I do not know the answer to this question.
Why don't we just have Aktuh pop in for a single post and roll his own Crafting? If taking advantage of PbP in this way is somehow "against code" let's deal with it during the aftermath!

Valeros Soup |

I have a counterproposal - unless you're required to fill out the specifics for downtime (which I don't think you are), can you just put down "Crafting" and I'll deal with it at some future date?
Aktuh intends to pick up Magical Crafting at level 3, but he'll be crafting through level 2 (Q06 was his first level 2 adventure so he has 11 more XP to go), so it's possible he's in the middle of crafting something when this Chronicle is applied (in which case, he'll just be spending 3 days finishing whatever he's working on).
I'll make a d20 roll now so you can record it, but his level 3 modifiers won't be finalized until later (I have to decide whether to bump Crafting or something else, and judging from his martial capabilities right now it may be something else) and the DC of the item he's Crafting won't be known until much later. This roll would be for the first item he crafts at Level 3, even if it's not started on this Chronicle specifically.
Crafting, no modifier: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Mission Prep
GM Glyphs:
School Item:
Retired Boons:
Achievement Boons:
Daily Preparations:
FYI - I will be out 36 hours of the New Year's holiday - but will re-join after that!

Valeros Soup |

GM Glyphs: 1 (to the lowest level frontliner ... Teja?)
School Item: pregen
Retired Boons: pregen
Achievement Boons: pregen
Daily Preparations: buttkickery (1/1), buttwhoopery (1/1)
As for who goes, Valeros has Perception +7 and Stealth +2, so probably not Valeros.

![]() |

GM Glyphs: None, only run 1 pFS2 game so far.
School Item: Hate the new web site. I've forgotten how many you get and I don't see the rules after a quick search. Meh, I think I got 2 so a scroll of Dispel Magic and a Leser Healing Potion.
Retired Boons: ? No clue what this is...
Achievement Boons:Traveler of the spirit road, Cryptid scholar, Team Player
Daily Preparations: Coffee, breakfast, a stretch.

There are linked resources in Campaign Tabs that may answer your questions.
Default is a single Minor Healing Potion.

GM Glyphs: None (but I have my Coin Award Token, which give me another HP that I can give to another player)
School Item: Scroll of Heal (level 3)
Retired Boons: Eager Protégé
Achievement Boons: None
Daily Preparations: Praying Razmir, Preaching Razmir

![]() |

GM Glyphs:None, done very little PFS2 GMing
School Item: Lesser healing potion
Retired Boons: - not sure what this is
Achievement Boons: - are these just regular boons we slot? Sand Slide (bonus if I fail a reflex save vs a trap); Cryptid scholar (bonus when recalling knowledge vs rare or unique); Touched by the storm (cold/electricity resistance);
Daily Preparations: None.
On the scouting front, Teja is happy to do that, with +8 to stealth and +7 to perception I am unlikely to critically fail a task (only on a 1).

QM rainzax |

GM Glyphs: None (but I have my Coin Award Token, which give me another HP that I can give to another player)
Is this a "Campaign Coin"?

![]() |

GM Glyphs: None (yet!)
School Item: scroll of restoration
Retired Boons: None
Achievement Boons: Traveller of the Spirit Road, Team Player, Experienced Mountaineer
Daily Preparations: talking with Viney, the leshy familiar.

Ah. They have changed it. One item now. I'll go with the scroll of Dispel Magic then. Also, Dolar's pertinent skills are Stealth +7, Perception +5. So she's better at the first but OK at the second...

![]() |

So, what does everyone think a 'relatively safe' bonus is to make a roll? +5? +6?
So far it looks like Fangor and Teja are definite possibilities. Mathias looks good as well and my +5 perception might be OK. Are we still missing one? No? So, Valeros looks to be the only one with that +2 Stealth that might be a negative.
Thoughts? I could sit out as well with my +5 stealth. I'm good either way. Valeros can keep watch, if I sit out I can help him.

QM rainzax |

Yes
Got it. I track Hero Points in my QM Bar. The Campaign Coin is the "+1" bit.
To the rest of you, the Challenge awaits you, and should automatically prompt you along.
Two rolls. Stealth, then Scout, in that order!
See you in 2021!!

![]() |

Is this a situation where we are better having a lot of people try (to get "investigation points" or whatever) - in which case we likely should have everyone with a +5 or better bonus in each category give it a go. Or is this a "you only need one person" where Fangor sounds like the best bet?
Sometimes scenario writers look at a given situation quite differently from each other.

Valeros Soup |

So, what does everyone think a 'relatively safe' bonus is to make a roll? +5? +6?
Specifically for this challenge in this scenario: The way I read it, only one person needs to succeed, and whoever makes one check has to make both checks. So I think Fangor, or Fangor plus Froggie, should go.
---
Apart from this scenario / in general, the rule of thumb that I use is that if one is trained, one should make a roll. If the DC of the challenge is lower than the DC of Aiding (which it often is in the first few levels), one should just attempt the challenge in parallel.
There's some weirdness at low levels because someone could be untrained with a +4, and have it be better than someone who's trained with a +3, but "trained = roll" the easiest rule to remember IMO and by 3rd level, I think it's impossible for any untrained modifier to be better than a trained modifier (don't yell at me if that's untrue).
The more complicated answer is that under a typical scheme where crit success = +2 units, success = +1 units, failure = 0 units, crit failure = -1 units, the math works out such that the magic number is natural 15. If anyone needs a natural 15 or lower to hit the challenge DC, they should attempt the challenge straight up; if they need a natural 16 or higher to hit the challenge, but a 15 or lower to hit the aid DC, they should Aid; if they need a natural 16+ to both hit the challenge or aid, then they shouldn't roll at all. But depending on how bad crit failure is vs how good success is, the magic number can change. This also assumes that multiple successes are no better than a single success - if a success per player is required, you're usually forced to roll (but usually there's a choice of skills to use so very few people are forced to roll with a +0).

By the way, I vanish on the 7th for a week or so. So you may need to npc me for the last bit of this quest.

By the way, I vanish on the 7th for a week or so. So you may need to npc me for the last bit of this quest.
When we come upon that date (or any other time of need), I will activate the Bot Tree!
Step One
Create "botting instructions" for your character, and nest them in your Profile.
Step Two
The following "buddy system" where the each player vouches to "bot" the character alphabetically Before and After if 24 hours has passed since that player being "up" has caused the action to pause:
Fangor / Gloriana
Frogger / Frog
Teja / Eviria
Valeros / Aktuh
Zallarra / Doler
Cheers!

I thought I had bot-me spoilers already, I'll try to get that done before I leave.

Busy Saturday - expect a linked Map within the next couple hours. And then, decide which Entrance you'd like to enter from, and place your Tokens on that corresponding entrance!

QM rainzax |

Map is Linked in both my QM Bar and with the other Resources above Campaign Tabs!

QM rainzax |

We are currently 3/5 on Map Tokens.
If there are any Map / Token questions, ask here!

QM rainzax |

Then he moves in, stealthily.

I moved a token just inside the door. Is that me? :)
That was the Guard!
I fixed it for you. Also took the liberty to give everyone a Circle Shape and a Color. Now PCs are Circles, NPCs are Squares!
And 5/5!

Also: if you open my "QM Profile" I have recently added a "Basic Actions (Encounter)" spoiler, complete with Action Symbols, Tags, a Brief Description, and Cross Links.
Feel free to open at your leisure and peruse!

QM rainzax |

Given recent events with Sign-Ins, my campaigns have all hiccuped, and as players figure out to sign back in, maybe give Teja 24 hours?

QM rainzax |

Teja! - here is a link for directions for how to correct Login Challenges!

I'm back! Thanks for botting me.

QM rainzax |

Zallarra, thankfully being right beside Frogger pulls out a potion and gives it to him.
It says Here you took a Scroll of Dispel.
If that is so please replay your action!
