The back of the mushroom grotto leads to a long, winding passageway. You find that it gently slopes upward, and can feel a fresh breeze coming from this direction. You emerge from a small cave in a ravine outside of Otari. Remnants of a camp around the cave’s entrance indicate that the kobolds had stayed here for some time before heading down.

The party takes the final turn, revealing a massive chamber that looks like an audience hall. On the far side, a broad set of stairs leads up to where a throne might once have been. Pillars support the high ceiling, and the ruined tatters of once decorative banners still hang from them. A decorative tile pattern centered in the middle of the room shows through the grim coating the floor.
Bibi immediately spies a pair of kobolds guarding the stairwell, but not closely. A third kobold stands between them, clearly in charge. She sees her moment when they're all looking the other way. It appears they're more concerned with intruders going down than coming up.
When Tal comes tearing in, they give a yelp of surprise, but settle in for a fight.
A bright-green dragon leaps into view, and although the beast isn’t much larger than you, large leathery wings and snapping jaws make the hatchling look like an ancient wyrm. The creature gazes at you with cunning eyes and snorts a cloud of yellow vapor. With a fierce roar, the dragon charges forward to attack!

Noroc checks the alcoves, for now skipping the door to the south. The only thing he finds is a piece of eggshell. It likely belonged to an egg at least 2 feet across! Welcome to doing this dungeon backwards...

Bibi gives the clear on the door, and as always steps aside for Peldur to open it.
The door to this chamber silently glides open to reveal a long room. Two stone statues of priests stand in the corners along one side of the room, facing a towering statue of a man holding out both of his hands, palms up. In front of this statue is a stone altar holding nine golden coins. A voice booms out from the statue.
“In my hands I judge the value of all wealth, raising up whichever is greater. One of these coins is a deception. Find it using only two judgments and receive my blessing.”

Bibi scrunches up her nose for a bit, then starts talking.
OK, I think I've figured this out. We set aside three coins, and then put the remaining six on the scales, three each. If one of those three piles contains the fake, it'll drop (because the greater wealth will rise up). If NEITHER drop, then the fake is in the three we set aside. Then we take the set of three we know contains the fake, lay one coin aside, and put the remaining two on teh scales, the same way. If one of the two is the fake, the scales will be imablanced; if they're not, the fake is the one we set aside.
I'm excited about this plan!! LET'S DO IT!!!

She sets aside three coins, keeping them on the altar on one corner. Three coins go in the statue's right hand, three in the other. Then she waits for the results.

"Correct. Thou shalt be rewarded." Suddenly a click from the north alerts the party to the door being opened... The coins then drop to the ground. The fake coin turns to lead. For your success, you each earn 30 XP.

Bibi creeps north to find only that the door is ajar. She can't resist, and looks inside. This small chamber contains an old wooden chest emblazoned with the symbol of a key. Behind the chest is a massive contraption of gears and pulleys that looks like the inner workings of some unseen device.
