississippi.

Triel:

Triel took a moment to appreciate the steam ship from afar with a smile - she hadn't seen one of those in a very long time indeed.

"No point in standing around here thinking about it" - she spoke to herself - "Lets just get this done" - and pressed on toward the main entrance, the long trench coat catching a bit of the breeze as she got closer - "Triel Carter" - she introduced herself to the ones at the door.

Triel:
the man at the door has a military look to him and appears to be mortal and he is holding a list and takes a look at it and says Welcome to St. Paul Ms. Carter, please enjoy the evening and remember this is Elysium for the night so please follow those rules. the man ushers you through some thick brocade velvet curtains with gold sash and ties the likes of which again you have not seen since the eighteen hundreds and you find yourself on a two deck working steam ship. You can feel the engine below humming and hear the coal burning in the engines. All of the lighting is candle light in lanterns and candlabras courage roll please, dc 7

Triel:

"Sir, yes sir" - she winks, and flashes a disarming smile to the man at the door - "Will do"

I assume we are required to leave any weapons outside, yes? I did not add it yet to Triel's character, but was aiming at having two desert eagles .50, brass knuckles, probably a light vest and also a melee weapon - a machete or an actual sword. She would have left these in the trunk of her car of course :D

Courage: 5d10 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 9, 1) = 20

Not 100% sure what botch system we are using :D Triel can use her Lucky merit to re-roll one of those 1s if needed?.

Triel:
each one removes a success so you have a botch there and lucky is a good idea, and yes the weapons stay at the door in a lock box

Triel:

Wow... What a way to start...

Re-roll: 1d10 ⇒ 9

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent:
"Understood Primogen. I shall be discreet if I discuss such ideas at all. The tale does make me wonder..."

Kent gives his head a firm shake, "Now is not the time, perhaps another night we can discuss the past. For now, I shall follow your lead Elder". He bows graciously and deferentially but not in a way that would invite the thought of cravenness to an observer.

Kent and Triel at the same place and time (Triel a bit earlier)

the man at the door has a military look to him and appears to be mortal and he is holding a list and takes a look at it and says Welcome to St. Paul Ms. Carter, please enjoy the evening and remember this is Elysium for the night so please follow those rules. the man ushers you through some thick brocade velvet curtains with gold sash and ties the likes of which again you have not seen since the eighteen hundreds and you find yourself on a two deck working steam ship. When Kent and Mr. McNeely arrives he greets McNeely first and then when told Kent's name gives him the same greeting as above and allows you both in after any weapons are checked at the door.

Old Ben:
you are brought inti the Paddleford steamboat prior to ten thirty and are sitting on the second floor in a private cabin at the back opposite the stairs up to the bridge at the front of the second floor which is a ballroom with a throne set in it and tables with cards marking each clans symbol. All the Gangrel clan is in the room.

Princess Harriet Lovejoy, Janice Jones, Keeper of Elysium, Joshua Grant Sourge, Andrew Garceau Primogen, Francis Erdman and John Marshal

Triel wanders around the area, managing somehow to subsume the unnatural fear of fire, and maintain her composure - "Whomever had this genius idea must like to see the shit hitting the fan" - she chuckles to herself.

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent looks at the open flames, small as they are, and shrugs, "Indeed, something not seen everyday any longer".

He looks about the room to see who is present besides himself and the Primogen of course. Spotting Triel he nods to her respectfully.

5d10 ⇒ (10, 6, 10, 10, 3) = 39

Elysium, Harriet Island

Kindred begin arriving in ones and twos and sitting at their clan tables or standing and speaking to one another.

There is about thirty minutes of time to talk to arrivals until Elysium officially starts.

The Sheriff Matheson arrives first alone. The military man let's the sheriff pass without search nor checking the list. He is wearing sheriff body armor and carrying firearms openly. He has dark brown hair with silvering streaks and storm steel colored eyes and theore you look at him it is hard to tell if he is mortal or kindred.

Right after this Aaron Rinkler and Bob "The Cabbie" arrive. When they enter their masks fall away to reveal Nosferatu. Aaron is wearing a suit and tie and Mr. McNeely nods to him when he enters and tells Kent quietly That is the Nosferatu Primogen and head engineer of public works in Minneapolis, Aaron Rinkler, and with him Bob the cabbie, two of the best information brokers in the cities.

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

Kent nods to the Primogen. He has questions but holds them for now.

He mingles a bit with those who approach the Ventrue but stays near the Primogen for now awaiting the formal introductions.

"Yeah" - Triel smiles and looks Kent over from top to bottom - "You think it's on purpose? See if someone loses it?" - she chuckles again - "Might be fun actually"

Triel Carter wrote:

Kent raises an eyebrow, "Perhaps, with the Kindred, one can never know what games are being played.

It may be an excuse to bring one with low courage and high esteem down in the eyes of their peers. It could be so many things. Or it could just be that the Elders don't like change overmuch. Harnessing electricity after all is rather new all things considered".

correction on Bob, it's Bill "The Cabbie" who looks pinched and long faced with a bulbous nose wearing what any Cabbie might if they dressed up with Dockers and a polo shirt

The door opens and closes and next to arrive is a creature who appears from the thin air with wings which looks like it's made of stone and it walks past the man without also being questioned and it and the sheriff have a conversation.

Next to arrive is a man who is wearing a gray suit with a tie. There seems to be a pause from the guy at the door and then he searches the guy who comes in from head to toe and then waves him in. McNeely says Greg Scarpa, the Grim Reaper, of the Malkavians

"Why do they call him that?" - she pipes in again - "I am Triel, by the way"

Mr. McNeely looks to you slowly as if you joined something you were not invited to and says I am McNeely of clan Ventrue, primogen, childe of Wilhelm, childe of Gustav, childe of Ehrentraud, childe to Ventrue. Who are you truly Triel?

"A pleasure to meet you Mr McNeely" - Triel smiles and nods, allowing the southern accent to play strongly in her words - "As for myself... I am just what you see - a good looking Brujah, perhaps a bit out of place in here. But I'll manage" - she shrugs - "Or did you mean something else?"

GM Ring of Gold:

Does Triel know what William Mcgillivray looks like? And does she know if he is kindred or kine?

Triel:
You don't have his looks known but you know he is kindred

9th Generation Ventrue - Willpower 8 - Blood 5/14

He wants to ask what the damned statue-like creature is but he supposes there will time for that later.

Kent notes Scarpa so he knows what he looks like finally after being warned of him at first arrival. Interesting how someone who appears so plain could be considered so deadly even among their own kind.

Kent watches the Primogen closely to gauge his reaction to the Brujah Triel.

Gangrel 8th gen Blood: 10/15 Will: 5/5

ST:
Sorry again for the absence. Family is finally shaking off the last of the illness and I can breathe easier.

Old Ben listened, watched, waited. He was sure he needed introduced, but could not for the life of him recall if he was supposed to do his own introductions... finally, after what might be a slightly too long amount of time he looked to the prince.

"Hey boss, I'm Ben. Um, I can take a hit, so if you need a brick wall I am your wall."

Ben grinned cheerfully, that sounded pretty right to him.

Old Ben:
Janice jumps in as you hear a good natured chuckle from many of the Gangrel present. Princess Harriet, may I present Old Ben, "the wall." The Princess stands and takes your hands in hers and says I welcome you by tradition into my domain. I grant you sustenance that you may hunt as you see fit but break not the treaty of the Ring of Gold not the masquerade. I grant you shelter that you may find safe haven against the sun. In return do you promise to follow the Traditions and Elysium within my cities, to respect all domains earned through my hand, and to follow the treaty of the Ring of Gold?

Gangrel 8th gen Blood: 10/15 Will: 5/5

ST:
Ben looked at the princess and nodded. "Course I do. I don't stick my hand in somebody's fridge without being told it's OK. Whatever you need, I'm your man." He said excitedly. This was going better than he had expected, maybe things were looking up for old Ben.
