is there any issues with saying Qizz took some times to grab a few things off of Kallik's body before leaving?

(the one exception is the axe, since it is basically inert right now, so don't have it count as wealth) For your next post, just add a quick note of what you grabbed on your way out.

Everyone else, I know I'm not the most "treasure heavy" DM in the world, mostly because we don't have a ton of combats either. If you'd like to pick out 1 magic item that's around 1000-2000 gp, you can say you "found" it among your gear as you awakened from death, please do so!

I'm good with posting whenever.

However, I honestly have no idea how to interact with what we're seeing right now. The world is a tiny alien box at the moment, and the only tools I have at my disposal (different flavors of destruction) have already been discounted. They've been at this for hundreds of years, I'm not sure what extra I bring to the table beyond one expendable body and three expendable souls.


I think that once we have a few more people talking / posting we'll get some ideas.

No, that's completely fair. I did want it to feel different, because we took time off, you died for a bit, then came back in a weird, isolated place.

That's why I asked - it's on me the narrator to give you something to hang your hat on, so let's see what we can pull together over the next few days - I'm looking forward to seeing us weaving a story again.

Thank you. The number of times I have to double check is something is a verb is shameful from a former English major. But I enjoy a challenge. And the spiritualist might be my favorite class and Kallik is my second favorite character I have ever played. Defiantly the one I have played the longest. The goblin Barbarian that turned the game into a musical is number one, largely due to the musical elements.

That was truly worthy of a nat 20 Abnaki -- that was basically a perfect recap of the campaign as well as a suitable epic to tell these mycos :)

I'm still grappling with what the result will be --- a 40 is the sort of thing that can change the attitude of an entire clan of people. Are you rallying them to come with you and see what this world of "air" is all about? To do some good in the world?

I don't want the Mycos to get hurt by the dark-infused roots, but if some of them truly want to learn how to "be El" then Abnaki would like to bring them up and out, to help them to get situated. Ideally, they'd be inspired to help us, and to be hopeful that their lot in life can be better. After all, it's the desperate and the lost who fell to Moon easiest.

Abnaki the roll was impressive, and the speech superseded a 40. Some fine bardic oratory work.

Kallik has a impressive insecurities but her biggest fear has been letting down Egret. Getting sucked back into the anger like when she was poisoned. On the more irrational side it's not being enough or failing in her blessed duties. Dying and heaving her primary emotion being anger have made these a little more real.

For Qizzlvutz I don't know yet. Still getting a feel for the character.

Samen & Co. have balanced and competing fears. On one hand, fear of a loss of individuality and being absorbed into the collective. On the other hand, fear that they will not be able to be powerful enough to make full use of their synergy.

Abnaki is worried that instead of inspiring hope in people, he will force it on them instead, since he is so good at reading people, and tailoring his words and magics to those insights. He's also worried that in being able to see minds so clearly that he will stop being El entirely.

Starting wealth: 30,000 gp, which should cover your essentials

Skills: Every character gets one extra skill point per level in a Craft, Profession, or Perform skill of their choice. I want you to have some kind of flavorful/cool background skill, but I don't want it to come at the cost of a better skill. (this is basically linguistics for you, along with all your other extra languages, which you should keep)

RACE: You are a human.

CLASS: For reasons your character wouldn't know yet, you are now directly using the power of your mind. I'd like you to be a Psychic to reflect this, but I'm willing to hear out if you have other ideas or you don't want to learn a new class.


So to recap:

1) You are all back from the dead, but the Happy Swords are no more.

2) You brought some myconians back with you, and freed the whole from darkness/branches. You also brought this Quiet Elder's roots back to life (they are one and the same)

3) We now have, roughly: a Phantom/host, a Wordsmith, a Psychic (though I honestly prefer the name Psion. We can hammer out the details), and a Slayer.

4) We are back on more familiar ground now, and we can start affecting the world again. I'm looking forward to it!

I looked over the Psychic, and it seems like an int based sorcerer with a focus on mind spells. I should be able to put something decent together, but I'm not going to be a striker anymore. I can continue being the party brain, but Abnaki is a way better face that I could hope to match. Same with buffing, really, so debuffing/battlefield control is probably the way to go. I guess I need to worry about pumping spell save DCs again :P.

Awesome! I'm hoping between our (Anger) Spiritualist and our Slayer, that we have enough striking power. Sequoya would have been a good fifth ember to have (good AC, good striking, animal companion for more HP, etc).

We shall see what our new party composition brings - should be interesting!

Yeah the big if with psychic magics is emotion based spells screw them up but otherwise their good


It will be very interesting to see how phantoms, psychics, slayers, and word mages all get along together in combat.

I have seen all of them in different combos except the word mage. That one I am fascinated by.

Honesty, works best with sorcerers! 3/4 casters don't really get a lot of fun toys to play with until really high level. Considering how little people actually need massive inspire courage buff at this level, I'd retrain to being a full caster but... I really like some of my other bard features, like having skill points.


I love that Qizzlvutz is a sketcher / artist! Fits very well with the 'community murals' I imagined that many of the tunnels in the myco kingdom were covered with. Shifting forms and shifting art along their walls.


Samen - I'm not clear on what "past life memories" is under your skill bonuses -- I don't see it elsewhere explained on the sheet. Is this a psychic thing? I'd like to see the breakdown of bonuses, and possibly pare things down if you are getting a ton of skills from psychic sources. (that I might not want to have stack)
