Hanzi Logain
|
Hanzi shrugs and makes his way to the yellow door I guess we're looking for a yellow hand
He motions for the rogue to check this door and then opens it if it's clear.
Edmund DeCarth

Tapping the large cat on her haunches, Edmund encourages her forward and up the steps. He moves behind her to the edge of the stairwell, where he can clearly see in the audience chamber, the level below, and the doors to the South.
"Looks like a good perch for the moment. I'll cover your movements from here."
Kissan crouches down on the landing above- her form dominating the upper landing. Her eyes dart across entry way, and her nose is alert to the slight wafting air in the stale chamber. A low growl, almost in audible. vibrates from her chest.
"Grrrrr"
Ignatius Hellfire
|
He motions for the rogue to check this door and then opens it if it's clear.
How DARE you call me a rogue!
"Try not to touch anything," Ignatius hisses after seeing Hanzi barely avoid losing his hand to the demonic statue.
The tiefling continues moving into the other chamber, moving each foot forward cautiously as his orange red eyes scan from side to side and up and down for danger, then waves his allies forward when he's confident that its safe.
| Shardra the Dwarf |
Shardra, scared of the tiefling, does not touch anything. "Have you found anything useful yet?". She's hesitant to move on, but seeing the other Pathfinders in action, she's starting to become more confident.
"Kolo, what do you see?". She holds up her tuatara up and places him on her shoulder.

You check all three doors for traps and find nothing. All three doors are locked.
| Crowe Elberion |
The burly Shoanti, hefts his earthbreaker, "Try the double doors? Or you going to pick these locks?"
He taps the yellow door with his earthbreaker, listening to the sound, "Or I could try and open it up?"
Ignatius Hellfire
|
"I don't know how to pick a lock. Unless someone else does, we may need Crowe to clear the way with his hammer."
Patrick Herschel
|
Patrick always has a sense of foreboding, nearly on the verge of paranoia, so that's nothing new.
This will probably not work he says to the shadow dragon on his shoulder But I may as well give it a try
He moves back to the double doors, pulls out a scroll and reads off a Knock spell.
Patrick Herschel
|
Well worth a go I guess He then heads up to where the others are. and see what they have done.
He also feels the despair and the cruelty and nods to himself. Seems like the female alright. His nightmare dragon gives him a look that says Just you wait Buster
Edmund DeCarth
|
The cloaked figure of Edmund leans in the doorway heading into the audience chamber- looking back across the still and empty chamber behind them and waits for Crow to break down the next door.
I don't trust places like this...
There is tension still on his bowsting, but every once in awhile he relaxes slightly to flash a simple hand signal to Kissan.
Guard
Hanzi Logain
|
Hanzi unsheaths the glimmering silver blade of his anecestors and leads the way through the smoke.
But then he looks around notes no other points of egress from the room.
I think...maybe this is a dead end?
He passes his hand through the yellow smoke on a whim
Patrick Herschel
|
Patrick doesn't answer immediately but studies the pillars.

Teleportation. he announces. Presumably Hanzi is elsewhere in the complex.
Saying that, he steps though, just in case Hanzi requires magical backup.
| Shardra the Dwarf |
"Teleportation? Should we follow him?". Seeing Patrick follow Hanzi's steps, Shardra will follow too. 'They probably need out help.'
| GM Nowruz |
Hanzi is followed by other Pathfinders and they appear instantly next to him in a long, rectangular room with yellow smoke at one end and a door at the other end. Almost as soon as they arrive, Hanzi touches the smoke again and appears back in the room he just left!
Patrick’s analysis showed that the yellow smoke definitely has a conjuration aura. The green smoke does as well, but more as a faded remnant and should you try to touch it, you’ll realize that nothing happens.
Edmund DeCarth
|
The human hears the commotion in the other room, presumably as Hanzi disappears into the smoke. Acting quickly, he hops over the table and signals Kissan forward- right before Hanzi surprisingly reappears back in the chamber.
Skidding to a stop, Edmund lowers his bow and looks at the Nagaji inquisitively.
"What was all the commotion about in here. Right gave me a fright"
Ignatius Hellfire
|
Ignatius follows after Hanzi.
"This isn't the first time I've experienced teleportation, but I don't think I'll ever get used to the sensation of being in one place and then finding myself in another without interruption."
Once everyone is in the new room, the tiefling starts cautiously moving down the hallway, stepping carefully as he scans the walls and floor of the tunnel and waving his allies forward when it seems safe.

You check the door and other areas in this new room but nothing seems trapped.
As you know anyone who steps into the column of smoke is teleported to the similar column in area D5. What do you do?
Edmund DeCarth
|
Edmund is continuing as a rear-guard until it is clear that all the pathfinders have entered into the teleportation smoke
Patrick Herschel
|
Patrick wants to check out the door at the other end. He also voices the theory that the coloured teleportation columns were colour keyed to each apprentice and green may have been the master's one.
| Shardra the Dwarf |
Shardra looks at the others and shrugs. "I'll follow you," she says gesturing at no one in particular. 'Nerves. Get over yourself Shardra. The spirits want you to be more confident. Be more confident.'. She tries to smile as she walks forward.
"Does anyone want a bit of guidance? The spirits have shown me the way and they can show you the way too.".
Can cast Guidance on anyone who wants it.
Hanzi Logain
|
Hanzi, upon getting the go ahead from the 'rogue' that this new door was safe makes his way to the front and checks out the supplicants Some kind of cult down here? Reminds me of the Jade Regent...
He then opens the door.
| GM Nowruz |
D 17. YELLOW SMOKE
The Pathfinders now all enter the yellow smoke and reappear in a narrow corridor with a column of yellow smoke at one end and a door at the other.
When a search of the door turns up no traps, the door is opened by Hanzi to reveal a long corridor.
D 18. SOUTH HALL
Bells and strings of beads hang thick in the corridor, and there's a closed door at the end of it. There doesn't seem to be a trap per se in the corridor, but anyone who just walks straight down it will surely make a lot of noise.
Assuming the consensus is for everyone to go through the yellow smoke, you'll all appear in the tight quarters you can see at the bottom left of the grid. Please reposition yourselves however you'd like. (in-game, your characters don't know where they are in relation to where they've been, of course).
If you want to try to move down the corridor without touching any of the bells or beads, I'd need an Acrobatics check and Reflex save.
Ignatius Hellfire
|
Iggy has pretty Perception and Stealth and his saves aren't bad either. It makes sense for him to scout ahead.
"I might be able to make it through without touching anything. If anyone else thinks they can, maybe we could get the jump on whatever's behind that door. But once I fire this musket, everyone within a half mile is going to know we're here."
I really should pick up an oil of silence.
Acrobatics w Guidance: 1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 17 + 1 = 23
| GM Nowruz |
Iggy jumps, spins, and tumbles through the wires strung with bells and beads, looking like the world's most acrobatic dancer. He soon arrives at the door at the far end of the corridor.
D 19.
Iggy throws open the door to reveal a passageway running west and east, with a door set in the north wall before the corridor turns to the north.
Arches on the far east wall lead to a darkened chamber that periodically flashes with colourful bursts of light, casting the corridor in shifting shades of pink, scarlet, dusty rose, and incandescent blue.
| Shardra the Dwarf |
The big lumbering dwarf looks wide eyed at the corridor. "No way I can go down that without alerting half the world. But I can try."
Shardra has -6 to acrobatics and +3 Reflex. Don't really want to go in, but looks like she has to.
Acrobatics: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (12) - 6 = 6 Yes, -6 to acrobatics!
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Like a true oaf, she tumbles in and trips. "Save me oh noble Hanzi," she looks for the person closest to the door.
Patrick Herschel
|
Since the bells have already started ringing, Patrick concludes he cannot make anything worse and heads in.
