The evil aura of this place is still bothering you! And seeing these long dead skulls floating in the air is somehow giving you bad dreams which push into this reality!
The two fire bolts that Patrick cast only hit the walls! All of Ignatius’s gun shots hit the brown skull but they cannot destroy it!! And Hanzi uses the fractures to connect with his second hit and shatter the closest skull!
3d20 ⇒ (19, 16, 16) = 51
Shardra’s channeling only does little damage!!
Two of Edmund’s arrows sink deep into the skull with yellow glowing eyes but the large cat misses his target.
-
Forgot they can 5 ft step. Fly +20 auto success on hover.
Both of the skulls float back and cast something!! Poison cloud is everywhere!!
Two separate stinking clouds! Two DC 16 fort saves. Stinking cloud creates a bank of fog like that created by fog cloud, except that the vapors are nauseating. Living creatures in the cloud become nauseated. This condition lasts as long as the creature is in the cloud and for 1d4+1 rounds after it leaves. (Roll separately for each nauseated character.) Any creature that succeeds on its save but remains in the cloud must continue to save each round on your turn. This is a poison effect.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 +3 vs poisons, +5 vs spells or SLAs
Shardra feels hearty and manages to stave off the gas. For now at least. She instead starts humming an ancient Dwarven war hymn.
Use Hex Misfortune (standard action) on red skull. DC 18 Will save. Will use Chant (move action) to extend duration by 1 round. [/oc]
[ooc]Misfortune: roll twice on all ability checks, attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks and take the lower roll for 1 round.

Ignatius chokes on the toxic gas, but then he uses the lessons he has been studying in meditation and gains control of his breathing. He slips a paper cartridge into his musket then clicks the heels of his boots of speed and dashes forward to get out of the cloud, diving underneath the flying skulls and rolling onto his back. Laying down, he fires up at the skull above him.

Continuing to lie on the ground directly underneath the skulls, Ignatius unleashes a flurry of gun shots, directing them at the yellow skull until it shatters.

Prone, but fighting defensively, so AC should remain at 27. Attacking yellow until it goes down. And using Clustershot. Attacking and reloading should both provoke AoOs, so hopefully they can't reach Iggy or have Combat Reflexes.

Shardra the Dwarf |

Shardra chokes as the clouds disappate. *cough*. "How is everyone feeling? Anyone hurt?". Shardra coughs some more, getting the last bit of fumes out of her lungs. "Hope there aren't any more of those things...."

![]() |

Patrick doesn't have any magic to dissipate the cloud. Instead he's using a piece of parchment as a fan. Dao helps with her wings. He's also using a damp cloth as an improvised filter mask.
Once it's clear enough he has another attempt at reading the plaques below the niches where the skulls had been.

Ignatius stands up and reloads his musket. "These wizards and their accursed creations." Ignatius carefully checks the door while his allies look at the skulls.

Waiting until the cloud clears, and Kissan is recovered from her coughing fit. Squatting on his haunches, Edmund cups her face in his hands.
"It's ok girl. I know you would have taken care of those skulls. You did well, you are such a good girl. Yes you are. You'll get to kill something next time! I know you will..."
He stands and turns to the larger group.
"We need to press on... or do we return to the original wizard and end this once and for all"

GM Nowruz |

Ignatius believes that the door is not trapped.
Patrick sees that skulls each had names below them.
Taking 10 on your knowledges...
These are the names of three of Nhur's original, long-dead apprentices and they were obviously trophies.
There is space for five skulls but as you know there were six apprentices. So either Vogarin, Vuzhon or Daegros was planning to collect the skulls of their rivals.

![]() |

"Maybe number three will be reasonable and not try to kill us. Or perhaps they already fell prey to the machinations of the other apprentices." Ignatius sighs wearily. "But I did bring enough bullets to deal with them in the event that we aren't so lucky."
Ignatius asks the party, "Ready?" before cautiously opening the door and slipping in.
Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31
Perception: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23

I would not be sure on that Patrick replied. If Vuzhon is anything like the female wizardlings I had the misfortune to endure while in training, she would be the worst to deal with. Combine the evil machinations of the two we already met, add in a level of subtle deception and feminine wiles as well as sneakiness, mix that all up and then dial the result up to eleven. That is what we would be dealing with.

Shardra the Dwarf |

Shardra follows closely behind everyone, keeping a close eye out for anything unusual.

Ahhhh ... nobody noticed the trap. :-( Affects the whole hallway 10ft x 30 ft.
When you enter the hallway all is fine. As soon as Hanzi is farther down the corridor all those in the hallway feel something coming ...
... you see phantom images of your companions aged dozens of years, with torn clothes, ragged hair, and crazed eyes, begging for help and imploring you not to trust Togarin.
"He is the devil! Do not let him do it!!"
Grasping with emaciated hands, they plead “We helped him destroy the time lock, and were forever trapped! You still have a chance to save yourself, to save us!”
Hanzi, Patrick, Ignatius, and Shardra: Have some fun role-playing this. I also need you to roll a Will save and a Fortitude save (effect tags: trap, illusion, emotion, fear, mind-affecting).

Edmund moves cautiously down the hall, weight on the bow string and arrow knocked. His eyes dart back the hallway- keeping an eye out to any threats for his companion.
Kissan, ever loyal, pads along in front of him. Her teeth are barred and she stands ready to pounce on whatever threat might show itself.
As the ghostly figures appear, he pauses. Keeping his distance he calls out to others in the hallway. "What are they saying?"
