Confidently, Bibi steps aside for Peldur who opens the door. The air in this room feels blisteringly hot, although the source of the heat is not apparent. Neither the wooden barrel containing a few iron scoops nor the metal bin with a hatch-like lid seems to be the source.

After a moment Elena steps inside the chamber. "The heat is a strange contrast to, well, just about everything about this place. And yet, there must be a purpose to it."

There's something about Elena that Bibi doesn't have that draws out the haunting spirits. The hatch atop the haunted furnace flips open and disgorges a pair of shrieking, burning ghosts. They shriek about the betrayal of wizards and their evil knowledge as they lash out at Elena!

No mini for this haunt. As always, knowledge of Religion can help exorcise the haunt, as can the direct application of Positive energy, but perhaps they can be cowed via Intimidation...

The party makes their way to the natural cavern area in the southeast of the level. Skipping the downward path by the water for now, they check out the horizontal path that leads west.

Not too far into the tunnel, Bibi discovers a secret door that leads north. Looks like the door is intended to be reasonably obvious on this side.

The tunnel also starts to stink a bit, like fish mixed with oily sweat. It's not pleasant. There's the faintest flickering of light coming from further west too.

Elena encourages the party to press on. The stength gets a little worse, but it's largely manageable. The source of the light is hard to find, and the passage continues longer than expected. In truth, it's bioluminescent moss that's providing the light.

After a hundreds of feet the party is ready to turn around when Bibi and Carrufikus think they hear voices up ahead. It's more than two voices, and while they can make out the sounds it's in a language neither speaks.

There is an overpowering stench in this chamber, like rotten fish mixed with oily sweat. The warm, humid air only adds to the foul atmosphere. Unlike the previous chambers, this one appears to be a natural cavern, dotted with limestone stalactites and stalagmites, making it hard to see where the room ends. When you step into the room a bit, the smell is overwhelmingly potent. FORT DC 16 or be Sickened.

Bickering are a trio of strange creatures. Each humanoid’s scaly hide is dull gray. Their frames resemble that of a cave lizard, with a long tail and crests on its head and back. MAP

Ok, ok...MAN does that ever stink!! Three lizard beasties, grey-scaled, humanoid. They STUKCING FINK. Like, grocery shout stink. I can't understand the language, I have no idea if they're friendly or nasty. Aside from the stank. THAT is NASTy--if I haven't mentioned that yet.

She starts rummaging through her pack. Dammit, I've got soap & chalk, but no candles. Anyone have candles? We can make nose-plugs. You know, against the stank. Have I mentioned that yet?
