Yeah, I trust you. Since you’d need to narrate the result I think that would move things along.

Also, I am using the spreadsheet on gramps’ iPad and that works fine

The flailing tentacles nearly send Indi falling into the water, but he manages to keep himself seated on the bench.
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Now it's Lanzellet

Lanzelett quickly nocked an arrow, drew back, and fired.

Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 221d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

The arrow lands square between the grindylow's eyes. It lets out a pained cry as it falls back into the water. Shouts of relief and encouragement rise from the Peregrine once the water ceases churning. Once again, the air is eerily silent and still. You get 100 xp each from defeating the grindylows

The shore is only 50 ft away now, where a simple dock extends into the water.

Male Human Bard [Archeologist]/1

Indi uses his prehensile whip on the nearest body and hauls it into the boat, then checks it for belongings and any clues about where it came from.

Knowledge Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

The monster clutches solely a primitive spear in its clammy claws. In terms of where it might have come from, Grindylows are as ubiquitous as goblins in coastal and oceanic areas. There could be a tribe around here somewhere, though it would be unlikely that they could muster enough forces to overtake the first wave of colonists.

Male Oread Paladin [Divine Defender]/1

“Waste not want not,” Thackett says tucking the spear into his bag before they resume rowing towards shore.

As you approach the shore, you gain a better look at Talamandor's Bounty. A well-worn path in the grass rises up a slope toward a cluster of buildings to the east. The buildings are arranged in a rough triangle, with each point ending in a wooden circular enclosure with rectangular notches cut intermittently, like battlements. These round enclosures are clearly meant to be three points of a wooden palisade fence, which would enclose this first group of buildings once completed. The palisade fence, however, is complete only along the southeastern side of the triangle and is obviously unfinished elsewhere. The grass around the settlement looks like it was cropped at one point, and many paths exist between locations in the settlement, but in less well-trafficked spots, the grass has started to regrow. All the buildings are constructed of either rough timber or mud bricks set in a wooden frame, and have pitched thatch roofs. Many have open window frames, but only a few have actual shutters or even a canvas curtain for privacy. Doors are basic, wooden affairs, too simple for locks, and some buildings lack them entirely. The construction is new, quite
rough and unfinished.
A solitary dock extends from the beach into the bay. The construction is solid and looks recent, suitable for tying off a small boat, although no watercraft are visible. The beach inclines to the east before giving way to grass and trees. Further on in that direction, buildings and a palisade wall stand on the rise.

Male Human Bard [Archeologist]/1

Indi examines the fresh grass trying to guess at how long it’s been allowed to grow, and by that, how long the village has been abandoned.

Nature: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

While Lanzelett uses her survival and tracking skills to look for signs of where they might have gone.

Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

[occ] I couldn’t find details on her track ability but I assume that it’s half her ranger level with a minimum of 1[/occ]

Ness hurries to search the buildings with Thackett and her Otter, Should, in tow.

Since this is a new colony, and grass cropping was low on the priority list, Indi isn't able to discern how long the settlement has been abandoned, though Lanzellet does notice the odd lack of tracks from the dock towards the settlement. She also, in her searches, sees from the dock a submerged canoe beneath the water. Okay, there's a map of Talamandor's bounty in the slide show on the second slide. You're currently at Area A1. Where would you like Ulionestra and Thackett to search, and do you want to wait for Indi and Lanzellet or no?

Ness and Thackett have made their way towards the cluster of round huts outside the village (A2), and Lanzelett and Indi run to catch up.

Having fun?

Male Oread Paladin [Divine Defender]/1

Wait for your parents. Thackett insists.

The girl nods reluctantly, knowing better than to argue with him when Thackett was in such a foul mood. Despite the attack, or maybe because of it, she is in a wonderful eager mood.

Okay, seven canvas pavilion tents were set up here, all of which are large enough to shelter two to three people each. All but two tents have collapsed due to wind, rain, and lack of maintenance. The two that remain standing lean haphazardly and do not appear to have been entered for a long time. Grass has begun to grow around them.
Of course I'm having fun! This is great!

The four of them check inside the tents one by one.

Great to hear, because I’m having a ton of fun too. I’m still learning what checks to do when. No passive perception is throwing me off. Do they just search without a check?

No, they just make a perception check.

Could you please make those rolls for them, I’m on my phone.

Lanzellet: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Indi: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
Thackett: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Ulionestra: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7

Searching through the tents and the disturbingly abandoned personal belongings, rank with the stink of mold, you find four potions filled with a viscous red liquid, and a surprisingly clean and light, gossamer-thin shirt embroidered with winged feet.

Male Human Bard [Archeologist]/1

Nabbing the potions and shirt, Indi assesses their value and use before stuffing them in his pack.

Appraise: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Male Oread Paladin [Divine Defender]/1

Thackett leads them towards a nearby building (a5) and they search here as well.

Lanzelett: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Indi: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Thackett: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Ulionestra: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4

RE: Indi
While mundane items of this sort would be worth next to nothing, these clearly have some magic in them and while you don't know exactly what magical potential they contain, they would definitely be worth more than their face value.

RE: Thackett
This L-shaped building is constructed of mud bricks on a wooden frame. The western portion is of the structure is enclosed by four walls. This section has a single open window on the south side, with a canvas curtain hung across the opening. The single entrance is a wooden door,
standing slightly ajar, on the southern end of the eastern face of the building. A ten-foot extension connects to the building on the east side. This extension has only a northern wall and is otherwise just a roof sheltering the space below, which is open to the outside. Underneath this cover is a forge with an exhaust flue directly above it, a worktable covered in metal scraps, a small tub of black water, and a partially sheltered anvil.

Male Human Bard [Archeologist]/1

”I’m still not sure what these potions are...” Indi mumbles to himself, distracted as usual.

Rolling her eyes, Ness looks in the bag, reflecting on all she knows about the arcane.

Knowledge: Arcane: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Let’s spread out, but keep in sight of that we’ll. Lanzelett tells the wordlessly assigning the buildings to search.

Thackett takes a4.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Ness takes a3.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Indi heads to a6.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 5

While Lanzelett searches the two long buildings at the north side of the village a11.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Sorry, were you hoping to go inside A5?

My bad, I thought we had. So yes please.

As you poke your heads into the smithy, your senses are overwhelmed by a pungent animal stench. Stepping through the door, the small mud-brick home is filled with spare tools, and just around the corner what once was a small living space, now a pungent heap of rags and blankets. Beneath this pile, four eyes peer out suddenly as a figure atop the pile quickly stirs. Teeth bared, the two lunge towards you as the other slips out the window. Roll initiative!

Indi: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Lanzelett: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Thackett: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Ulionestra: 1d20 ⇒ 18

The beast which sat atop the pile slips out the window, hooting and hollering, and after a few seconds it reappears in the door beside Lanzellet! With a fierce cry it stabs at her with its short spear, but she manages to twist out of the way.

GM Screen:
Spear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

It missed, don't worry

Now Indi's up

Male Human Bard [Archeologist]/1

Indi takes a step to the east and attacks with his whip at the monster outside the door.

Whip: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 141d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The whip cracks just above the beast's head as it snarls in fear, its long, pointed, goblin-like ears pressed flat against its bulbous head.
Ulionestra's turn now.

Ness fires her light crossbow at the creature in the doorway and uses her move action to reload.

Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 111d6 ⇒ 6

Ulionestra Moonshadow wrote:

[dice=Knowledge: Arcane]1d20 + 8

I’d feel like I was cheating if I rolled this again. Her spell craft is also 8.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Using the rolls before:
Potions: 16
Shirt: 10

Indi, reading the auras of the items found in the tents, identifies the four potions as potions of cure light wounds, but can't quite get a good reading on the shirt. You can try to identify the shirt again if either Ulionestra prepares Detect Magic, or you use Identify. Also, who do you want carrying this stuff?

Indi carries it for now.j

One of the beasts inside the smithy snarls and leaps onto Thackett, vaulting over him to plant its dagger into Thackett's back.

GM Screen:
Tumbling: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22Dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 201d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Thackett takes 4 damage, and then it is Lanzellet's turn

Ulionestra Moonshadow wrote:

[dice=Attack] 1d20; 1d6

I think you missed this one.

The crossbow bolt whizzes past the creature's head harmlessly.
I did, but it doesn't change anything.

Lanzelett takes a 5 foot step into the corner of the room and fires at the monster next to her husband.

Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 91d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

The arrow slams into the wall behind it with a loud THUMP, missing the snarling beast. The last creature steps towards Thackett and lashes out with its spear, missing by a wide margin.

GM Screen:
Spear: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 111d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Thackett's up now
